City man taken to hospital with gunshot wounds



YOUNGSTOWN — A Lucius Avenue man was rushed to St. Elizabeth Health Center on Thursday afternoon with two gunshot wounds to the thigh.

Jermaine Beverly, 18, told police he was walking on West Philadelphia Avenue near Trenton Avenue when he heard several shots fired.

Beverly told police he did not see his assailant and could not identify a suspect.

Police were dispatched to the scene at 3:42 p.m. after receiving emergency calls from Philadephia Avenue residents.
