Conditional-use permit for drive-through
MINERAL RIDGE The Weathersfield Township Board of Zoning Appeals has granted a conditional-use permit to George Kuriatnyk to operate a beverage drive-through, where he will sell beer and/or alcohol at 2156 Youngstown-Warren Road.
The site is the location of the old Scandals nightclub, which burned down a few years ago. Part of the building was not burned and Kuriatnyk made improvements to the structure to allow operation of a drive-through.
Zoning inspector Sherri Craver said the property still needs an occupancy permit from the zoning office and a fire inspection.
Kuriatnyk told the board he is ready for the fire inspection, after which the zoning office can grant the occupancy permit.
The owner has made an application with the state for a liquor permit, but since he has not met all the local requirements, trustees have asked the state liquor control board to hold a hearing on his request for a liquor permit.
In other business, the board granted a variance request by Ron and Kelly Prokop to construct an attached garage with less than the required 40-foot rear setback at 2279 Lincoln Square, McDonald.
