Man arrested on warrants, new charges
YOUNGSTOWN Police arrested a man on warrants for weapons and drug charges, and they ended up filing more drug charges against him.
Police went to the Life Skills Learning Center on Market Street at 1:40 p.m. Monday to arrest Whittington R. Davis, 20, of Martin Luther King Boulevard on three warrants out of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court, a city police report says.
The warrants were for having a weapon when prohibited from doing so, carrying a concealed weapon and aggravated drug trafficking in cocaine, all felonies, the report says.
When police searched him, they found a plastic bag containing what they suspect is marijuana and a small container of nine individually packaged rocks of suspected crack cocaine, the report says.
He was charged with aggravated trafficking in crack cocaine and drug abuse for marijuana. He was taken to the Mahoning County jail.
Davis told police another student had given him $20 to hold the container for him.
