Sister Deann Bartos, H.M., 66
FAIRVIEW PARK Sister Deann Bartos, H.M. (Mary A. Bartos), 66, who resided in Fairview Park, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at the Cleveland Clinic.
She joined the Sisters of the Humility of Mary in 1960 and was a dedicated nurse and physical therapist for 31 years in the Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Youngstown Dioceses.
She is survived by the Sisters of the Humility of Mary Congregation; four brothers, Frank J. Bartos of Rocky River, Richard G. Bartos of Strongsville, Robert M. Bartos of Fairview Park and Jack A. Bartos of Lake Alfred, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Agnes (Faulhaber) Bartos and sister, Ann Marie Bartos.
Calling hours will be today, Feb. 18, 2009, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., with a wake service at 7:15 p.m. and Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 3 p.m. at the Villa Maria Chapel in Villa Maria, Pa.

Sister Albert Marie Beil, 96
YOUNGSTOWN Sister Albert Marie Beil, OSU, of the Ursuline Sisters of Youngstown, died Feb. 17, 2009, at age 96.
She was born in Youngstown on Feb. 24, 1912, the daughter of Albert F. and Margaret Logue Beil.
She attended St. Patrick School in Youngstown and graduated from Ursuline High School in 1930. She entered the Ursuline Sisters of Youngstown on Feb. 2, 1930 and professed final vows on Aug. 19, 1935.
Sister Albert Marie earned a Bachelor of Science in education in 1942 and a Master of Arts in 1949, both from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. She also attended St. John College, Cleveland; Duquesne University, Pittsburgh; and the University of Notre Dame.
In her 52 years of active ministry, Sister Albert Marie taught at St. Columba and the Immaculate Conception Elementary Schools as well as Cardinal Mooney and Ursuline High Schools, where she served on the faculty for 37 years. After she retired from teaching, she directed the Ursuline Sisters Altar Bread Department until her retirement in 1988. Since then she had continued to be active in ministry at the Motherhouse, most recently praying for the needs of the church and the world.
Sister Albert Marie leaves her sisters in community and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Sister Agnes Marie, OSU and Madeleine Beil Ziegler; and three brothers, Albert A., Neale and Richard Beil.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 19, at the Ursuline Motherhouse, 4250 Shields Road in Canfield.
Friends may call from 3 to 4:45 p.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 5 p.m.
Donations may be made to the Ursuline Sisters of Youngstown.

James Albert Bixby, 65
WESTERVILLE James Albert Bixby, 65, passed away at his home on Feb. 16, 2009, with his family at his side.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Linda Eagle Bixby; son, William Bixby (Angela); daughter, Jill Collins; grandson, Davon; sister, Linda J. Bixby; and numerous cousins.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Tilton Bixby and Jane Dixon Bixby.
He graduated from North High School and the University of Cincinnati with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and also attended Northwestern University on a National Science Foundation scholarship. Jim was employed by MS Consultants Inc. for almost 40 years. He loved his profession and promoted his love of traffic engineering by mentoring young engineers, and his involvement in the Institute of Traffic Engineering, where he was a Fellow and was president of Ohio Section ITE as well. He also served as a regional director on the International Board of Direction of ITE.
Jim loved traveling, especially in the West to the National Parks, and had a passion for learning and reading and had a deep appreciation of history. One of his favorite sayings was the following, God grant us serenity to accept the things we cannot change, courage to change the things we can and wisdom to know the difference. Something his family will try to remember in the days ahead.
Friends and family may pay their respects Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home, 220 S. State Street, Westerville, OH 43081.
Private internment by the family at a later date.
The family encourages donations in his memory to the Prostate Cancer Foundation or HomeReach Hospice.

