Hoyt Mid-Atlantic exhibition to open



NEW CASTLE, Pa. — The 2007 Hoyt Mid-Atlantic Art Exhibition opens Tuesday, at the Hoyt Institute of Fine Arts, 124 E. Leasure St.

Only 41 of the 300-plus entries were chosen, representing the work of 29 artists. Jerald Melberg, owner of Jerald Melberg Gallery in Charlotte, N.C., was juror.

A solo exhibition of works in ceramic by New Concord, Ohio-based artist Ken McCollum will also be featured in the Blair Sculpture Walkway.

The exhibitions will run through Nov. 21. A free, public reception will be held from 2-4 p.m. Oct. 7. For more information, call (724) 652-2882 or go to hoytartcenter.org.

Artists are also invited to submit three to five works for the Hoyt Artists Association Fall Screening. Call the institute for more information.
