William F. Briguglio, 83
AUSTINTOWN William F. Briguglio, 83, passed away Saturday, Dec. 30, at his home.
He was born Oct. 11, 1923 in Connellsville, Pa., a son of the late William S. and Lillian Broom Briguglio.
A graduate of Monessen High School, William served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, serving in the 86th Infantry Division in the European and Pacific Theatres. He was owner of Campus Book and Supply and previously had owned Clary Business Machines.
William was a member of the Youngstown Board of Education, Youngstown Education Committee, was the 1971 Yohioan of the Year, served as Personnel Chairman of YETC and was a former President of Unita.
He is survived by his wife, the former Marilyn Meredith McQuillan, whom he married Oct. 11, 1995; four children, William (Doris) Briguglio Jr. of Sunrise, Fla., Kathleen (Bernie) Profato of Niles, Randall (Priscilla) Briguglio of Canfield and Elene (Bob) Gusch of Albuquerque, N.M.; three stepchildren, Renee Peterson of Poland and Charles McQuillan and Lynnette (Pat) DeChellis, both of Youngstown; four stepsisters, Stella Dikun of Liberty, Barbara Brown of Girard, Katherine Lucarelli of Niles and Carmel Lucarelli of Girard; a half brother, Frank; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Beside his parents, William was preceded in death by a son, Gary Briguglio, and two sisters, Pauline Centner and Louise Nichols.
There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Lawrence Benjamin Brockett Jr., 84
GAINESVILLE, FLA. Lawrence Benjamin Brockett Jr., 84, died Dec. 7, 2006, in Gainesville, Fla., where he was undergoing medical treatment at Shands Hospital.
Lawrence, better known as Bill, was born May 30, 1922 in Youngstown, the only son of Lawrence and Dorothy Brockett.
He was a graduate of The Rayen School and Yale University. During WWII, he served as a captain in the Air Transport Command, Pacific Division.
Following the war, he worked for a period at the Packard Youngstown Motor Co., after which he relocated to Los Angeles, where he joined the Honeywell Co., eventually retiring in Philadelphia, as national manager of Systems and Construction, Industrial Products Division.
They moved to Essex, Calif., where he became executive vice president of Steam Specialties Co., involved with nuclear submarines, and entailing partial residence in San Francisco. He also spent considerable time in Gainesville, at the University of Florida, working on a partial simulator as a teaching tool for anesthesiologists.
Several years ago, they moved to Middle Haddam, Conn., on the Connecticut River, where he particularly enjoyed sailing. They spent their winters in La Jolla, Calif.
He is survived by his wife, the former Betty Welsh; a stepdaughter, Donna Abbott of Portland, Ore.; and a stepson, Thomas Abbott of Denver, and his children. He is also survived by a sister, Nancy Tod of Youngstown and three nieces, Dorothy Tod of Warren, Vt., Nancy Tod McFadden of Woodland Hills, Calif., and Sallie Tod Dutton of Youngstown.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence Benjamin Brockett III, who died in 1967 at age five.
Burial will be at San Gabriel Cemetery, following a memorial service, to be held on Jan. 8, 2007 at the Church of Our Savior in San Gabriel, Calif.
Arrangements are being handled by Turner and Stevens Alhambra Mortuary in Alhambra, Calif.
C. Dean Bruce, 75
HUBBARD There will be services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home for C. Dean Bruce, 75, of 601 W. Park Ave. No. 102, who passed away Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Dean was born July 11, 1931 in Aliquippa, Pa., a son of Kenneth and Marie Hamilton Bruce, and was raised by Fred and Grace Miller of Youngstown.
He worked for Shane Security in Youngstown, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Liberty Presbyterian Church, and several different organizations, including the American Legion in Hubbard where he was former vice commander, Hubbard Christians in Action, and the Hubbard Food Bank. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict.