Perry D. Braxton Sr., 74
YOUNGSTOWN The pendulum of time swings back and forth, and upon each swing, a new life springs forth, and a life passes into eternity, back to our Mighty God that gave it.
God spoke to and called home Perry D. Braxton Sr., 74, on Monday, Feb. 16, 2009.
Mr. Braxton was born on May 20, 1934 in Selma, Ala., the son of Willie P. and Annie Madison Braxton and came to make Youngstown his home at an early childhood age.
Mr. Braxton served his country proudly during the Korean War from 1952 until 1955 as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne and was honorably discharged from the Army. He worked 34 years for U.S. Steel and was employed in the security field for Wells Fargo and General Extrusions. He also worked as a driver for Boulevard Services Inc., retiring in 2005.
He leaves to mourn his passing, two daughters, Cheryl Braxton of Maryland and Valarie Braxton-Thompson of Youngstown; a son, Perry Braxton Jr. of Youngstown; five sisters, Corrine Christian of Youngstown, Elma Darty of Inkster, Mich., Inez Cauley of Cleveland, Ann (Leonard) West of Las Vegas and Lula (James) Hardy of Merrillville, Ind.; three grandchildren, Brayonna and Kendra Thompson and Adrian Foster Jr. of Youngstown; long time friends, Nancy Braxton Potter and Felicia Johnson-Braxton; four stepchildren, Machelle Rhodes, Charles Rhodes Jr. and Renee Patterson, all of Youngstown, and Victor Bush of Louisville, Ky.; and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends, who loved him dearly. He will be sorely missed.
Mr. Braxton was preceded in death by his parents; three sons, Kevin, Kelvin and Anthony Craig Braxton; a brother-in-law, Otis Christian Sr.; and nephews, Otis Jr. and Joseph Christian and Marian Mass Rhodes Braxton.
At his request, there will be no funeral services. Homegoing memorial services will be held at a later date.

Robert Robb M. Brown, 42
WEST HOLLYWOOD, CALIF. Services will be Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church for Mr. Robert Robb M. Brown, 42, formerly of Youngstown, who passed away at his residence on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009.
Robert was born June 22, 1966 in Youngstown, a son of R. J. Joe Jenkins and Mary Ethel Norwood Brown.
He was a 1984 graduate and honor student at Ursuline High School. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelors degree in human resource management and was a member of its Hall of Fame. He was also a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. He had extensive work experience with Quaker Oats Co., Oxy Petroleum Co. and was presently employed with Fox Regional Sports Network P.H.R. in North Hollywood and Teva Pharmaceuticals.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory, his mommy, Mary Ethel Brown-Ford of Youngstown; two sisters, Pamela L. Brown-Parker of Trotwood and Roslyn Y. Brown of Youngstown; a niece, Misty E. Brown of Cincinnati; a nephew, Seth J. Parker of Trotwood; great-niece, Lexus M. Willis of Cincinnati; an uncle, Wayne Duvall of Youngstown; stepsisters and stepbrothers, Allen (Elsie) Ford Jr. of Milford, Del., Ray P. (Linda) Ford of Columbus, Harold M. Albert M. Bush, 85
AUSTINTOWN There will be a funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Albert M. Bush, 85, who passed away Monday at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Al was born Oct. 23, 1923 in Youngstown, a son of the late Joseph and Anna (Straziak) Bushofsky.
He was of the Roman Catholic faith. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and then retired after 30 years of service at Republic Steel in the Electrical Weld Department.
In his spare time, Al loved painting pictures and making afghans, and use to enjoy fishing.
He is survived by his wife, the former Betty June Rush, whom he married Nov. 10, 1982; three children, Albert (Jolyn) Bush, Linda (Joe) Ventresco and Lois (John) Mullen, all of Youngstown; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ann Marr of Hubbard and Margaret Kuzniak of Boardman; stepdaughter, Carol OKelley of Waldorf, Md.; stepson, Richard Erboe of Harvedegrace, Md.; four stepgrandsons; two stepgreat-grandsons; and best friends, Lois and Harry Slayton of Youngstown.
Besides his parents, Al was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph Bushofsky, Marty Bush and John Bushofsky and a sister, Mary Lou Storey.

