AUSTINTOWN Fire officials are still searching for the cause of a fire that did $105,000 worth of damage to a township home.
Three Austintown firefighters were slightly injured while fighting the blaze at 252 Four Mile Run Road at 9:35 p.m. Friday. One fell on ice, one had a foreign object in his eye and one was hit in the thigh when a fire hose broke loose. They were treated at the scene.
Five family members made it out safely.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, the fire department said.
Another house fire Friday slightly injured a 15-year-old boy. That fire, at 1867 Celeste Circle at 6:50 p.m., was confined to a bedroom. It started after a candle burned through a stereo and spread to the walls. The teenager suffered smoke inhalation and was treated at the scene, the fire department said.
That fire caused $17,000 worth of damage.
