Mobile Meals dedicates new headquarters
WARREN Trumbull County Mobile Meals had a dedication ceremony and ribbon-cutting at its new headquarters in downtown Warren on Monday.
Mobile Meals workers and guests including Trumbull County Commissioners Paul Heltzel and Daniel Polivka, Warren Mayor Michael J. O'Brien and Trumbull County United Way President Thomas Krysiek lined up to cut a gold ribbon before going inside the 323 E. Market St. headquarters to munch on cookies.
Mobile Meals bought the former site of the GE Appliance Store from the Warren Redevelopment and Planning Corporation for $115,000.
The offices of Mobile Meals were located in the Park-Porter building on the corner of Park Avenue and Porter Street Northeast, but the organization had to relocate after the sale of that building to Trumbull County. Mobile Meals' new home enables the organization to keep its operations and two full-time and eight part-time jobs in the downtown as well as allow the workers the needed space to prepare meals on site for distribution throughout the county, executive director Sandee Mathews said.
