CAMPUS CLOSINGS
Area institutions
Several campuses in and around the Mahoning and Shenango valleys are closed or delayed due to inclement weather:
YOUNGSTOWN STATE UNIVERSITY: YSU canceled classes as of 3 p.m. Tuesday and announced that it would make a decision at 5 a.m. today regarding today's classes.
KENT STATE UNIVERSITY: Main and branch campuses canceled classes Tuesday afternoon. The main campus, Kent Salem and Kent Stark announced that classes would be canceled until 11 a.m. today while Kent Trumbull said classes would resume on time this morning unless local television and radio were advised otherwise.
PENN STATE SHENANGO: Canceled evening classes Tuesday, and will be closed all day today.
SLIPPERY ROCK UNIVERSITY: Canceled all classes for today, although the university will remain open with normal student services being provided.
WESTMINSTER COLLEGE: Canceled its graduate and lifelong learning program evening classes Tuesday and left the decision to cancel any Tuesday afternoon classes up to individual faculty members. The college was to decide by 6 a.m. today whether any classes would be canceled today.
