Man pleads guilty to robbery of drugstore
YOUNGSTOWN An 18-year-old Meghan Circle man has pleaded guilty as charged to aggravated robbery with a firearm specification in the Jan. 16 robbery of Family Discount Drugs, 3307 Canfield Road.
Airik Talbott entered his plea Thursday before Judge R. Scott Krichbaum of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court and faces six to 13 years in prison when the judge sentences him at a later date.
J. Michael Thompson, assistant county prosecutor, is recommending a six-year prison term for Talbott, who was only 17 when he committed the robbery, but was bound over from juvenile court for trial as an adult.
In July, Judge Maureen A. Sweeney of the same court sentenced Talbott's accomplice, Jeffrey D. Caulton, 18, of Norwood Avenue, to nine years in prison for this robbery and other crimes. The robbers ordered everyone in the store to lie on the floor while they took more than 1,600 OxyContin pills and other narcotics and $350 in cash from the Cornersburg store, police said.