Patricia Loughner DeLosso, 84
AUSTINTOWN Patricia Loughner DeLosso, 84, passed away Monday afternoon, Feb. 16, 2009, at Hospice House following a brief illness.
Pat was born on Feb. 23, 1924, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late George Dewey and Margaret T. James Loughner, and came to Youngstown as a child.
She was a member of the first June graduating class at Chaney High School in 1941 and was honored as Chaneys first prom queen.
Mrs. DeLosso was a member of the Mahoning United Methodist Church.
Pat leaves a daughter, Lynn Benjamin of Farmington, Minn.; three grandsons, Chris, Eric and Phil Benjamin; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Jacquelyn N. Harvey of Hubbard; two nephews, Richard and Paul Harvey; and a very dear friend, Bob Williams of Austintown.
Her husband, Henry C. DeLosso, whom she married in Winchester, W.Va. on Jan. 21, 1974, died in 1988. A brother, George Daryl Loughner is also deceased.

AUSTINTOWN There will be a funeral service at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at the Western Reserve United Methodist Church for Alyssa R. Emrich, 17, who passed away Sunday evening from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Lyss was born Jan. 24, 1992 in Youngstown, the daughter of Greg and Kathleen M. (Zitello) Emrich.
Lyss was currently a junior at Austintown Fitch High School, and was very active within her school. Lyss was on the Speech and Debate Team, a member of Key Club, was a tutor for German, was a honor student and was a member of 4-H.
Lyss enjoyed dancing and took ballet at Torries Dance Studio. she also enjoyed horse back riding, ran track, played volley ball, enjoyed taking pictures and enjoyed life.
Lyss will be sadly missed by her father of Johnston and mother of Austintown; her step mother, Janine Westover of Johnston; two grandmothers, Josefa Emrich of Boardman and Frances Donaldson and Kenneth Donaldson, both of Youngstown; her brothers, Michael Emrich of Youngstown and Gregory Emrich of Austintown; half sisters, Cassandra Westover of Florida and Robin Westover of Youngstown; aunts, Erika (Harry) Flaherty, Hermine (Chris) Synder, Kimberly Zitello and Sharon Zitello; uncles, John (Kathy) Emrich, Jeff (Pam) Emrich, Anthony (Paula) Zitello and David (Tina) Zitello; her boyfriend, Marshall I Beckett of Austintown; and many cousins and by a host of friends.
Lyss was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Johann Emrich and Anthony M. Zitello.

AUSTINTOWN Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Sylvia A. Sam Ervin, 72, who died early Monday morning at her residence.
She was born Feb. 3, 1937 in Butler, Pa., a daughter of Warren Gene and Sylvia (McCullough) McCommon and came to this area in 1958.
She was a 1956 graduate of Butler High School and spent her adult life as a homemaker raising her two boys.
She had a green thumb and loved tending to her garden. Her other joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren.
Sam was a kind and loving lady and will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, William G. Ervin, whom she married March 29, 1958. She also leaves two sons, William G. (Veronica) Ervin Jr. of Austintown and Jeffrey K. (Renee) Ervin of Canfield; six grandchildren, Danny, Ryan, Jena, Dustin, Alex and Mya; three brothers, Warren McCommon, Thomas McCommon and David (Julie) McCommon, all of Butler; two sisters, Bonnie Manning of Erie, Pa. and Frieda Krause of Butler; 28 nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Daniel.

