Sister Deann Bartos, H.M., 66
FAIRVIEW PARK Sister Deann Bartos, H.M. (Mary A. Bartos), 66, who resided in Fairview Park, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at the Cleveland Clinic.
She joined the Sisters of the Humility of Mary in 1960 and was a dedicated nurse and physical therapist for 31 years in the Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Youngstown Dioceses.
She is survived by the Sisters of the Humility of Mary Congregation; four brothers, Frank J. Bartos of Rocky River, Richard G. Bartos of Strongsville, Robert M. Bartos of Fairview Park and Jack A. Bartos of Lake Alfred, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Agnes (Faulhaber) Bartos and sister, Ann Marie Bartos.
Calling hours will be today, Feb. 19, 2009, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 3 p.m. at the Villa Maria Chapel in Villa Maria, Pa.

Linda L. Conkle, 64
COLUMBIANA Linda L. Conkle, 64, of West Salem Street, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving daughters and brother, John. Linda passed on Feb. 18, 2009, following a brief illness at Hospice House in Poland.
She was born Feb. 5, 1945 in Salem. Linda was the daughter of Charles L. Cope and the late Dorothy J. (Hall) Cope.
Linda was an employee of St. Marys Alzheimers Center for the past 13 years. She served St. Marys as a State Tested Nurses Aide.
During Lindas life, she busied herself in many activities. The love of her life were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She delighted in spending time with her family. Linda also enjoyed relaxing on the lawn with her many friends at the Manor Apartment Complex. She had a compassion that was shared with her friends, co-workers, family and patients that she had contact with everyday. Linda was a wonderful example of strength, devotion and selflessness for others to follow.
Surviving are three daughters, Barb (Scott) Baumgardner of New Waterford, Becky (Eric) Perkins of Columbiana and Christine (David) Norris of New Waterford. Linda leaves eight grandchildren, Stephenie Beight, Jennifer Proctor, Dan Baumgardner, Justin Perkins, Collin Perkins, Nathan Norris, Dakota Norris and Carlie Norris and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana on Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, at 7 p.m.

William Odell Divers, 87
AUSTINTOWN Services will be Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, at noon at the L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home for Mr. William Odell Divers, 87, who departed this life Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at Campus Health Care.
Mr. Divers, who was lovingly called Bill, was born June 15, 1921 in High Coal, W.Va., a son of Fred and Shellie Mullens Divers.
He was a 1939 graduate of Washington High School in London, W.Va. and attended Bethune-Cookman College.
He moved from West Virginia to Rochester, N.Y. in 1946, then to Youngstown in 1996.
While in Rochester, Bill was employed as a property manager with the City of Rochester for 16 years. Upon moving to Youngstown, he worked as an alcoholic counselor with the Salvation Army.
He was a former member of the Faith Temple Church in Rochester and a current member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Youngstown.
He leaves to cherish his beloved memory, a daughter, Michelle G. Robinson of New York; a nephew, Fred Willis of Las Vegas; his faithful and devoted caregiver, Audrey Harris; and a host of extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George, Henry and James Divers; and sisters, Mable Christian, Ruth Cooper and Mary Divers.

John Andrew Dow, 38
BOARDMAN Mr. John Andrew Dow, 38, entered eternal rest on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, at his home.
Mr. Dow, loving known as Baby J, was born Oct. 9, 1970 in Youngstown, a son of Beverly Dow.
He was a 1989 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School. He loved dancing, cooking and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers football fan.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory, his mother, Beverly Dow Benson; three children, Jonathan, Jamere and Jamie; a sister, Heather Benson; brothers, George Conne and James Seals; nephew, Paul Benson, whom he helped to rear; a niece, Shamara Benson; stepfather, Andrew Benson; Rudy DeLoach, whom he dearly loved like a grandfather; a beloved aunt, Sandra Dow; a great-aunt, Delores Williams, all of Youngstown; and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Margaret, whom he dearly adored.

Olga W. Gill, 86
AUSTINTOWN Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Olga W. Gill, 86, who died Tuesday afternoon at the Hospice House.
Olga was employed by the Kroger Company for 32 years, retiring in 1982 as the head cashier. Olga was fondly referred to as Mrs. Fix-it, because whatever didnt work, she fixed. She was very independent and a ball of fire.
She will be missed by her daughters, Karen Gill, with whom she made her home and Carol (Anthony) Petrich of Hubbard. Granny also leaves her grandchildren, Jamie (Kris) Petrich, Jennifer (Cody) Betts, Michael (Angela) Moses and Toni Jo (Jeremy) Mostoller; great-grandchildren, Alexis Petrich, Natalie Mostoller and Keily and Kooper Betts; and stepgreat-grandchildren, Brian and Mikayla Scott.
Olga was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Earl Gill, whom she married in 1942, and who died in 1994; brothers, Walter and Michael Wysun; and sister, Mary Ann Reiter.

