Purse-snatcher strikes
GIRARD — Police are looking for a man who ran off with the purse of an elderly city woman while she loaded her car with groceries Sunday evening in the parking lot of IGA on North State Street.
The woman told police she sat the purse on the hood of her car and the man grabbed it. The woman said she ran after and grabbed the man, but he still managed to get into a red Pontiac and leave the area.
The man is described as white, in his early 20s, 5 feet 10 inches and about 170 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweat shirt.
