Robert T. DelSignore, 60

POLAND – Private services were held today for Robert T. DelSignore, 60, who passed away Monday at his home.

Robert was born on May 3, 1948 in Youngstown, a son of Joseph and Lottie R. Ostrowski DelSignore.

Robert lived in the area his whole life and retired from GM Lordstown after 32 years of service in the Material Department. He was of the Catholic faith and he also served in the Army in the 101st Airborne during the Vietnam War, where he earned a Purple Heart.

Robert married the former Carol A. Kuzila on Feb. 11, 1976.

Besides his wife and mother, Lottie R. Creque of Poland, he leaves two sons, Robert J. (Tracy) DelSignore of Poland and Andrew R. (Cynthia) DelSignore of Streetsboro; one daughter, Kellie (Scott) Arthur of McDonald; one brother, Joseph (Tracey) DelSignore of Hubbard; two sisters, Shirley Smith of Youngstown and Beverly (Pete) Vargo of Florida; and the loves of his life, his three grandchildren who knew him as “Papa,” Jesse, Vincent and Lauren, and awaiting the birth of a fourth grandchild. He also leaves a half brother, Brian (Karen) DelSignore; two stepbrothers, John and David Creque; and two stepsisters, Cynthia (Jim) Miketa and Cheri Creque.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Joseph DelSignore; stepfather, Donald Creque; and a brother, Ronald DelSignore.

Burial was at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.

Arrangements were handled by the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers.

Mary J. D’Eramo, 90

“Together Again”

NEWPORT NEWS, VA. – Mary J. D’Eramo, 90, died Friday, April 24, 2009, at James River Convalescent Home.

She was born March 28, 1919 in Aquila, Italy and came to the United States at three years old. She was the daughter of the late Peter Frattaroli and the late Guila (LaMarco) Frattaroli, and wife of the late Daniel E. D’Eramo, whom she married Sept. 16, 1939.

Family includes her sons, Robert E. and Tammy D’Eramo of Yorktown, Va. and Larry F. D’Eramo of Austintown; brother, Donald and Pattie Frattaroli of Warren, Mich.; and grandchildren, Robert E. D’Eramo Jr., attending Virginia Tech, Frank D. D’Eramo of Youngstown and Carissia L. and Chris Goodnite of Seaford, Va.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brothers, Dominic Frattaroli and Louis Frattaroli.

She was a member of St. Dominic Church and a 1937 graduate of Saint Anthony High School in Detroit.

Calling hours will be at the Fabrizio Funeral Home, 619 East Indianola Ave. in Youngstown on Saturday, May 2, from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

Services will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2009.

Theodore R. Hilbon Jr., 51

STRUTHERS – Theodore R. Hilbon Jr., 51, died Wednesday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Health Center after a massive stroke.

Teddy was born Nov. 9, 1957 in Youngstown, a son of Theodore and Clara Baker Hilbon. He was raised in Boardman and lived in the area for most of his life with the exception of six years in Florida.

He was a 1976 graduate of Boardman High School, and was a hollow grinder for Youngstown Grinding for 27 years and then for Southeast Cutlery in Oakland Park, Fla., for six years.

Teddy loved fishing, boating and video games and was an avid channel surfer. In Florida, he enjoyed walking the boardwalk every night. Teddy was especially known for his great sense of humor.

Besides his mother of Poland, he leaves four daughters, Corey (Forest) Pauley of Tucson, Ariz., Laura (Ben Burkey) Hilbon at home, Dezarae Luzier of Niles and Kesia Hilbon at home; four sisters, Diana L. Rybak of Pittsburgh, Deborah L. Hilbon of Florida, Dorothy Hilbon-Campbell of South Carolina and Delores Kaiser of Florida.; one brother, Terry Hilbon of East Palestine; and four grandchildren, Connor Pauley, Logan Pauley, Blake Hilbon, and Carissa Burkey.

Services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland Chapel with the Rev. Alex Hilliard officiating.

Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Lowellville.

Friends will be received Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Richard P. Yambor Kasunic Sr., 73

SOUTHINGTON – Richard P. Yambor Kasunic Sr., 73, passed away on April 23, 2009, in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

He was born April 18, 1936 in Cleveland to the late Julius and Rita (Garay) Yambor.

Richard was retired from General Motors.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sandi of Southington, whom he married Aug. 29, 1987; stepmother, Matilda Yambor of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; son, Richard P. (Darleen) Kasunic Jr. of Macedonia; daughter, Debra (Rick) Travers of Vail, Colo.; brother, Sonny Yambor of New Smyrna Beach; sisters, Lois (Tom) Muraco of Solon, JoAnne Yambor of Willoughby and Georgann (Keith) Perrotti of Santee, Calif.; and grandchildren, Ashlee, Heather, Tommy, Danny and Joey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Mathew Kasunic.

A celebration of Richard’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, 2009, at The Church in Aurora, 146 S. Chillicothe Road, Aurora, OH 44202, followed by a reception at The Bertram Inn.

The family suggests that contributions in Richard’s name be made to Duck’s Unlimited or the American Red Cross.

Robert J. Mathews, 78

COLUMBIANA – Robert J. Mathews, 78, passed away at 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at Forum Health Northside Medical Center.