Michael P. Julian Sr., 91
BOARDMAN Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman and 1 p.m. at Saint Charles Church in Boardman for Michael P. Julian Sr., 91, who died Wednesday morning at his residence.
Mr. Julian was born Nov. 9, 1917 in Youngstown, a son of Alfonse and Georgianna Vitullo Julian and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a graduate of East High School and Ohio University, where he was a member of Alpha Phi Delta fraternity. Michael was a veteran of the Army, serving during WWII.
He worked many years for the Julian Bakery and after that as a credit manager for Stambaugh Thompsons for more than 25 years.
Besides his wife, the former Claire Tortora, whom he married June 20, 1942 at St. Dominc Church, he leaves a son, Michael Miki (Gretchen) Julian Jr. of Boardman; and two grandchildren, Kelly Lynn Julian of Ravenna and Nichole Marie Beehler of Youngstown.

William Kolovich, 91
POLAND Services will be at noon on Friday at Calvary Cemetery Chapel, officiated by Father Nicholas Shori, for William Kolovich, 91, who passed away Monday at Hampton Woods Nursing Center.
Mr. Kolovich was born Dec. 18, 1917 in Shamokin, Pa., a son of John and Michaelina Kulbacka (Kryjalowicz) Kolovich.
He was a crane man for Truscon Steel and then LTV Steel, retiring in 1980.
William was a member of Saint Paul the Apostle Church. He loved fishing, especially ice fishing. He also enjoyed gardening, traveling and feeding birds.
His wife, the former Veronica Nawrocki, whom he married Feb. 18, 1939, died Jan. 4, 2004.
He leaves two daughters, Marcia A. (Joseph M. Allison) Kolovich, with whom he made his home and Carolyn (Thomas) Janeski of Collierville, Tenn.; two grandchildren, David (Amanda) Janeski and Jill Janeski; and four great-granddaughters.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Theodore Kolovich, John Kolovich and Charles Kolovich; and three sisters, Anna Yordy, Marie Wancio and Victoria Humiak.

Len W. Krichko
JACKSONVILLE BEACH, FLA. Leonard Len W. Krichko passed away on Feb. 9, 2009 after hip surgery and a short illness.
He was born Feb. 26, 1926 in Johnstown, Pa., to Sophie and George Krichko.
Len was a graduate of Hickory High School, attended Youngstown State University and the Penn State University, Shenango Valley Campus. He retired as vice president of sales after 45 years with Ivor J. Lee Inc. of Sharon, Pa. Over the years, he was also a Dale Carnegie instructor, teaching at night school.
Mr. Krichko was a decorated veteran of WWII, having served in both the European and South Pacific Theaters in the 7th Army, 86th Blackhawk Infantry Division, 341st Regimental Headquarters, under General George S. Patton, was decorated with a Bronze Star and served as a translator between Hungary and the U.S. Army during a transaction to keep the Hungarian Crown Jewels safe from Russian seizure.
Len Krichko loved his community and sat on many boards, including as a director and vice president of the Hermitage School Board, director emeritus of the Penn-Northwest Development Corporation and the Shenango Valley Development Corporation. He was formerly the president of the City of Hermitage Commissioners and chairman of Hermitage Economic Development Commission as well as, general chairman of the City of Hermitage Sesquicentennial Celebration. He was a former City Democratic precinct committeeman, former board director and secretary of West Central Job Partnership Private Industrial Council of Mercer and Lawrence County, former chairman of Unemployment Compensation Board for the League of Cities for the state of Pennsylvania and was a former board director for the National (USA) Economic Commission for the League of Cities. He also served as president of the Hickory Alumni Association, Commissioner of Hickory Boy Scouts, and campaign chairman of Mercer County Multiple Sclerosis and served on the Board of the YMCA in Hermitage.
In honor of the community and his late wife, Betty Jane, in 2004, Len donated the the Krichko Memorial Fountainat Lake Julia in Buhl Farm Park near the Casino in Hermitage.
As a volunteer in area sports leadership, Mr. Krichko is the former president of the Mercer County Hall of Fame Athletic Association, Race Director of the Bavarian Half Marathon, president of the Ivor J. Lee Business Golf League, and founder of both the Hermitage Industrial Golf Scramble and the July 4th Freedom Run in Buhl Park. He also scored two aces in his amateur golf career, one of which was witnessed by the sports writers of both the Sharon Herald and Youngstown Vindicator newspapers. Mr. Krichko was inducted into the Mercer County Hall of Fame Athletic Association in 1992, and then recently was named Director Emeritus of the Board.
Len was 32nd degree Mason and a member of Masonic Lodge No. 250, Zem Zem Shriner of Erie and Mercer County Shrine Club, New Castle Consistory; Legion of Honor, York Rite Lodge, Knights Templar, Hickory VFW Post No. 6166, American Legion Post No. 160 in Farrell, National Business Management Association of America and was a Kentucky Colonel.
He was a member and volunteer layman of the Christ Lutheran Church in Sharon and was a Synodical Board member and National Delegate to the Lutheran Church of America.
Len was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Betty Jane Podolsky Krichko in 1998.
He is survived by his four children, Ame Lee (Richard) of Tacoma, Wash., Leonard R. Krichko (Heather Rindels) of Novi, Mich., Jane Rollinson (Brad) of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., and Marilyn Krichko-Misch of Seattle, Wash. He was a grandfather to Richard, Kristina, Aren and Elliot Lee, Christian Rollinson, Katie and Lucy Krichko. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Edward of Youngstown, Hillis Krichko (Shirley), Bend, Ore., Mildred Bogdan (Paul), Sharon, Pa., and Irene Tankersley, Brunswick, Ga. Mr. Krichko was also an uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Martha Bennett and Amy Generalovich Waclaski Seley; and a brother, John Krichko.
Services were held on Saturday Feb. 14, 2009

