YOUNGSTOWN — A Mahoning County grand jury has indicted a city man in a Wal-Mart robbery, a city couple in the robbery of two cash advance establishments, and a city woman in an arson fire.

Shawn Green, also known as Sean Green, 34, of Almyra Avenue, who was arrested May 25, was indicted this week on an aggravated robbery charge stemming from a May 19 incident at the Boardman Wal-Mart.

A store employee told police a man, later identified as Green, handed a cashier a note threatening to shoot her, grabbed a bag containing merchandise the cashier had rung up for him, left the store and entered a waiting car.

The cashier didn't see a weapon, but the robber kept his hand near his waist band as if he had one, according to a police report.

The grand jury indicted Michael A. Faiola Jr., 23, of Lynn Avenue, and his girlfriend, Julia V. Butler, 22, of Bears Den Road, on aggravated robbery charges in a May 31 incident at Ace Cash Advance on Youngstown-Poland Road.

What happened

An Ace employee told police a man, later identified as Faiola, came in, asked about a loan, and left, returning a few minutes later, demanding that she give him all the money in the register, and drawing a gun from his waistband. She hit the holdup duress button and he fled, according to police reports.

A witness saw Faiola run to a car outside Ace and heard him order its female driver to leave the scene, police said. Police said they found Faiola and Butler at Faiola's residence, where they took a BB gun and holster as evidence.

Butler is charged with aggravated robbery and Faiola with complicity to aggravated robbery in a May 29 incident at a Purpose Money store. Details on that incident were not available.

Also indicted was Rose Muldrow-Starkey, 52, on an aggravated arson charge in an early morning fire June 5 in her residence at 118 Ayers St. on the city's East Side.
