Trumbull advisory council vice chairman resigns, citing future conflict of interest
WARREN Jennie H. Dennison-Budak, vice chairman and an original member of the Senior Services Advisory Council, has resigned, citing the possibility of a conflict of interest sometime in the future.
The advisory council in Trumbull County was appointed by commissioners to recommend and oversee spending for the $2.4 million to be raised annually from proceeds of a levy approved by voters in November.
Dennison-Budak, who is director of Interfaith Home Maintenance Service Inc. of Youngstown, said Mahoning County residents could also be considering a levy on the ballot sometime in 2007 that would raise funds for senior citizen services.
She said she would like to avoid the possibility that the existence of a levy campaign group would be a conflict of interest. Interfaith Home Maintenance would be likely to apply for any seniors levy funding.
In her letter to commissioners, she asked that Jan Bolchalk, who is serving as a paid staff member working for Trumbull's advisory council, be appointed to fill her position. Dennison-Budak, of Hubbard, said Bolchalk will complete her assignment as a paid staff member at the end of September. There are 11 board members.