Mary Lou Allen Little, 78
LEXINGTON, KY. Mary Lou Allen Little, 78, wife of William Abbott Little, died Wed, Feb. 18, 2009.
She was born in Poland, the daughter of the late Leo and Hester Frazier Beach.
Mrs. Little retired from the LFUCG Family Care Center, and she was a founding member of St. Michaels Episcopal Church, and with her first husband, founded the Eastern Kentucky Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Lee Ann Mullins and Richard (Tara) Allen, both of Lexington; grandchildren, Marcena and Adam Mullins; great-grandchildren, Bradley and Landon Turner; and her sister, Jeannette Moore of Hubbard.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Lee Dick Allen; brothers, Edwin and Leroy Beach; and sister, Lorene Acri.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Milward-Broadway Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at the Lexington Cemetery.
Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Sammy A. Musitano, 81
BESSEMER, PA. Sammy A. Musitano, 81, of 817 S. Main St., died the morning of Feb. 17, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Mr. Musitano was born in Hillsville, Pa. on Feb. 4, 1928. He was the son of the late Joseph and Theresa Tutino Musitano.
Mr. Musitano married the former Patricia Barber on July 18, 1953. She survives.
Mr. Musitano retired after 42 years as an electrician at Bessemer Cement Co. He retired in 1990.
Mr. Musitano was a U.S. Army veteran who served from 1946 to 1948.
Sammy was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed golfing and was an avid gardener.
He was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church of New Castle, Pa. He also was an usher at the church.
Survivors include two daughters, Jodi Musitano and husband Donald Butch Merrill of Boardman and Kathy and David Eichenlaub of Mt. Jackson, Pa.; one brother, Bruni Musitano of Bessemer, Pa.; and four grandchildren, Sammy Merrill, Maria Merrill, Amy Eichenlaub and Kelly Eichenlaub.
Mr. Musitano was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Neal Musitano; and two sisters, Rose Macri and Mary Musitano.
There are no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Feb. 20, at 4 p.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 212 N. Mill St. in New Castle, Pa., with the Rev. G. Kelly Marshall of St. James Episcopal Church in Boardman officiating.

George Gilbert Gil Pollock Jr., 81
AUSTINTOWN There will be a funeral service at noon on Saturday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for George Gilbert Gil Pollock Jr., 81, who passed away Tuesday at his home.
Gil was born Aug. 8, 1927 in Youngstown, a son of the late George Gilbert Pollock Sr. and Alda Batteiger.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a truck driver for Standard Oil and retired as a dispatcher from Coastal Trucking in 1983. Gil also had worked for Sharon Steel and Wean United. In his spare time, Gil enjoyed watching sports on TV and puttering around the house.
Gil is survived by his wife, the former Helen Elchuck, whom he married Aug. 17, 1951; five sons, Jim Pollock of Warren, Tom (Maureen) Pollock of San Leon, Texas, Bob (Rose) Pollock of Youngstown, George (Brenda) Pollock of Lowellville and Edward Pollock at home; two daughters, Darlene (Brian) Kroll of Youngstown and Mary Lou Pollock at home; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Gil was preceded by a brother, James and a daughter-in-law, Joan Pollock.

