ON THE SIDE. . .
This and that from the world of Valley politics.
SAY WHAT? It depends on who you "talk" to.
The offices of U.S. Reps. Tim Ryan of Niles, D-17th, and Jason Altmire of McCandless, Pa., D-4th, each sent e-mails this week touting an Oct. 1 "tech belt" forum.
The event will bring business leaders and venture capitalists [isn't that a cool sounding job?] from the Cleveland, Youngstown, Akron and Pittsburgh areas together to discuss ways to attract advanced technology businesses to that region.
The language in the e-mails is identical except Ryan's has his name first and Altmire's has his name first in the headline announcing the forum. In Ryan's e-mail, he gets the first quote and Altmire goes second. It's reversed in Altmire's e-mail.
Altmire, a House freshman, defers to Ryan, who's serving his third term, with the next quote. In both e-mails Ryan gets the next quote.
