Trumbull auditor's office honored
WARREN The Ohio Auditor's Office has awarded the Trumbull County Auditor's Office the Making Your Dollars Count Award for 2005 and 2006.
The award is given for excellence in financial reporting to counties that submit a Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, have no findings or issues present in their most recent audit report and have no other financial concerns, the Ohio Auditor's office said.
Matt Timbrook, eastern Ohio regional liaison for Ohio Auditor Mary Taylor, said the Trumbull County auditor is the only auditor's office in the eastern region that has earned the honor for 2005 and 2006.
The auditor's office is one of nine government entities such as school boards or cities in the region to earn the honor, Timbrook said. The region includes the counties of Trumbull, Ashtabula, Mahoning, Columbiana, Carroll, Harrison, Jefferson and Portage counties.
Other recipients are the Joseph Badger School District in northern Trumbull County, Lakeview school district in Cortland and the city of Salem.
Adrian Biviano was appointed Trumbull auditor Jan. 10, 2006, and elected the following November. His predecessor was David Hines, who retired in late 2005.