He leaves his wife, Rita Lewis Richmond, whom he married July 3, 1982; two daughters, Regina (John Sr.) Carson of Austintown and Rebecca (Ray) Bruner-Rackoff of Hubbard; brothers and sisters, Jack (Rita) Bruce of Aliquippa, Kermit (Linda) Evans of Rochester, N.Y., James (Frieda) Evans of Dayton, Anna Marie (Bill) Kimbull of Wellston, Sandra Evans of Wellston, Ronald (Betty) Bruce of Darlington, Pa., and Debbie (Mark) Kiss of Aliquippa; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris) Conway, Vinny Bruner, John (Paula) Carson Jr. and Kimberly Gadd; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Marie Bruce and Fred and Grace Miller who raised him; a brother, Kenneth Bruce; and a son-in-law, Vince Bruner.
Calling hours will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Helen J. Ditata, 82
YOUNGSTOWN There will be services at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home in Hubbard for Helen J. Ditata, 82, of 146 S. Osborne Ave., who passed away Thursday at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Helen was born Nov. 8, 1924 in Youngstown, a daughter of George and Lucille Campbell Struble.
She was a homemaker and a lifelong area resident.
She leaves her husband, Anthony J. Ditata Sr., whom she married May 1, 1945; two sons, Anthony J. (Donna) Ditata Jr. of Struthers and Roger J. Ditata of Youngstown; two sisters, Thelma Chenoweth of Florida and Audrey June Wylie of Austintown; two brothers, Edward Struble of Youngstown and Fred Struble of Poland; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ruth Reinhart and Mavis Houston; and two brothers, Dale Struble and Dean Struble.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Winona Dell Morrow, 92
COLUMBUS There will be funeral services at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel for Winona Dell Morrow, 92, formerly of Canfield, who passed away at Whetstone Care Center in Columbus.
Winona was born Oct. 7, 1914 in McMechen, W.Va., the daughter of George and Laura (Keller) West.
A homemaker, Winona married James W. Morrow on Feb. 6, 1937.
She is survived by her son, Raymond Morrow of Worthington; a daughter-in-law, Cynthia Silver of Worthington; three sisters, Doris Cannon of Stephenson, Va., Jean McCall of Canfield and Betty Blough of Salem; two brothers, George and Keith West, both of Canfield; and two grandchildren, Keegan Morrow and Zoe Silver.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, Herman and Donald West.
Friends and family may call Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Edward Shorty Parkman, 82
YOUNGSTOWN There will be a funeral service at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Third Baptist Church for Edward Shorty Parkman, 82, who departed this life Monday at Danridge Burgundi Manor.
Mr. Parkman was born Sept. 28, 1924 in Youngstown, a son of Rand Sr. and Lizzie Parker Parkman.
He retired from the U.S. Post Office, was Maitre D at Tippecanoe Country Club, was manager of the Youngstown Club, and owner/operator of the Elks Place. He was a member of the church and its board of trustees. He was a WWII Navy veteran.
His wife, the former Myrtle L. Cookie Robinson, whom he married July 27, 1948, died March 19, 1990.
He leaves a daughter, Wendy J. Moore of Houston; three sisters, Dorothy Hopkins and Marilyn (Frank) Wright, both of Youngstown and Callie (Hunter) Posey of Detroit; a brother, Rand (Darnella) Parkman Jr. of Macon, Ga.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur, John and Ralph Parkman; and three sisters, Mattie Clinkscale, Ruth Turnage and Connie Eaddy.
Viewing will be from noon to 4 p.m. today at the F.D. Mason Memorial Funeral Home.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church where the Masonic memorial service will be at 9:30 a.m.
Anthony Ant Perez, 31
CAMPBELL There will be services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home for Anthony Ant Perez, 31, who departed this life Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006.
Mr. Perez was born Dec. 7, 1975 in Youngstown, a son of Teodoro Jr. and Aida Santiago Perez.
