Task force captures Youngstown fugitive
YOUNGSTOWN Edward E. Taylor, 47, wanted by authorities on felonious assault charges, was captured Thursday by members of the FBI/Mahoning Valley Violent Crimes Task Force at 23 E. Auburndale Ave.
Taylor had been sought on two counts of felonious assault since November, and he appeared in the Fugitive of the Week section of The Vindicator.
He is accused of shooting up a car with two people inside in Youngstown.
Task force members who went to the South Side apartment called for a canine unit, and the dog found Taylor, of Youngstown, hiding in a closet.
Two women who lived at the apartment Charmaine Moore, 26, and Brenda Moore, 46 are charged with obstructing official business, task force members said.
Taylor's son, Edward E. Taylor II, is one of three people charged with the shooting death of James E. Dow, 28, of South Lakeview Avenue. Dow was found in the basement of 145 Thornton Ave. on Nov. 18. The others charged in that shooting are Michael W. Lee and D'Metri Lee, both of Youngstown.
