Woman charged with running over friend

YOUNGSTOWN — A 40-year-old Bancroft Avenue woman who reportedly ran over her longtime friend — twice — after an argument outside the Evergeen's Tavern on South Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Thursday was expected to be arraigned today in municipal court.

A witness told police that when Robin L. Grieco got in her car and prepared to leave, Tammy Mitchell stood behind the vehicle and Grieco backed over her and then drove forward over her.

Police arrested Grieco on charges of felonious assault and no operator's license — it expired in 1997. The felonious assault charge was not filed by a prosecutor.

Mitchell, no age or address immediately available, was in satisfactory condition Thursday at St. Elizabeth Health Center. Police said she suffered a pelvis fracture and required several stitches on her side.
