Poland mayor candidate
Poland mayor candidate
POLAND Timothy D. Sicafuse has filed to run as an independent candidate for village mayor. Sicafuse is president of Valley Insurance Group in Poland, which he founded in 1992.
He said he believes his experience as a small business owner has given him the skills to run the village. Sicafuse was born and reared in Poland and graduated from Poland Seminary High School and Ohio State University.
He lives in the village with his wife, Jo Ann, and two children. He's trying to become the third generation of his family to serve the community in a public office. His grandfather, Donald Sicafuse, was a township trustee, and his father, Pete Sicafuse, served on the township zoning board. Sicafuse serves as an officer with Poland All Sports Boosters, is involved with the Mahoning Valley Olde Car Club, is a youth soccer coach and has served his church as a deacon, usher and Sunday school teacher.
The only other candidate to file to run for village mayor is John H. Yerian III, a Republican. Longtime Mayor Ruth Wilkes, a Republican, is not seeking another term.
