Louise Agnes Borecki
McDONALD Louise Agnes Borecki passed away Sunday, April 5, at Omni Manor Health Care Center, where she had resided for the past two months.
She was born July 21, 1922 in Hubbard, the daughter of James and Lucy (Carano) Vernello.
Louise was married on Aug. 16, 1947 to Walter Borecki, with whom she had four children. The couple spent their 61 years of marriage residing in McDonald. Louise spent her life as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was loved by all who knew her and was known to most as Bubba, the name her grandchildren lovingly called her.
She was a faithful parishioner at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society for as long as anyone can remember.
Louise will be sadly missed by her family, her husband, Walter; her four children, Patricia (Dennis) Magyar of Kennett Square, Pa., John (Mary) Borecki of Houston, Paula (William) Kunkel of McDonald and James (Kathy) Borecki of Brookfield, Wis.; her six grandchildren, Natalie Borecki, William Kunkel III, Kimberly Troiano, Emily Cappuzzello, Erin Borecki and Elyse Borecki; her brother, James Vernell; her sisters, Julia Smaldino, Rita Bolchalk and Rae McGhee; and her great-grandchildren, Lillian and Joseph Cappuzzello.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Louis and John Vernell; and her sisters, Anne Dunn and Carmel DePaul.
Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the McClurkin Funeral Home in Girard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in McDonald with prayers at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
The family would also like to thank Hospice of the Valley for their special assistance with her care, and a very special thank-you to the nurses, staff, and office personnel at Omni for their nurturing care and support of Louise and her family.

Mable Campbell, 60
YOUNGSTOWN A funeral service celebrating the life of Mrs. Mable Campbell, 60, who departed this life April 3, 2009, will be held Thursday at noon at the Washington Funeral Home with Elder Jerome Jones officiating.
Mrs. Campbell was born June 4, 1948 in Youngstown, a daughter of Rufus and Corabell West Gilmer.
She was formerly employed as a bar maid at the Tiki Lounge.
She was a member of the Youngstown JBS, and she enjoyed writing poetry.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving daughter, Tamira and her husband, Daryl Bodrick of Boardman; two sons, Charles Prima of Georgia and Jahnta Campbell; a brother, Jerome Gilmer; and a sister, Joyce Jennings, all of Youngstown; 25 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Rufus and Ronald Gilmer; and two sisters, Phyllis Paul and Geraldine Rose.
The family will receive friends Thursday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Peggy A. Ceroli, 74
NILES There are no services or calling hours for Peggy A. Ceroli, 74, formerly of McDonald, who passed away Sunday morning at Forum Health Northside Medical Center.
Peggy was born Oct. 3, 1934, in McDonald, a daughter of the late Frank and Anna Ledenko.
As a homemaker, Peggy enjoyed playing bingo, going to casinos, doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, crocheting and baking.
She is survived by her husband Carmen Ceroli, whom she married Dec. 19, 1955; three children, Dennis (Kellie) Ceroli of Newton Falls, Christine Ceroli of Austintown and Francine (Michael) DelBene of Liberty; one sister, Helen Maderitz of Girard; one brother, Frank Ledenko of Niles; three grandchildren, Julianne, Angela and Kristopher; and one great-granddaughter, Janessa.
Besides her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by four sisters.

Thomas M. Evans, 87
VIENNA Thomas M. Evans, 87, died at Rouse Warren County Nursing Home in Youngsville, Pa. on Sunday, April 5, 2009.
Thomas was born Nov. 2, 1921 in Farrell, Pa., the son of Andrew and Mary (Notar) Evans.
He was a 1941 graduate of Farrell High School and joined the U.S. Army in 1942. He was attached to the 24th Division, 19th Infantry and received a Presidential Citation for his service during World War II. He was a retired inspector at Sharon Steel in 1973.
Thomas was a member of the VFW Farrell Post 5286.
He married Barbara A. Kesic on June 5, 1979. Barbara passed away March 10, 2009.
He enjoyed polka dancing.
Thomas leaves behind his daughters, Barbara Jean Boninsegna of Youngstown and Carole Jean (Ron) Haus of Canfield; son, Harold Harrington of Mercer, Pa.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceding Thomas in death are his parents; his wife; brothers, Andrew, Bill, Edward, Michael and George Evans; and sisters, Mary Mowery, Margaret Bartalon, Alice Di Petta, Delores Ondic, Ann Scardinia and Catherine Evans.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, from 5 to 8 p.m. and the funeral service will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna.
Entombment will take place at Crown Hill Burial Park.