Catherine Mae Williamson Fleming, 74
YOUNGSTOWN Catherine Mae Williamson Fleming, 74, formerly of Liberty Township, departed this life Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at 7:30 a.m. at Meridian Arms after an extended illness.
Catherine was born Nov. 23, 1934 in Warren, the daughter of Max and Claudia Johnson Williamson Sr.
Mrs. Fleming was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and was employed with the Ravenna Air Force Base Exchange for 12 years as a manager. She attended the Eastside Church of Christ, and enjoyed painting, cooking, baking and music.
She married John E. Fleming Oct. 31, 1953, and he died June 9, 2006.
She leaves to mourn one son, John E. (Christine) Fleming of Youngstown; three daughters, Linda Linthinicum, Kim Fleming and Terry McGrady, all of Riverdale, Ga.; mother, Claudia Williamson Scott of Warren; three brothers, Max Williamson and Claude Williamson, both of Warren and Henry Mickey Williamson of Columbus; three sisters, Mrs. Joann Shaver, Mrs. Bonnie Burks and Mrs. Maxine Jones, all of Warren; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father; her stepfather, Warfield Scott; three brothers, Arthur, Clarence and Donnie Williamson; and a grandson, Tyler R. Fleming.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, at 7 p.m. at the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home in Youngstown.

Florence E. Kraiosky, 83
YOUNGSTOWN - Florence E. Kraiosky, 83, of the citys Westside, passed away Monday morning, Feb. 16, 2009, at Hospice House in Poland Township.
Florence was born Feb. 26, 1925 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Maximilian and Eva Gallos Shopinsky, and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a homemaker and a seamstress at the Triangle Raincoat Factory during WWII.
Mrs. Kraiosky was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, was a Third Order Franciscan and a Spiritual Child of Saint Padre Pio.
Florence leaves five daughters, Donna Traichal, Francine Kraiosky, and Mary Kraiosky, with whom she made her home, Marcia (Jeffrey) Powell of Youngstown and Judith (John) Graff of Poland; a son, Michael J. (Janet) Kraiosky of North Lima; 12 grandchildren, Christine, Andrea, Elise, Jeffrey, Sarah, Jennifer, Bethany, Rebecca, Matthew, Megan, Kaitlin and John Michael; three great-grandchildren, Vincent, Naomi and Nathan Michael; and a sister, Betty Polyacko of Pittsburgh.
Her husband, Michael Kraiosky, whom she married Oct. 23, 1943, passed away Feb. 27, 1994. Three brothers, James, Mitchell and Chester Shopinsky and three sisters, Edna Yuschak, Eva Vlajkovich and Helen Glazer, are also deceased.
Family and friends are welcome to attend Florences Mass of Christian Burial that will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Youngstown. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Jeffery Lopez, 48
CAMBELL There will be funeral services at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman for Jeffery Lopez, 48, who passed away on Sunday, Feb. 15.
Jeffery was born Sept. 29, 1960 in Campbell, the son of Raymond and Daisy Lopez.
He was a 1979 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corp. Jeff was employed at Delphi and also worked as a roofer. He was an avid gardener and a great cook.
His greatest love was his four children. Jeff will always be remembered and sadly missed by his children, Ryan, Michael, Sarah and Raymond; his mother, Daisy Lopez; his siblings, Jeanette Morales, Raymond Lopez, Rose Kaufmann, Elizabeth Dryden, and Mary Ann Pishotti.
He was preceded in death by father, Raymond.

