EVENTS
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Here are some activities scheduled:
Oct. 14: The American Cancer Society's eighth annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk will begin at 10 a.m. at McKinley High School in Canton. Registration for the noncompetitive 5K, 3.1-mile walk, which raises awareness about breast cancer and funds for the American Cancer Society, is at 9 a.m. The route includes Bicentennial and Monument Parks. Oct. 18: The East Liverpool Breast Cancer Support Group of East Liverpool will have its Breast Cancer Extravaganza at the East Liverpool Motor Lodge. Doors open at 5 p.m. Seating is limited. Call for reservations at (330) 386-7377 by Friday. The cost is $20 per person. A rigatoni dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Home and garden prizes will be awarded, and there will be a Chinese basket raffle. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society. The event is being sponsored by the Tri State Cancer Center.
