Edward Harold Guidos, 81
CAMPBELL Edward Harold Guidos, 81, died Saturday afternoon at The Hospice of the Valley House.
Mr. Guidos was born June 30, 1925 in Campbell, a son of John and Anna Jaros Guidos. He was a lifelong resident of Campbell.
He was a 1944 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and attended Wayne College in Michigan for three years.
He was a barber and owned and operated Guidos Barber Shop on Robinson Road for 55 years. He also worked at the Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Corporation retiring as head supervisor in January of 1993. After retirement he worked at Doms Barber Shop in Boardman for five years. Throughout his career he had a business of wall washing and wall papering.
He was a member of Faith Fellowship Church of God in Struthers, where he served as head usher. He was a former member of Victory Assembly of God and St. Johns Catholic Church, both in Campbell. At St. Johns, he was an active member serving as usher and St. Johns School Council.
Mr. Guidos was a veteran of WWar II serving as Petty Officer with the U. S. Coast Guard.
In 1963, he was elected member of Council, 2nd Ward, of the City of Campbell and served for two years. He was president of the Jednota Lodge, where he had to speak Slovak to the members. He was elected to be the 8th player of the Ladies 500 Club.
He was an avid fisherman and actually caught a bird in mid-flight while casting. He was a bowler and golfer and achieved a hole-in-one at the Countryside Golf Course. His claim to fame was continuously being mistaken for Jack Lemon.
He leaves his wife, the former Anna Marie Camacci, whom he married Aug. 4, 1951; two daughters, Pamela (John) Guidos-Melnik of Sugarland, Texas and Therese (Daryl) Betras of Girard; two sons, Ronald (Lorraine) Guidos of Campbell and Pastor Edward (Jaime) Guidos of Brownlee Woods; two sisters, Margaret Guidos of Parma and Rose Flowers of Birmingham, Mich.; a brother, Jim Guidos of Campbell; and three grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Mr. Guidos was preceded in death by three brothers, Michael, John and George Guidos; and five sisters, Mary Schuler, Betty Smith, Pauline Kane, Frances Fabian, and Ann Guidos-Greene.
There will be funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Guidoss family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of the Preintermediate Care and the Fourth Floor of St. Elizabeth Health Care Center and to the staff at all the nursing homes for the care and dedication to Mr. Guidos.

Michael A. Kazy, 88
BOARDMAN There will be funeral services at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Kubina Yuhasz Funeral Home, Boardman Chapel, 5925 Market St. and at 10 a.m. at Saint Stanislaus Church for Michael A. Kazy, 88, who died Saturday.
Mr. Kazy was born for Aug. 16, 1918 in Youngstown, a son of Michael and Christine Repasky Kazy.
He was employed as a tallyman in the 43 inch mill at U.S. Steel Corp. for 40 years, retiring in 1976.
He was a member of the church, Catholic War Veterans Post 1222.
Michael was an avid sports fan with Notre Dame and the Yankees was his favorite teams. He coached Youngstown Little League and Pony League Baseball Teams for many years. He enjoyed woodworking and his rose garden.
Michael is survived by his wife, the former Helen B. Potkanowicz, whom he married Oct. 4, 1947; a son, Michael (Mary) Kazy of Cincinatti; two daughters, Dolores (Dr. Frank) Rich of Canfield and Patty (Dan) Rotar of Boardman; grandchildren, Mary Beth, Jeanette and Michael Kazy, Frank, Jeffery and Michael Rich, Danny, Matthew and Michael Rotar; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe, John and Martin Kazy; and four sisters, Mary Matko, Sophie Kazy, Pauline Antonoff and Margaret Caspary.

Barbara Ann Lias, 61
DAYTON, PA. Barbara Ann Lias, 61, formerly of Youngstown, passed away Jan. 19, at Armstrong Memorial Medical Center.
She was born June 10, 1945 in Sagamore, to Peter and Virginia (Zlotkowski) Kostella.
Mrs. Lias was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Sagamore.
She retired in 2002 as a secretary, where she then moved back to the area.
She loved her family and most of all her grandchildren and her dog, Bella.
She is survived by her husband, Robert D. Lias of Dayton, whom she married Oct. 10, 1964; a son, Robert D. Lias Jr. and his wife Denise of Hubbard; Crissy Gallaugher and husband David of Hubbard; three grandsons, Robbie, Tyler and Zac Lias, all of Hubbard; a stepgrandson, DJ Gallaugher of Hubbard; two brothers, Peter Kostella and wife Carol of Indiana and Ronald Kostella and wife Susan of Sagamore; a sister, Kathryn Weiss and husband William of Shelocta; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends will be received today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home in Plumville.
There will be a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Marys Roman Catholic Church in Yatesboro, with Father Michael P. Sikon, celebrant.
Interment will be made at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Sagamore.

