Janet Brandmiller Mullane Bates, 94
YOUNGSTOWN Janet Brandmiller Mullane Bates, 94, passed away June 29, 2008 at her home.
She was born June 27, 1914 in Youngstown, to Judge Herman and Maude Miller Brandmiller.
She graduated from Canfield High School and attended Wittenberg University, where she played the violin.
Janet was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, Camp Fire Girls Board of Directors, The Junior League of Youngstown, New Century Literary Club, the GROUP, Youngstown Country Club and its Golfing Association, as well as, its Duplicate Bridge Club.
She served as president of the Garden Club of Youngstown during it 50th year celebration and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church for 68 years.
She worked as a National Flower Show Judge, a medical technologist for Dr. O.J. Walker, and a real estate agent for 20 years.
She married her first husband, William Neville Mullane Sr. on Nov. 20, 1941. He was the founder and president of Albco Foundry, he died Feb. 24, 1984.
She is survived by her current husband, Robert Spencer Bates, whom she married Aug. 4, 1990; daughters, Rebecca Altdoerffer and her husband, Fred of East Berlin, Pa. and Janet Fetter and her husband, Thomas of Cumberland, R.I. and Kiawah, S.C.; son, William Neville Mullane Jr. and his wife, Kathi of Columbiana; and her daughter-in-law, Georgann Mullane of Canfield, the widow of her youngest son, Christopher, who died July 22, 2006.
She also leaves nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Her sister, Pauline Brandmiller Post; her brother, Herman Brandmiller; and Dr. Barclay M. Brandmiller are deceased.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church.
Family and friends may call at 10 a.m. at the parlor of the church.

Elizabeth Betty Bindas, 94
YOUNGSTOWN Services will be Thursday 9:15 a.m. at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel and 10 a.m. at St. Peter and Paul Ukranian Orthodox Church for Elizabeth Betty Bindas, 94, who died Monday at the Hospice House.
Betty was born Aug. 11, 1913 in New York City, the daughter of Peter and Catherine Lucko.
She had worked in the finance department at City Hall for the City of Youngstown for over 20 years, retiring in 1985.
She was a member of the American Business Womans Association and Public Employees Retirement.
Later in life she enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and attending church functions.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Bindas, whom she married, July 25, 1946; a son, John Lucko; and a brother, Pete Lucko.
She will always be remembered by her twin sister, Rose Ridarsky; her daughter, Maxine Gordon; son-in-law, James Gordon; grandson, Craig Marian; and granddaughter, Jennifer Marian.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m., where a Paristas prayer service will be at 7:45 p.m..
In lieu of flowers, the family requests material tributes take the form of donation to the St. Peter and Paul Church Renovation Fund or Hospice of the Valley.

Rudolph J. Bohn, 77
HILLSVILLE Rudolph J. Bohn, 77, died Saturday evening at Boardman Specialty Care & Rehabilitation Center after a short illness.
Mr. Bohn was born Oct. 4, 1930 in Yugoslavia, the son of Joseph Bohn Sr. and Aloisia (Horvat) Bohn.
He came to the U.S. and to Hillsville in 1952.
He worked for Carbon Limestone Company and T.C. Ready Mix, retiring in 1995.
He enjoyed working on cars and was a member of St. Lawrence Church.
Mr. Bohn leaves his daughter, Kristine Bohn Morris; four grandchildren, Matthew, Timothy Michael, Katie Lynn and Michael Adam; one great-granddaughter, Zoe; four sisters, Elizabeth Ripp of Germany, Eva Ronci of Florida, Anna McCollums of Hillsville and Katharina (Rick) Bigley of Rock Mount, N.C.; one sister-in-law, Ruth Bohn; 18 nieces and nephews; 19 great-nieces and nephews; and two stepsons, Michael and Peter Carbone.
Besides his parents and wife, Marie Carbon Bohn, he was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Bohn; one sister, Mary Cipot; and three brothers-in-law, Martin Ripp, Stefan Cipot and Joseph Schleng.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland, where prayer services will be offered Thursday at 9:45 a.m.
A funeral Mass will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence Church in Hillsville.
