Thief takes $1,518 worth of golf clubs
AUSTINTOWN A thief may be hitting the back nine after he stole more than $1,000 worth of golf clubs from a township business.
An unidentified perpetrator broke out a window with a tire iron at R-Ski-Pools and Water Sports at 5880 Mahoning Ave. around 4:32 a.m. Friday and then proceeded to remove $1,518 worth of clubs from the store.
A witness, who was nearby in his car, heard the crashing sound and watched the burglary.
He then followed the perpetrator as he drove behind the store and onto Norquest Boulevard.
The witness then chased the perpetrator's vehicle on North Raccoon Road until he lost sight of the vehicle on Meridian Road.
The witness described the vehicle as being a dark color possibly blue and having temporary Ohio tags with "L" as the first letter.
Police have no suspects at this time.
