Domenico Angiuli, 65
CANFIELD - Services will begin Saturday at 9:15 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel and at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Church in Canfield for Domenico Angiuli, 65, who passed away Tuesday afternoon at University Hospital in Cleveland from complications from Leukemia.
Domenico was born Oct. 9, 1943 in Bagnoli del Trigno, Italy, the son of Rafaele and Emelia Donofrio Angiuli.
After coming to this country in 1967, he worked as an executive chef at several area restaurants. He along with his wife later became the owner and operators of the Grand View Restaurant in Canfield until his retirement in 2005.
He was a member of St. Michaels Church in Canfield and the Mens Bagnolese Club. He loved working in his garden and had operated his own produce farm in Canfield.
His wife, the former Violet T. Ciarniello, whom he married in 1967, died Aug. 17, 1998.
He is survived by his mother, Emelia of Bagnoli del trigno; a daughter, Carol (Paul) Schweizer of Rootstown; two sons, Ralph (Susan) Angiuli of Ellsworth and Robert Angiuli of Canfield; a brother, Mario (Rita) Angiuli of Canfield; two grand-children, Isaiah Schweizer and Nicholas Dominic Angiuli; his companion, Mary Pulca; and his mother-in-law, Almerinda Ciarniello; and brother-in-law, D. Jack (Chryystal) Ciarniello of Austintown.
Besides his wife and father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Nicola Angiuli; and his father-in-law, Dominic Ciarniello.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.

Vincent G. Calabrese, 80
NEW CASTLE, PA. Mr. Vincent G. Calabrese, 80, a former Hillsville, Pa. resident, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at Haven Nursing Home in New Castle.
He was born in Hillsville on Nov. 15, 1928, the son of the late John Calabrese and Anna (Nocera) Calabrese.
He attended school until the eighth grade, then worked for Michigan Limestone in Hillsville until its closing of the parent company, U.S. Steel, then transferred Vincent to its affiliate company in Sharon, Pa., where he worked until his retirement at the age of 60.
He was a member of the Johnson Club and enjoyed gambling.
He is survived by his three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy (Calabrese) Baker of Bessemer, Pa., Mrs. Jennie (Calabrese) Gadzia of Hillsville and Mrs. Mary (Calabrese) Nerone of Girard.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Tony Calabrese and three sisters, Margaret Ricciuti, Jeanette Pagillo and Josephine Notareschi.
Arrangements are being handled by the Terry A. Cunningham Funeral Home, 203 Oak St. in Bessemer, where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2009.
A Blessing service will be at the Terry A. Cunningham Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2009, with Fr. James Downs officiating.
Interment will be at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Hillsville.
Eleanor Shobel Cheeks, 69
MINERAL RIDGE Funeral services will be held today at 1 p.m. at the Lane Funeral Home-Mineral Ridge Chapel for Eleanor Cheeks, 69, who died early Monday morning at her home. She will be sadly missed by her family.
Eleanor was born Aug. 28, 1939 in Niles, the daughter of John and Mary Virginia (Ford) Shobel.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother and caring grandmother and great-grandmother. A number of years ago, she had worked at Glenview Manor in Mineral Ridge.
Eleanor is survived by her husband, John Cheeks, whom she married Oct. 15, 1955. She also leaves her mother Mary Virginia Millikin of North Jackson; six children, Debra Lindenmuth of Austintown, John B Cheeks of Niles, Bridgette (John) Hall of Girard, Mark Cheeks and Katrina Armeni, both of Mineral Ridge and Eric Cheeks of Austintown; a brother, John Jack Shobel II of Cortland; two half sisters, Jeannie Neff and Corrine Weaver; and four half brothers, Richard Shobel, Thomas Shobel, Don Shobel and Todd Shobel. She also leaves 14 grandchildren, John Brian Jr., Shana Marie, Joshua, Jessica Rae, Tiffany, Justin Lee, Jessica Ann, Jason Paul, Megan, Robbie, Ashley Dawn, Tara Ann, Quentin and Jordan; and seven great-grandchildren; Sadie, Jonathon, Brian William, Zoe, Aiden, Nathan and Jayce.
She was preceded in death by her father and infant daughter, Sherry Kim Cheeks.

Claudia Ann Giovanni, 68
LORDSTOWN There are no services or calling hours for Claudia Ann Giovanni, 68, who died late Sunday night at her residence.
She was born Dec. 13, 1940 in Richmond, Va., a daughter of Harry and Della Ervin.
She was a homemaker and was also former owner and operator of the Drop In Tavern in Schillings Mill.
She was active in the American Legion Post 737 of Lake Milton, and she enjoyed writing poetry and spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.
Claudia was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and she will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by three sons, John (Kathy) Giovanni of Oceanside, Calif., Marco (Jeanenne) Giovanni of Lake Milton and August (Delores) Giovanni of Ellsworth. She also leaves behind a brother, Joe (Joy) Ervin of Youngstown; nine grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and her best friend and caregiver, Linda Penno of Lordstown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Kimberly and her husband, Brian Smith; a grandson, Ramon Smith; and two sisters; Linda and Mickey Burchfield.

