Theft at McDonald's
Theft at McDonald's
YOUNGSTOWN A thief stole an undisclosed amount of money from a cash register at McDonald's, 2525 Market St., police reports say.
The suspect was seen in the store twice Saturday evening. On his second visit at about 9:30 p.m., he waited until an order was placed by someone in the drive-through lane, reports say.
When the cashier opened the register, the man reportedly ran behind the counter, took an undetermined amount of money and ran down the street.
Arrest in purse thefts
NEW CASTLE, Pa. A 36-year-old Seventh Street man was arrested after two women had purses stolen while shopping Saturday. Charges are pending.
A man stole a purse out of a woman's shopping cart in the parking lot of Wal-Mart in Union Township and then drove off, state police said. The car was similar to the one that drove off in a similar theft earlier in the day at Giant Eagle in Neshannock Township.
The car hit another car that was stopped on West Washington Street and then drove past a state police officer, who recorded the car going 80 mph in a 35 mph zone.
The driver tried to turn left onto Covert Road and went into a ditch.