Harold J. McPhee, 88
CANFIELD A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday Feb. 21, 2009 at the Canfield Presbyterian Church for Harold J. McPhee, 88, who passed away Saturday morning, Feb. 14, 2009 at his home.
Harold was born June 1, 1920 in Canfield, the son of Alex and Sylvia (Burgett) McPhee.
He was the co-owner with his brother, Donald McPhee, of the Sohio Gas Station in Cornersburg and at Mahoning and Milton Avenues in Youngstown. Harold and his brother, Donald later owned McPhee Brothers Motors Ford-Mercury in Canfield for more than 25 years.
Harold was a graduate of Canfield High School, class of 1938, where he excelled at football, basketball, and track and he became an original member of the Canfield High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He was a member of the 1938 Canfield State Tournament Basketball Team and held the Mahoning County High School javelin record until the event was discontinued. Harold played in numerous NABF Basketball tournaments and played on local AA Baseball teams and had Major League tryouts with the Cleveland Indians and Pittsburgh Pirates. Harold was one of the founders of Canfield Little League Baseball.
He was also a WWII veteran, serving in the Merchant Marines. Harold enjoyed golf at the Salem Country Club, where he had several holes in one, and bowling with the Sigma Club.
Mr. McPhee was preceded in death by his parents; his wife and high school sweetheart, Mary Ruth Blunt McPhee; a son, Randy Dean McPhee; and his brothers, Donald, Richard and Chester McPhee.
Harold is survived by a son, Harry J. McPhee; a daughter, Kathy Jo McPhee; grandchildren, Dr. Michele McPhee Davidson and her husband, Nathan, Chet McPhee, Callie Hartman and Joel Hartman; and great-grandchildren, Hayden, Chloe, Caroline and Grant Davidson.
Funeral services were handled by the Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel.

YOUNGSTOWN Services were held Saturday at the F.D. Mason Memorial Funeral Home for Dellfurr Powell, 67, who departed this life Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at Mt. Carmel East Memorial Hospital in Columbus.
Ms. Powell was born on April 19, 1941 in Chambersburg, Pa., the daughter of Hattie Robinson and George Herman Clark.
She was a nurse assistant at Heritage Manor in Warren and a member of the First Christian Assembly.
Her husband, Alonzo Powell, died on Sept. 11, 2007.
She leaves her children, Harold Clinkscale Jr., Sherrie Clinkscale, Michelle Eley, Leonard Davidson and Theia Wilson, all of Youngstown; a sister, Hattie Patton of Youngstown; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; five nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

David R. Santucci, 60
AUSTINTOWN Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel for David Santucci, 60, who was called home Tuesday morning at Forum Health Northside Medical Center.
David was born Aug. 25, 1948 in Milwaukee, the son of Ben and Violet (Trudell) Santucci.
David was a member of the Rockview Christian Church and enjoyed attending church. He graduated from Western Reserve High School in 1967, and went on to serve with the U.S. Marines during Vietnam earning the Purple Heart.
Dave worked 37 years at General Motors in Lordstown. He was a member of the UAW, enjoyed doing furniture restoration and most of all enjoyed spending time with his family.
He will be sadly missed by his father, Ben of Davenport, Fla.; his children, Stacie (Sonny) Cashbaugh of Canfield and Richard (Lisa) Santucci of Boardman; his sisters, Donna (Larry) Brown of Berlin Center and Judy (John) MacSwords of Holly Hills, S.C.; his brothers, Bernie (Kathy) of Colorado Springs, Colo., Robert of Ocala, Fla. and Bill (Donna) of Canfield; and grandchildren, Richie, Carter, Marissa, Mariah and Taylor.
David was preceded in death by his mother, Violet.

FLEMMING ISLAND, FLA. There will be a funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Alta J. Steinritz, 85, who passed away Saturday at the Terrace at Flemming Island.
Alta was born Aug. 23, 1923 in Xenia, a daughter of the late Harry and Nola (Shinkle) Hopkins.
She retired as a receptionist from Amron Lanes in Canfield, and was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Canfield.
Her husband, Louis D. Steinritz, passed away Sept. 4, 1985.
Alta is survived by her son, Louis (Patricia Castano) Steinritz of Orange Park, Fla., grandchildren, Kelly and Louis; and great-grandchildren, Emma and Hunter.
Besides her parents and husband, Alta was preceded in death by one brother.

