Columbiana Community Foundation recently approved grants to three local groups totaling $11,000:
$4,000 to the Crestview Music Booster Association to help buy a portable public address system for the marching band, a band euphonium, concert tuba and bass guitar.
$2,000 to buy goal posts, prepare a field, and equipment for the Columbiana Church of the Nazarene's Upward Sports Program for youths ages 6-13.
$5,000 for the Crestview School District to help buy the Open Court Research Based Reading Program that focuses on the development of early literacy and readiness skills.
The foundation also announced it has received an unrestricted bequest of $18,093 from the estate of the late William Watters.
