Elizabeth Betty Bindas, 94
YOUNGSTOWN Services will be Thursday 9:15 a.m. at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel and 10 a.m. at St. Peter and Paul Ukranian Orthodox Church for Elizabeth Betty Bindas, 94, who died Monday at the Hospice House.
Betty was born Aug. 11, 1913 in New York City, the daughter of Peter and Catherine Lucko.
She had worked in the finance department at City Hall for the City of Youngstown for over 20 years, retiring in 1985.
She was a member of the American Business Womans Association and Public Employees Retirement.
Later in life she enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and attending church functions.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Bindas, whom she married, July 25, 1946; a son, John Lucko; and a brother, Pete Lucko.
She will always be remembered by her twin sister, Rose Ridarsky; her daughter, Maxine Gordon; son-in-law, James Gordon; grandson, Craig Marian; and granddaughter, Jennifer Marian.
Friends may call today from 5 to 8 p.m., where a Paristas prayer service will be at 7:45 p.m..
In lieu of flowers, the family requests material tributes take the form of donation to the St. Peter and Paul Church Renovation Fund or Hospice of the Valley.
Sue Cummins, 59
HUBBARD Sue Cummins, 59, died Monday evening, June 30, 2008, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 24, 1948, in Cleveland, a daughter of Thomas M. and Ruth G. Herre Reeves and lived in Hubbard since 1971.
Sue was a homemaker and a member of St. Patrick Church in Hubbard. She enjoyed crafts and spending time with her family and friends.
She leaves her husband, William A. Cummins Sr., whom she married on Sept. 2, 1967; a son, William A. (Mary Beth Foltz) Cummins Jr. of Hubbard; a daughter, Candace M. (Jonas) Svensson of Hubbard; a brother, Frank (Charlotte) Loria of Parma; a sister, Romaine Reeves of Texas; and a grandson, Zachary W. Svensson.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, 8:30 a.m. at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and at 9 a.m. at St. Patrick Church in Hubbard.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Raymond M. DeJulio, 89
HUBBARD Raymond M. DeJulio, 89, died Monday morning, June 30, 2008 at his residence.
He was born Feb. 2, 1919, in Youngstown, a son of Salvatore and Lucia Campana DeJulio and had lived in Hubbard for more than 60 years.
Mr. DeJulio was a self-employed contractor for many years and also co-owned and operated the Hubbard Eagle newspaper, along with his brother Al, for more than 20 years. He also worked in the sales department for WNIO radio.
An avid horse racing fan, Ray enjoyed reading and served with the Army in WWII and also with the Civilian Conservation Corps.
He leaves his wife, the former Mary E. Diego, whom he married Aug. 31, 1946; a brother, Alfred M. DeJulio of Hubbard; two sisters, Della Palmer of Laverne, Calif. and Eleanor Conti of Palm Desert, Calif.; having no children of his own, he was very close to his many nieces and nephews, whom he thought of as his own children.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Aldo, John and Robert DeJulio.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home.

John F. Jack Ditchey, 69
AUSTINTOWN John F. Jack Ditchey, 69, died of sepsis, Monday June 30, 2008 at 1:45 p.m. at Northside Hospital Surgical Intensive Care Unit with all of his family at his side.
He entered Northside, May 13, 2008 for surgery for a broken leg, and endured five unplanned abdominal surgeries. He fought as hard as a person possibly could to survive. He was 69.
Jack was born July 23, 1938 in Port Carbon, Pa. As a young child he moved to Newton Falls, where his father found work at the Ravenna Arsenal during WWII.
Jack graduated from Newton Falls High in 1956, where he was on the football and baseball teams, and went to Boys State. While in high school, Jack often worked before the school day to help his family
He graduated from Bowling Green State University, June 4, 1961, with a BS in Business Administration, having paid his own tuition by working. At BGSU, he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He graduated in five years because he took a year off to help his family. He excelled in biology and geology (especially fossils).