Jessica R. Pondillo-Sweet, 30
WASHINGTON, D.C. U.S. Air Force Technical Sergeant Jessica R. Pondillo-Sweet, 30, passed away Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, after a five month battle with Leukemia.
Born on June 14, 1978 in Youngstown, she is the beloved daughter of James J. and Renee A. (Cherol) Pondillo Sr.
On Sept. 25, 1999 in Youngstown, she married the love of her life, Christopher M. Sweet from Jefferson.
Jessica is the loving mother of Katelyn Jessica, Ashelyn Crystal and Raymond Louis Sweet, all at home.
She is survived by her brothers, Peter L. and Suzette Pondillo, along with their children, Zane and Bella-Sophia of Horseheads, N.Y. and James J. and Jill Pondillo Jr. of Greer, S.C. Jessica is also survived by her loving mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ken and Nancy Sweet of Jefferson and sister-in-law, Kim Sweet of Akron. Jessica is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Jessica was predeceased by her grandparents, Louis and Irene Cherol and Peter and Katherine Pondillo.
Jessica was a 1996 graduate of Boardman High School, where she played volleyball and softball. After graduation, she enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where she met her husband, Chris.
She loved the Air Force and proudly served in several Mid-East Theaters including Operation Enduring Freedom Afghanistan. Of her many accomplishments, two that she was most proud of were serving in the Honor Guard and receiving her Taebo instructor certification from Billy Blanks.
It goes without saying that Jessicas love for helping children is unconditional. She actively participated in the community helping children and was the president of the parent advisory board at Ramstein Air Force Base, prior to her illness. As president, she helped further promote child safety awareness and raised funds for the Ronald McDonald House.
In September of 2008, Jessica was diagnosed with Leukemia and flown to Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C. from Landstuhl, Germany.
Calling hours will be at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home, 3100 Canfield Road in Youngstown on Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, from 4 to 8 p.m.
The funeral Mass will take place Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at the Vaschak Kirila Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. and at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Byzantine Church, 356 Belle Vista Ave. in Youngstown, with the Father Richard Lambert officiating.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, support, and Care Page messages during the past five months, and special thanks to the Fisher House, Andrews AFB in Maryland, as well as the staff on Ward 71 Walter Reed Medical Center.
Incessantly strong willed and compassionate, Jessica was determined to educate and help anyone who might have to battle cancer, especially children.

Robert T. Vanderpool, 70
YOUNGSTOWN There will be funeral services Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Kirila Funeral Home, 258 Poland Ave. in Struthers for Robert T. Vanderpool, 70, who died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
He was born Dec. 24, 1938 in Cincinnati, a son of the late Robert J. and Alta Colvin Vanderpool.
He worked as a machinist and as a truck driver, retiring several years ago.
He was a member of the East Side Civics Club and was a member of several pool and bowling leagues in the area.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Carney Vanderpool, whom he married March 15, 1979; a son, Robert J. Vanderpool of Youngstown; and a granddaughter, Sarah Vanderpool.
He will be sadly missed by his family
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.

Jeanne T. Zabel, 82
BOARDMAN Private family services were held for Jeanne T. Zabel, 82, who passed away Saturday evening at Hospice House.
Mrs. Zabel was born, Oct. 24, 1926 in Youngstown, a daughter of Leonard and Ethel Conroy Quinlan.
She was a graduate of Ursuline High School and had worked for Ohio Edison in her earlier years.
Jeanne was past president of the Kiwaniqueens and an active member of various clubs and organizations in town.
Surviving her is her husband, Robert Zabel, whom she married Dec. 19, 1951; a daughter, Christine (Jim) Lowe of Boardman; a son, Lee (Terri) Zabel of Venice, Fla.; two sisters, Ruth ONeill of Nags Head, N.C. and Pat Mogg of Canfield; seven grandchildren, Tara (Scott) Evans, Rob (Nicole) Zabel, Andy Zabel, Cara DeCapua, Jimmy DeCapua, Bobby DeCapua and Zack Lowe; also four great-grandchildren, Jordon, Tyler and Brady Evans and Rocco Zabel; and several loving nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death besides her parents, is a sister, Mary Ellen Curly ONeill.
The family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions made to Hospice House, c/o Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512.
Jeannes greatest joy in life was her family and spending time in Florida.
