Officials investigate fire on Emery Avenue



YOUNGSTOWN — Firefighters are investigating an Emery Avenue blaze that caused about $6,000 damage.

A neighbor returning home from work woke Calvin Humphrey around 2:40 a.m. Monday. Firefighters said someone apparently started a fire on the front porch of the two-story house.

Firefighters said Humphrey was outside when they arrived. The fire was contained to the first floor and front porch area of the house. Fire crews were at the scene about an hour.
