Youngstown woman killed in 2-car crash
HOWLAND Kathleen M. Booty, 52, of Youngstown, was killed in a two-car accident about 3:30 p.m. Sunday on Mines Road east of state Route 46.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Booty was driving a car.
The second driver, Donald A. Basile, 37, of Niles, was driving a pickup. The patrol didn't provide street addresses.
The patrol said Booty was going west when Basile was eastbound at a high rate of speed.
He entered into a left curve, lost control, and went partly off the right side of the road. The patrol said he came back on the road, went left of center, and his truck struck Booty's car.
The car was pushed off the right side of the road and came to rest off the south edge of the road.
The truck flipped onto its roof and slid east in the westbound lane before coming to a stop.
The patrol didn't say whether Basile was hurt.
The patrol said an investigation is continuing.