Edward J. Ochman, 72
BOARDMAN There will be a memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24 at St. Christine Church for Edward J. Ochman, 72, who died of cardiac arrest Friday at his residence.
Edward, known as Ned was born March 10, 1934 in Youngstown, a son of the late Michael and Marie Lavaty Ochman.
He graduated from Ursuline High School in 1952, he attended Dayton University and was a Navy veteran. Ned worked in Sales in the transportation industry.
He relished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid golfer and fisherman and loved spending time at the ocean.
He leaves his daughters, Michelle Marie (Douglas) Beller of Hollywood, Fla., Joy Marie (Brian) Hart of Westervile; three grandchildren, Brittany and Andrew Beller and Maxwell Hart.
His former wife, Joyce (Reardon) Ochman, passed away in Sept. 13, 2006 after a five-year battle with lung cancer.
Besides his parents and former wife, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Cheri Ann Ochman and Christine Ochman.

Rosemary Quinn OMalley, 79
BOARDMAN There will be services at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Fox Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Columba Cathedral for Rosemary Quinn OMalley, 79, who died Saturday morning at Saint Elizabeth Health Center.
Mrs. OMalley was born July 13, 1927 in Youngstown, the daughter of John L and Katherine Burke Quinn and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a 1944 graduate of Ursuline High School. She received her degree in education from Youngstown College, where she was Madi Gras Queen her senior year.
Rosemary was a member of St. Columba Parish all of her life. She was also a member of the Newman Center, Junior Newman, Catholic Collegiate and Youngstown Country Club.
She is survived by her husband, Howard J. OMalley Jr., whom she married June 10, 1950; two sons, Breen (Lori) OMalley of Canfield and John (Verna) OMalley of Gulfport, Miss.; and three grandchildren, Howard Jay OMalley IV, Séan OMalley and Bridget OMalley.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Howard J. OMalley III.

YOUNGSTOWN - Robert E. Otto, 71, of Youngstowns wes side, passed away Friday afternoon at the Cleveland Clinic.
He leaves his wife, Helen Olejniczak Otto; a son, Thomas Otto; two daughters, Sandra Otto and Linda (Ed) Ponikwia; a sister, Lois Jean (Grady) Alexander; three nieces, Cheryl (Sam) Ellis, Carol (Mark) Capuano, and Carla (Danny) Quinn; two nephews, Ronald (Valerie) Alexander and Todd Alexander; and five great-nieces, Jada (Jeremiah) Marek, Nia Capuano, and Felicia, Laura, and Amanda Alexander.

FORT MYERS, FLA. There will be funeral services Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home, 216 Coitsville Road, and a mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Cyril & Methodius Church, 252 W. Wood Street for Albert F. Trolio III, 26, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Youngstown, who entered into rest Saturday morning at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
He was very active at the YMCA, where he spent three to four days a week participating in numerous youth activities. He was also an altar server at St. Cyril & Methodius Church in Youngstown.
Before moving to Florida, he was employed by Hornyaks Concessions, Trolio Auto Body and The Buckeye Miller Company and Yustin Interiors. Alberts favorite hobbies were Sally, his 2002 Honda Civic, and his motorcycle.
Albert was born May 1, 1980 in Fort Myers, Fla. He was the son of Vickie and Richard Hornyak of Coitsville and Albert and Sandy Trolio of Boardman. He attended school in Girard for 10 years and graduated in 1998 from Chaney High School in Youngstown.
He leaves many accomplishments and precious memories to be shared by his wife, the former Christine M. Long, whom he married on April 22, 2006. He also leaves behind a sister, Toni M. Trolio and her partner, Trina M. Coss; a sister, Tyler Trolio, and a brother, Kory Trolio. He has left behind his Aunt Barbara King of Florida; his Uncle William Laudermilt and his wife, Angel Olson-Laudermilt of Lowellville; his grandparents, Mabel and Walter Laudermilt of Boardman and Irene and Edward Hornyak of Youngstown. He leaves behind his nieces, Jamileh, Erika and Livia Laudermilt, Melanie Coss, Lena DAmico, Erin Bryan, Julia Kirchner and Mercedes Long. He leaves his nephews, Dominick, Anthony and Johnathon DAmico, Nicholas,. Christopher, Tristan and Trenton Kirchner, Jordan Long, Justin Long, Mathew Pregi and Jacob Pregi.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Doris and Albert Trolio Sr., and his brother, Ricky Allan Hornyak Jr.
Albert (Bert) will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Paul E. Zimmerman, 93
SARASOTA, FLA. There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Lake House West Meeting Room for Paul E. Zimmerman, 93, formerly of Alliance, who passed away Jan. 18.
He was born Oct. 5, 1913 in Ashland, moving in 1978 from Alliance.
He was a graduate of Rutgers University School of Banking.
He was bank president at First National Bank in Alliance.
He served during WWII in the Signal Air Warning Battalion.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sarasota, a member of the Sahib Shrine Temple in Sarasota, Scottish Rite of Youngstown and the Hillman Masonic Lodge in Youngstown.
He is survived by four grandchildren.