Katherine P. Roche, 90
NORTH LIMA Prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Saint Dominic Church for Katherine P. Roche, 90, who passed away Tuesday morning at Saint Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.
Mrs. Roche was born June 1, 1918 in New Castle, Pa., a daughter of John W. and Della King Coyne and came to the area in 1960 from Cleveland.
Katherine was a 1936 graduate of New Castle High School and attended Youngstown State University. She taught kindergarten at Holy Family School for eight years and sold real estate for Dell Realty in the 1970s.
Katherine was a former member of Saint Nicholas Parish in Struthers and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was an active member of the Poland Federated Democratic Womens Club.
She leaves a daughter, Patricia K. Centa-Wagner and son-in-law, Dale A. Wagner of Pittsburgh; a sister, Clara Turk of Boardman; a brother, Jack Coyne of New Castle; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward T. Centa; her second husband, Thomas J. Roche; a sister, Mary A. McCormick; and a brother, Bill Coyne.

Robert L. Stevens, 81
GIRARD Robert L. Stevens, 81, passed away at 6:10 p.m. on Feb. 17, 2009, at Hospice of the Valley.
Bob was born Feb. 14, 1928 in Clearfield, Pa., a son of the late Grace and Charles Stevens.
He was a long distance truck driver until his retirement from Easco Aluminum in 1990. He was a very loving and generous man who will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Catherine (Mease) Stevens; his son, Robert C. Stevens and his companion, Beth Lipscomb; his daughter, Linda Ciambrone and her husband, Frank; a sister, Mildred; five grandchildren, Michael Ciambrone, Roxanne, Nicole, Bobby Jo and Billy Jo; and five great-grandchildren, Austin, Justin, Edward, Jeremy and Jacob.
He was preceded in death by Kenny, Chuck and Catherine Stevens and half brothers and sisters, Bill, Howdie, Harold and Lidy.

Julia Taylor, 95
BOARDMAN Private services were held at the Davis Funeral Home for Julia Taylor, 95, who passed away Sunday evening at Greenbriar Health Care Center.
Mrs. Taylor was born March 5, 1913 in New Castle, Pa., a daughter of Moses and Barbara Hado Dietrich.
She was a homemaker and during WWII, she worked as a riveter. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and a lifelong member of ELCA.
Her husband, Louis Taylor, whom she married in 1929, died March 30, 1976.
Surviving her is a daughter, Ethel Vincent of Mayfield Heights and three grandsons, Jeffrey (Monica) Vincent, Bruce Vincent and Scott Vincent.
Preceding her in death besides her husband and parents, is a son, Thomas Taylor; three brothers; and two sisters.

Ethel R. Thomas, 87
Together Again
YOUNGSTOWN Mrs. Ethel R. Thomas, 87, departed this life Feb. 16, 2009, at Mahoning Valley Hospital.
Ethel was born to the late Thomas P. and Mattie R. Scott Fitzgerald on June 6, 1921 in Chatham, Va. and came to Youngstown in 1942 from Uniontown, Pa.
She graduated from Renees School of Cosmetology in 1958. She worked for many years with these area companies; General Fireproofing, Handels Funeral Home and A.P. OHoro. She joined the Tabernacle Baptist Church in 1969.
Ethel was married to the late Wilbert N. Thomas on April 22, 1943, who passed away Feb. 28, 1986, and from that union were born two children, Ms. Constance L. Clinkscale of Youngstown and a son, Ronald N. Thomas, who is deceased.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter and grandchildren, whom she reared, Arthur Jr., Timothy D., Victor R., Adelle R. and Pamela G. Clinkscale, all of Youngstown, and LaToya Snipes of Pennsylvania. She also has six grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 27 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband; her son; five brothers, Thomas, Lamber, Richard, Henry and Joseph Fitzgerald; and six sisters, Sally Tolar, Lena King, Lillie Ware, Stella Asher, Beulah Sykes and Mamie Oliver. She was also preceded in death by her four grandchildren, Carmen R. Clinkscale (Justice), James E. Clinkscale, Vincent R. Thomas and Ronald N. Thomas Jr.
Funeral services will be held Friday at noon at the Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Frank E. Wright, 75
YOUNGSTOWN Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Elizabeth Baptist Church for Frank E. Wright, 75, who departed this life Sunday at his residence.
Mr. Wright was born June 29, 1933, in Youngstown, a son of Julian and Rosolia Hamock Wright.
He was a supervisor at LTV, a member of the church and its transportation ministry. He was also a member of the early morning crew and a Korean War Army veteran.
He leaves his wife, the former Marilyn Parkman, whom he married June 20, 1953; his children, Michelle R. (Raymond O.) Brown and Jada J. Wright, both of Youngstown; a brother, Rev. Emmett F. Wright of Jamaica, N.Y.; a foster sister, Hedy Grier of Youngstown; and a granddaughter, Tracie R. (Gregory Jr.) Braylock of Toledo.
His parents and three brothers, Julian, Raymond and Joseph Wright, preceded him in death.
Viewing will be from noon to 4 p.m. Friday at the F.D. Mason Memorial Funeral Home.