David E. Fedorchak, 92
HUBBARD There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church for David E. Fedorchak, 92, who passed away Sunday afternoon at Forum Health Northside Medical Center.
David was born Jan. 10, 1917 in Edinboro, Pa., a son of Daniel and Charlotte Kani Fedorchak and came to Youngstown in 1937 and to Hubbard in 1983.
He was a salesman for Keystone Bread Company for 35 years, retiring in 1977 and a member of Teamster Retiree Club No. 377.
He was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, their senior citizens group and also was active in making pierogis at the church.
His wife, the former Ann M. Puskar, whom he married Oct. 11, 1941, passed away Nov. 8, 1992.
He is survived by his sisters, Rose Capp of Stockdale, Pa. and Martha Buri of Meadville, Pa.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; four brothers, Thomas Fedorchak, Joseph Fedorchak, Andrew Fedorchak and Frank Fedorchak; and two sisters, Barbara Kovalenich and an infant sister, Ann Fedorchak.
There will be calling hours Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m., with prayers at 1 p.m. at the Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown.

Thomas Tom Kasten, 77
LEE LAKE, WIS. Thomas Tom Kasten, 77, formerly of Poland, died Saturday afternoon, April 4, 2009, at home following a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
Big Tom was born Dec. 29, 1931 in Milwaukee, Wis., to William and Clara (Schmeling) Kasten.
Following graduation from North Division High School in Milwaukee, he entered the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a staff sergeant during the Korean War.
Following his honorable discharge from the service, Tom began a 35 year career with General Motors until his retirement in 1989. As an avid sportsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and traveling and will be remembered for his great love of reading and as an ambassador to the library.
Survivors are his wife, Sally (Nichelson) Kasten; his five children, Kirk (Emily) Kasten, Kyle Kasten, Keith (Katy) Kasten, Kraig (Annie) Kasten and Kimberly (Steve) Hoover; their mother, Audrey Kasten; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, William (Helen) Kasten; and numerous nieces and nephews who were so special to Uncle Tom.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Margaret L. Kollmorgan, 83
BOARDMAN Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman for Margaret L. Kollmorgan, 83, who passed away Sunday morning.
Margaret was born March 1, 1926 in Leetonia, a daughter of the late Walter and Mary Elizabeth Beilhart Duff.
She graduated from Leetonia High School in 1944. She went to Mount Union College, where she graduated with a fine arts degree in 1948. She received a masters degree in library science from Western Reserve Library School.
Her 30 year library career began in high school in Leetonia Public Library. While in library school, she worked at the Quincy Branch of the Cleveland Public Library from 1945 to 1948. Upon graduation, she worked for the Warren Public Library as a childrens librarian and audio visual supervisor.
Upon her marriage, she moved to North Towanda, N.Y. and was head librarian there. When she returned to Youngstown, she was the Canfield Branch and Austintown Branch Librarian from 1967 to 1979.
She was well liked as a librarian, that some patrons after her retirement called her at home with reference questions. After retirement, she was very involved with the Austintown Library Friends Group, giving puppet shows, programs and book sales. She also volunteered with childrens craft programs at Fosterville and Lowellville Libraries.
Her hobbies included crafts, folk art painting, gardening, sewing and reading. Margaret belonged to the Embroiders Guild and was very involved with the Austintown Homemakers Club and was a member of the Retired Librarians Luncheon Group. During WWII, Margaret worked for a brief time as a riveter.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Kollmorgan, who died Jan 24, 1978.
She will be sorely missed by her sister, Ruth Shutrump of Boardman; three nieces, Gretchen (Jeff) Bartlett of Bradenton, Fla., Jennifer (Dan) DeMoss and Stephanie (Glenn) Schafer, both of Boardman; three nephews, Arthur (Carol) Shutrump Sr., Timothy Shutrump and Arthur Shutrump Jr.; and a great-grand neice, Alexia Schaefer, all of Boardman. A stepson, Wesley Kollmorgan Jr. of Lexington, Texas; three stepdaughters, Dianne (John) Ollila Martinez, Calif., Judy Kollmorgan of Ashland, Ore. and Janis (Pat) Powers of Santa Rosa, Calif.

Raymond Malice, 92
YOUNGSTOWN There were private services Monday at the Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home for Raymond Malice, 92, who passed away Friday at Forum Health Northside Medical Center.
Raymond was born Aug. 14, 1916 in Youngstown, a son of Joseph and Rose DeCarlo Malice who were from Fogia, Italy. He was a lifelong area resident and attended East High School.
Raymond was a superintendent for Ohio Contracting for 25 years, and for Allied Erecting & Demolition of Youngstown, where he retired in 1981.
He was a member of Operating Engineers Local No. 66 of Youngstown for over 50 years. He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church.
He leaves his wife, the former Philomena M. DeCola, whom he married June 29, 1946; his son, Raymond E. Malice Jr. of Liberty Township; and daughters, Susan (Michael) Brigeman of South Carolina, Phyllis Altiero of Youngstown and Lucille (David) Spuhler of Howland. He also leaves his five grandchildren, John Fetchet, Angela Altiero, Michael Brigeman, Albert Altiero and Autumn Spuhler.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward Malice, Alec Malice, James Malice, Henry Malice and Louis Malice; and his sisters, Marie Antoinette Malice, Betty Malice, Helen Baker and Angela Cavalier.

