Henry E. Cigolle Jr., 75
GIRARD Henry E. Cigolle Jr., 75, died Saturday, April 18, 2009, at his residence.
Henry was born on March 14, 1934 in Youngstown to the late Henry E. and Anna (Begala) Cigolle.
He attended Girard High School and Kent State University, and was a member of Sigma NU Fraternity. He also served in the Marine Corps for three years. Henry worked for the Ohio Leather Company for 14 years and Packard Electric for 20 1/2 years. He retired in 1999.
Henry enjoyed playing volleyball, bocce and basketball. He was an active ground crew member of St. Rose Parish, as well as the IFH Club in Girard. He enjoyed working outdoors, and loved spending time with his seven grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marguerite (Visca) Cigolle; three children, Lizabeth (Gary) Kuty, Christine (Thomas) Knestrict and Henry David (Trisha) Cigolle; and his grandchildren, Anne, Gary, Aaron, Emily, Olivia, Alexandra and Katie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Rose Church in Girard at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21.
The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, JDRF Greater Cincinnati Chapter, 8041 Hosbrook Road, Suite 422, Cincinnati, OH 45236, in honor of his granddaughter, Alexandra Knestrict.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.
Marie Ford, 90
CAMPBELL Marie Ford, 90, died Saturday evening, April 18, 2009, attended by her family and caregivers at Heritage Manor, which was her home for the past two years.
Mrs. Ford, formerly of Hubbard and Campbell, was born Nov. 3, 1918 in Ravenna, a daughter of Galiano and Susie (Senerchia) Trocchio.
She was a graduate of Ravenna High School. A homemaker, Mrs. Ford was also a former sales associate at Kittys Fashions in Hubbard. Her home parish was St. Patrick Church in Hubbard. She was an avid golfer and a member of the Womens Golf Association of Hubbard and enjoyed playing cards.
Her husband, Daniel P. Ford, whom she married June 12, 1948, died Aug. 30, 1994.
She leaves her sons, Gabriel (Enid) Ford of Brooklyn Heights, N.Y. and Philip (Margaret) Ford of Campbell; sisters, Verna Flogge of Stowe and Madonna (Nick) Mendiola of Ravenna; a brother, Danny Trocchio of Ravenna; grandchildren, Daniel (Sara) Ford of Lakewood, Andrew Ford of Brooklyn Heights, David (Jennifer) Schwindt of Mystic, Conn. and Jennifer Schwindt of Sarasota, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dan; a sister, Bernadine; and brothers, Edward and William.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home in Hubbard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Church.
Interment will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
The Ford family would like to thank the institutions and their staffs that helped preserve the quality of Mrs. Fords life in her later years. They include the Antonine Sisters Adult Day Care, Comfort Keepers, Home Instead Senior Care, Hospice of the Valley and Heritage Manor.

Henry Asbury Moller, 90
WOODBRIDGE, VA. Henry Asbury Moller, 90, died April 17, 2009 at his home.
Mr. Moller was a proud member of American Legion Post 364, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1503, 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
Mr. Moller accomplishments include, the Civilian Conservation Corp., helped build the Grand Coolee Dam (Columbia Basin Project), raced motorcycles in the Western Circuit from 1940 to 1942, United States Army World War II from 1942 to 1945, European Theater, transported survivors from Ohrduf (part of Buchenwarld Concentration Camp), Ohio State Highway Patrol Auxiliary from 1960 to 1969. He was a World War II veteran and a Technician 5th grade 3627th Quartermaster Truck Company Heavy. Mr. Moller also attended Youngstown State University.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Francis Hitt Moller and his wife of 52 years, Margaret Busher Moller.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Sandra Moller of Woodbridge; his son, Raymond Moller of Elgin, Ill.; grandchildren, Mark Moller of Iowa City, Iowa, Stephen Moller of Columbus and Jeff Moller of Iowa City; a brother, Robert Moller of Everett, Wash.; and a sister, Patricia Clausen of Everett.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 21, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Blvd. in Woodbridge.