He attended St. Rose of Lima and was an art and music enthusiast.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Aida Lucy Perez and her companion Amos Ellis; his wife, Lisa; his children, Anthony, Marcus, Angel, Brandon and Jullian Perez, and Anthony Ramun, all of Youngstown; four brothers, Luis and Frank Perez, Rick and Michael Burr; his loving grandmother, Annie Perez; grandfather, Teodoro L. Perez Sr.; and a host of aunts, uncles, other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Teodoro Perez Jr., and grandparents, Ramon and Ramona Santiago.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Erna Sattler
LIBERTY TOWNSHIP Erna Sattler of Warner Road passed away Tuesday, Jan. 2, at her home.
Erna was born Nov. 17, 1928 in Straubing, Germany, a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Kandler.
Erna leaves her husband at home, Robert Sattler, whom she married in 1960; two sons, Erich (Anita) Kandler of Straubing and Robert Jr. (Michele) Sattler of Lakeland, Fla.; three grandchildren, Abigail, Benjamin and Michael Sattler; a brother, Joseph Kandler of Germany; and four sisters, Franziska Freunauer, Isabella Weber, Paula Raml and Marille Bachuber, all of Germany.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Todorovich.
There are no services.

Zenovia Tunanidas, 84
Together Again
POLAND Services will be held today, Jan. 5, 2007 at 11 a.m. at St. Johns Greek Orthodox Church, 4955 Glenwood Ave. in Boardman, for Zenovia Tunanidas, 84, who died at St. Elizabeth Hospital on Jan. 2, 2007, after a long illness following complications from a spinal cord injury occurring in 2003.
Zenovia was born on Nov. 6, 1922 in Campbell, Ohio, the second of five children of Emmanuel and Amelia (Sevastou) Balale.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Peter Tunanidas, whom she married on Jan. 26, 1947 and died on Dec. 9, 2000.
Mrs. Tunanidas, was a graduate of Youngstown State University, and was a Reading/LD teacher with the Youngstown City Schools for more than 15 years. Her teaching career began at St. Edwards Elementary School in 1972. She was loved by her students who called her Mrs. T.
Zenovia was an active member of the Parents of the Deaf Study Club, and the Daughters of Penelope, Methone Chapter 89. She was also a member of the Asia Minor Society, St. John and St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church Senior Citizens Groups. She was a member of the State Teachers Retirement System, the Mahoning County Retired Teachers Association, and the Mahoning County Reading Teachers Association. She was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and its Ladies Philoptochos Society and taught Sunday School for several years. Zenovia was also a member of St. Johns Greek Orthodox Church and Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church.
In 2002, she was named Mother of the Year by St. Johns Ladies Philoptochos Society for her efforts in raising a successful deaf child.
Mrs. Tunanidas was a devoted grandmother to her three grandchildren. She loved reading stories to them and was a great homemaker. She was known for her warm smile and wit.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Dr. Amelia (John) Tunanidas-Pantelis of Clearwater, Fla. and Miss Irene Tunanidas with whom she made her home, and an adopted son, Phillip Tunanidas of Youngstown; a grandson, George (Dr. Katie) Neuendorf and two granddaughters, Stephanie and Cynthia Neuendorf. She leaves a brother, John (Kathy) Balale in Campbell and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her beloved godchildren, Atty. Christina Matthews of Columbus, Michael Balale of Torrance, Calif. and Barbara Tunanidis Bundy of Terrell, N.C.
Besides her husband, George and her parents, Zenovia was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Balale; and twin sisters, Antoinette and Mary.
She will lay in state today, Jan. 5, 2007, from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. at St. Johns Greek Orthodox Church.
The family expresses their most sincere gratitude to Forum Health At-Home Care; Drs. Alex Vrable, Stephen Evan and to the staff of the MVI Home Health Care and Hospice for the exceptional care Zenovia received during her long illness.
The family suggests donations in Mrs. Tunanidas memory to the endowment funds at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 220 N.