John J. Parillo, 70
LIBERTY TOWNSHIP John J. Parillo, 70, formerly of Girard, passed away Saturday morning, April 4, 2009, at Omni Manor Care Center in Youngstown.
John was born April 20, 1938 in Girard, a son of the late Victor and Mary Parillo Parillo, and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a Girard High School graduate and was a teacher in the Hermitage, Pa. School District, retiring in the mid-1990s.
John was a member of St. Rose Church in Girard.
Mr. Parillo leaves five cousins, Jean Chirichigno, Barbara Baluan, Jack Parillo, Bill Parillo and Letitia Szweda; three special friends, George Brumbaugh, George Anderson and Carolyn Graham; and an aunt, Dorothy Parillo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 8, at 11 a.m. at St. Rose Church in Girard, where family and friends may gather from 10:30 a.m. until time of services. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.

Brian D. Smith, 51
BERLIN CENTER Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Brian D. Smith, 51, who died Sunday morning at his residence.
Brian was born Feb. 3, 1958 in McKeesport, Pa., the son of Ramon and Isabelle (Craig) Smith.
Brian retired from General Motors on Aug. 20, 2008, where he had worked as maintenance supervisor and in skilled trades.
He was a graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and a member of the Ellsworth Presbyterian Church. Brian loved remote control airplanes, dirt bikes, four wheelers and jet skiing.
He will be sadly missed by his daughters, Victoria K. and Elizabeth A. Smith, both at home; his father, Ramon of Berlin Center; and his brothers, Kent (Linda) of Berlin Center, Phillip (Debbie) of Austintown and Cecil (Chris) of Washington State.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kimberly Ann (Giovanni) Smith, whom he married Aug. 20, 1976, who died April 23, 2005; his son, Ramon; and mother, Isabelle.

Catherine M. Wary, 100
BROOKFIELD There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, at St. Vincent DePaul Church, 4453 Warren-Sharon Road in Vienna, with the Rev. Frank Zanni celebrating for Catherine M. Wary, 100, who passed away early Sunday morning, April 5.
Catherine was born July 5, 1908 in Youngstown, the daughter of Biagio Guarino and Rose (Larocco) Wary.
She was a 1927 graduate of East High School and a 1932 graduate of Ohio University. Catherines additional graduate work was completed at Westminster College and Youngstown University. Catherine was a Latin and French Teacher in the Youngstown School System for 35 years and was the last Dean of Girls at The Rayen School.
She was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Church, the Womens Guild, and the Ladies of Charity. Catherine was a member of the Mahoning County Retired Teachers, Ohio Retired Teachers and National Retired Teachers Associations.
She will always be remembered by her sister, Isabelle Terlecky of Florida; and several nieces and a nephew.
Besides her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Marie Haindle and Mary Gee; and five brothers, Nicholas, Anthony, Frank, Joseph and James Wary.

William (Bill) John Mizicko, 60
VIENNA William (Bill) John Mizicko of Vienna passed away Sunday, April 5, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Main Campus in Youngstown. He was 60 years old.
Mr. Mizicko was born June 22, 1948 in Sharon, Pa., a son of Michael J. and Mary I. (Murcko) Mizicko.
A 1967 graduate of Mathews High School, Bill also went on to attend the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics, where he graduated with an airplane mechanics certification.
Bill went on to serve our country as a Private in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a telecommunications specialist who was stationed in South Korea.
After his time in the service, he went on to marry the former Diane Sisco on December 2, 1978, and together they would share more than thirty years of marriage. He was employed at Republic Steel, more recently known as WCI, as a mechanic technician in the scale shop. He retired with more than 30 years of dedication in 2007.
Bill was a proud member of Vienna V.F.W. Post No. 3521, where he had served as post adjutant. He was also a devout member of St. Vincent DePaul Roman Catholic Church in Vienna, where he had served as an usher.
Bill thrived through a multitude of interests which put an unending smile on his face. First and foremost was his family. He was an avid outdoorsman: bicyclist, motorcyclist, wind surfer, barefoot water-skier, roller skater, snow-skier, archer, boater, welder, pilot, ice hockey player, and could build and fix anything and everything. He particularly loved the holidays and enjoyed chopping wood.
Bill leaves behind his exceptional family: his wife, Diane and their three children, Kenneth, Lindsey and Daniel, all living at home. He is the tenth of eleven children. He leaves his brothers, Thomas, Michael (Mary Ann), James (Flo), Robert (Kathy) and Richard (Laura), all of Vienna; his sisters, Mary Ann Dickson of Brookfield, Margaret (John) Phillips of Burghill, Dolores (Dave) Rupert of Masury and Elinor (Martin) Bottar of Vienna; his mother-in-law, Helen Sisco, brother-in-law Ronald Sisco and sister-in-law Connie Sisco, all of Niles; and sister-in-law Mariann DeChristofaro of Vienna. Bill also leaves behind 32 nieces and nephews, 52 great-nieces and nephews, and four great-great-nephews and nieces.
Preceding him to his heavenly home were his parents, and an infant sister, Frances.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent De Paul Roman Catholic Church, with Rev. Frank Zanni, Pastor. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lane Funeral Homes Madasz Chapel, Brookfield. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna.
