Georgia man arrested; awaits extradition
YOUNGSTOWN Authorities arrested a man on the city's South Side who is wanted in the shooting death of a man in Georgia.
Dexter Patman, 22, who lives in the Atlanta area, was arrested at 6:05 p.m. Thursday at a traffic stop at Roxbury Avenue and Beechwood Place, said Dean Michael, coordinator of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.
Patman is wanted in the Oct. 26 shooting death of a man in Rockdale County, Ga., Michael said. He had no other details. Patman is charged there with murder, aggravated assault and using a firearm during commission of a crime.
The task force was assisted in the arrest by Youngstown, Boardman and Warren police and the Ohio Adult Parole Authority, Michael said.
Patman is in the Mahoning County Jail awaiting extradition to Georgia.