Joseph Kinny Berroteran, 76
YOUNGSTOWN Services will be today at 1 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel for Mr. Joseph Kinny Berroteran, 76, who died late Monday evening at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Boardman Campus of an apparent heart attack.
Mr. Berroteran was born Oct. 3, 1932 in Youngstown, the son of Miguel and Andrea Rembao Berroteran and grew up in the Monkeys Nest.
He had attended The Rayen School and later served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Worcester for eight years during the Korean War. He then worked at the GM Lordstown Assembly Plant for over 32 years, retiring in 1998.
He was a member of St. Columba Parish and the UAW Local No. 1112. Mr. Berroteran also enjoyed local history, especially Youngstowns. He would spend time researching and reading at the Arms Museum and the Mahoning Valley Historical Society. He also was an avid boxing fan, and enjoyed cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes.
His wife, the former Ann Jeannette Chick, whom he married April 23, 1958, passed away May 10, 2006.
He leaves six daughters, Joanne (Dr. David) Rich of Boardman, Michele (Greg) Berroteran-Stroh of Kent, Constance (Edward) Godfrey of Rome, Ann (Scott) Saluga of Oberlin, twins, Jeannine Berroteran of Youngstown and Jeannette Berroteran of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and a son, Louis (Raquel) Berroteran of Silver Lake; 10 grandchildren, Jeannine, David, Michael and twins Alex and Vince Rich, Gerard and Isabel Berroteran and Christina, Joey and Jimmy Godfrey; and two brothers, Andrew (Barbara) Berroteran of Boardman and James (Maryann) Berroteran of Poland.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Maria Daniels; and a brother, Michael Berroteran.
Friends may call today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
In respect of holy week protocol a Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Columba Cathedral.

Elva M. Knight, 92
CANFIELD Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel for Elva M. Knight, 92, formerly of Struthers, who passed away Wednesday morning at Hampton Woods Rehabilitation Center.
Elva was born Jan. 8, 1917 in Poland Township, the daughter of William and Catherine (Pail) Mitzel.
She was a graduate of Poland Seminary High School, and worked the counter at Mar-Hill Bowling Lanes for 30 years. Elva was a member of St. Nicholas Church in Struthers. She was an avid bowler, winning several metals in the Senior Olympics, and an avid billiards player with several leagues in the area. Elva was also an avid golfer, swimmer and enjoyed water aerobics, and gaming.
Her husband, Glenn W. Knight, whom she married June 20, 1935, passed away Oct. 1, 1988.
Elva leaves three children, Glenda (David) Hoagland of Struthers, Glen (Darlene) Knight of Peoria, Ariz. and Ronald (Marsha) Knight of Canfield and five grandchildren, Jim, John, Ron and Alison Knight and Jeff Marthaller.
Besides her parents and husband, Elva was preceded in death by one sister, Anna May Root; and four brothers, William, Robert, Nick and Joe Mitzel.

Elizabeth Virginia Marozzi Lough, 85
CLARKSBURG, W.VA. Elizabeth Virginia Marozzi Lough, 85, a resident of Heritage Nursing Home, formerly of Hamill Avenue, passed away Monday, April 6, 2009, at the Heritage Nursing Home.
Mrs. Lough was a former employee of Maidenform Inc., the Uptowner Inn, Sheraton Inn and Jim Reids Restaurant.
She was born on Oct. 18, 1923, a daughter of the late Guy and Hettie Gay Collins Marozzi.
She was married to Dallas R. Lough, who preceded her in death Jan. 2, 1970.
Surviving are one son, Dallas Duane Lough of Clarksburg; two daughters, Carol Frances Lough Eli (David A.) of Clarksburg and Sharon Kay Lough of Clarksburg; 11 grandchildren, David Scott Eli and wife Amy, Mark William Eli and wife Judy, Craig Allen Lough, Todd Eric Lough and wife Lori, Danny Lough and wife Wendy, Lori Renee Sallaz and husband Russell, Mark Duane Tucker, Chad Eric Tucker, Gregory Stephen Tucker, Jeffrey Thomas Lough and Christopher Aaron Lough; 24 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Madeline Marozzi Martin of Clarksburg; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Deward Roger Lough; two brothers, Edward Guy and Carl Eugene Marozzi; and two sisters, Sylvia Jean Marozzi Lada and Betty Gay Marozzi.
Mrs. Lough was a member of the Trinity Fellowship in Boardman until her illness. She enjoyed attending church and singing in the choir and now sings in Gods choir.
We wish to extend our special thanks to the Heritage Inc. staff in the business office, the nurses and aids, recreation and activities, physical therapy, kitchen and maintenance staff and Elizabeth Leigh, hairdresser. We will always be extremely grateful for the love and care provided to our mother, Elizabeth by all at Heritage Inc. Our thanks also to Doctors David E. William H. Bill Mansell, 65
KINSMAN William H. Bill Mansell, 65, of The Boyds Home in Kinsman, died peacefully at 7:15 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2009, at Hospice House of Poland, after a six month battle with ALS (Lou Gehrigs disease).
He was born Dec. 5, 1943 in Warren, the son of Edgar and Elsie (Denger) Mansell.
A lifetime area resident, Bill attended Fairhaven School and Workshop and worked as an assembler for Pitmark Services Inc. at The Boyds Home for the past 30 years.
He was a faithful member of the Kinsman Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed bowling, riding bicycles, traveling, and camping. Bill had a big heart, loved dogs, and he especially liked spending time with his family. He enjoyed parties and made decorations for every holiday, many of which were spent with the Oberman family.
He will be sadly missed by his brother, Stan (Deborah) Mansell of Vacaville, Calif.; his sister, Sally (John) Oberman of Youngstown; his beloved nieces and nephews, Lance, Jackie, Blair and Jeff; and great-nieces, Abigail, Hannah, Josiah and David; and by his fellow residents of The Boyds Home, whom he considered family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2009, at the Roberts-Clark Chapel, where friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Rev. Larry Myers and Rev. Jay Eastman will officiate.
Interment will be at Braceville Township Cemetery.