Services will be held Wednesday, April 22, at noon at St. Elizabeth Ann Catholic Church, 12805 Valleywood Drive in Woodbridge.
Marie Antoinette Modarelli Scarsella, 95
Together Again
NILES Marie Antoinette Modarelli Scarsella, 95, formerly of Wesley Avenue on Youngstowns Westside, passed away Friday evening, April 17, 2009, at Shepherd of the Valley in Niles.
Marie was born May 28, 1913 in Youngstown, a daughter of Sylvester and Philomena Minnie Schettine Modarelli. She graduated from Chaney High School and worked in retail at the Lerner Fashion Store in Youngstown.
She married Alfred M. Scarsella, Sr., known as Al, who was the founder and owner of Scarsella Furniture Company in Boardman, on Feb. 15, 1941, and to whom she remained married for 62 years.
She owned and operated Marie Antoinette Bridal House on Youngstowns Westside on Mahoning Avenue for 20 years from 1963 until her retirement in 1983.
Mrs. Scarsella was a member of St. Brendan Church and the churchs Altar & Rosary Society. She was also a member of the P.T.A., was a Girl Scout leader, and was a charter member of the Elks Lodge No. 55 Emblem Club. Marie was a director of the West Side Merchants Association and was a member of the National Bridal Merchants Association.
She was very interested in creative writing and many of her articles, suggestions and comments were printed by local newspapers and magazines.
Mrs. Scarsella leaves two daughters and sons-in-law, Rosemarie Janosko and Edward Janosko of Hermitage, Pa. and Denise Kaniecki and Lieutenant Colonel, Ret., Charles Kaniecki of Newport News, Va.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Alfred M. Fred Scarsella Jr. and Cathy Scarsella of Boardman and Richard S. Scarsella and Debbie Mettee of Boardman; a brother, Eugene Modarelli and his wife, Carol of Wooster; five granddaughters, Anne Marie Janosko, Natalie Marie Scarsella, Eva Marie Scarsella, Bridget (Dan) Perez and Monica Theresa Scarsella; and five great-grandchildren, Nick and Gina Marie Kovacevic, Mary Bridget, John Paul and Maria Theresa Perez; and many nieces and nephews, including Ron and Helen Rae Tarantino, who loved her very much.
Besides her husband, two sisters, Twila Meckulch and Mildred Mille Tarantino; and two brothers, Sylvester Buddie Modarelli Jr. and Donald Modarelli, who was killed serving as a navigator in the U.S. Military during Word War II, are deceased.
Family and friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road in Youngstown.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, at the funeral home, and continue at 11 a.m. at St. Brendan Church on Oakwood Avenue in Youngstown.
Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.

Anthony G. Thomas Jr., 42
WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. Anthony G. Thomas Jr., 42, died April 15, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Anthony was born in Youngstown, the son of Anthony Thomas Sr. and Donna Thomas.
Anthony had resided in South Florida for the past 27 years, and was a longtime employee of Federal Express. In addition to his work, Anthony also served his community as an official for various youth and high school athletic sports.
Anthony was married in 2002 to his loving wife, Maria Thomas.
Anthony is survived by his wife, Maria; sons, Michael and Matthew; his father, Anthony Thomas Sr.; his mother, Donna; his brother, Charles Thomas; his sister, Michele Burka; his grandparents, Frank and Mary Gentile; and his in-laws, Michael and Linda Martinez.
Visitation was held Sunday, April 19, 2009, at the Palms West Funeral Home in Royal Palm Beach, Fla.
A funeral Mass will be held today, April 20, 2009, at 10 a.m. at St. Ignatius Loyola Cathedral, 9999 N. Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., with entombment following at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery in Royal Palm Beach.
We will miss you Anthony, as a son, grandson, husband, father and sibling.
