Police probe report of woman being held
BOARDMAN Township police are investigating an early Saturday episode that landed three people in the Mahoning County jail.
Sgt. Ray Polombi said officers were called to a home in the 5000 block of Tippecanoe Road home at 5 a.m. after someone reported a woman being held against her will there.
Officers who arrived at the home, he said, could tell someone was inside but no one would respond to them.
The Mahoning Valley Crisis Response Team was called to the house. Officers, upon entering the home, found two people in an upstairs bedroom. A third person was in the driveway.
The episode ended without incident. But two people are being held in the county jail on outstanding warrants, police said, while a third is being held pending an investigation. Further details were not available from police Saturday night.