He was born July 3, 1930 in Lowellville, the son of Daniel and Beatrice (Coyne) Mathews and came to Columbiana in 1964.

Bob retired in 1984 after 35 years from Republic Steel. He was a member of the Good Hope Lutheran Church in North Lima and the South Range Council of Church and Community. He was also a retired member of the United Steel Workers No. 1331. Bob served in the Army Corps of Engineers in the Korean Conflict.

Bob was preceded in death on Aug. 11, 1996 by his wife, Bette E. (Weaver) Mathews, whom he married March 30, 1958.

He is survived by his daughter, Danna Lynn of Columbiana and one brother, Ray Mathews of Enon Valley, Pa. He also leaves a soul mate, Judi Karcher of Columbiana.

Bob was preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel and Ralph Mathews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2009, at the Good Hope Lutheran Church in North Lima with the Rev. Ralph Edwards officiating.

Burial will be at Columbiana Cemetery, where a military honors ceremony will be performed by the American Legion Post 290 of Columbiana.

Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today, May 1, 2009, at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2009, at the Good Hope Lutheran Church.

Carol Elizabeth Parish, 61

HOWLAND TOWNSHIP – Carol Elizabeth Parish, 61, passed away at 5:20 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at University Hospital of Cleveland following a long battle with cancer.

Carol was born on Nov. 18, 1947, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Delores (Bean) Barnett, and grew up in Newton Falls.

In her youth, she was an active Girl Scout, a member of the Lake to River Girl Scout Council, and a Girl Scout Leader at Camp Sugarbush.

Carol graduated from Newton Falls High School and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Kent State University. She then enjoyed a 35 year career as a teacher in the Weathersfield Local School System. Carol taught special education and second grade at Seaborn Elementary School and English and reading at Mineral Ridge Middle School. Carol loved teaching and even after retiring in 2004, continued to substitute teach regularly.

Carol married Richard “Dick” Parish of Mineral Ridge on June 14, 1975. The young couple settled in Howland and soon had three sons, Jason (Michael Hyde) of Washington, D.C.; David of New York City and Michael (Nicole) of Columbus. Carol and Dick were involved in a number of community and school activities, and were members of the Mineral Ridge Church of Christ. Carol enjoyed spending time with her husband and family, traveling, collecting antiques and volunteering at Powers Auditorium. She looked forward to becoming a grandmother in the years to come.

Carol is survived by her husband and three sons; her brothers, Kenneth (Chloe) Barnett and Donald Barnett; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Audrey (Keeling) Parish of Mineral Ridge; dozens of nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, May 3, 2009, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Lane Funeral Home, Mineral Ridge Chapel.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 4, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Bob Gleason officiating at the Mineral Ridge Church of Christ, where friends may call again one hour prior to the service.

Burial will take place at Kerr Cemetery in Weathersfield Township.

The family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations to either the Youngstown Symphony Society or the American Cancer Society.

Linda L. Sadler, 66

COLUMBIANA – Funeral services were held for Linda L. Sadler, 66, at noon on Tuesday, April 28, at Hope Cemetery Chapel in Salem.

Burial was at Hope Cemetery in Salem.

Mrs. Sadler, formerly of Garfield Road, died on Sunday, April 26, 2009, at the Clare Bridge of Austintown.

She was a retired employee of the Wishing Well Coin Laundry in Boardman and was formerly employed as a secretary at Myers Equipment Co. in Canfield for 20 years.

Survivors include a daughter, Leslie (Rich) Costal of Salem; brother, Jack (Julie) Emch of Austintown; four grandchildren, Catlin, Kyle, Camrin and Kasey Costal; two stepsons, Robert (Rita) Sadler of Miami and Lewis (Melissa) Sadler of Fort Collins, Colo.; four stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

Condolences may be sent to her daughter, Leslie Costal, 1483 N. Lincoln Ave., Salem, OH 44460.

Thomas Shane Werner, 40

NEW CASTLE, PA. – Mr. Thomas Shane Werner, 40, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at his residence

Thomas was born in New Castle on May 5, 1968, the son of Thomas W. Werner and Esther Markovich.

Thomas was a graduate of Mohawk High School class of 1986.

He was unable to work due to his disabilities. He enjoyed passing his time following sports. Tom was a huge fan of all sports. He was an avid computer junkie and also enjoyed his favorite show the “Twilight Zone” and had amassed all the episodes in his collection.

Thomas will be missed by his father, Thomas W. Werner and wife Lynn of Bessemer, Pa.; mother Esther Markovich and husband Joseph of New Castle; grandmother Ruth Werner of New Galilee, Pa. He is also survived by his two sisters, Lisa and John Catron of Bessemer and Lorrie and Craig Shilling of Bessemer; one brother, Mark and Amber Werner of Bessemer; nephews, John Catron and Mathew Caughey; and niece Amanda Catron

Arrangements are being handled by the Terry A. Cunningham Funeral Home, 203 Oak St. in Bessemer, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today, May 1, 2009.

Funeral service will be at the Terry A. Cunningham Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2009, Dr. Jim Legge of the Bullcreek Presbyterian Church will officiate.

Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery Co. in New Castle.
