Herbert R. Guy, 80
YOUNGSTOWN There will be a funeral service held on Monday, May 4, 2009, at 10 a.m. with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio officiating at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. in Boardman, for Herbert R. Guy, 80, who passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2009, with his loving family by his side.
Herbert will always be remembered and loved by his family and friends.
He was born Nov. 4, 1928 in New Springfield, and moved to the Youngstown area as a child. Herbert is the son of Clem Dell and Hanna (Butler) Guy.
He was employed with Truscon Steel, which later became Republic LTV Steel, as a steel worker and retired in 1979.
Herbert was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, where he earned the rank of Private 1st Class.
He enjoyed gardening, doing yard and carpentry work.
He leaves behind to hold onto his memories, his beloved wife of over 48 years, the former Carmela Serino, whom he married Oct. 1, 1960, along with several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Berdell, Roy, Albert, Ray, and an infant brother; and four sisters, Loretta Davis, Pheobe Piesto, Isabelle Zurko and Irene Barringer.
Friends may call on Sunday, May 3, 2009, from 1 to 4 p.m. and on Monday, May 4, 2009, from 9:30 to 9:50 a.m., all at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. in Boardman.
Burial will take place at Lake Park Cemetery.
Carmela wishes to express her extreme thanks to the staff of A Wing Nurses Station at Ron Joy Nursing Home for all the care and love they expressed to Herb during his stay there. Especially to assistant director of nursing, Phyllis Prato and Dr. Ricciardi.

Michael N. Korecki, 59
CANFIELD Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home with Msgr. Victor Romza officiating for Michael N. Korecki, 59, who passed away Thursday in St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mike was born May 31, 1949, in Struthers, the son of Michael N. and Helen Sokol Korecki.
He was a 1967 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School.
Mike was a car salesman for Fairway Ford, an active member of the Campbell Gridiron Club, a member of the Board of Education and manager and vice president of the Babe Ruth Baseball League.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, the former Kim Alexander, whom he married July 28, 1973; a sister, Patricia (Gailen) Cramer of Campbell; a brother, Robert Lipply of Florida; his mother-in-law, Marion Alexander of Canfield; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Jane McCarty; a great-great nephew, Cole David Cramer; and his father-in-law, Joseph Alexander.
Mikes family wishes to thank the Paul Hrnchar family, the Bob Davis family, and all the Fairway Ford family for their kindness during Mikes illness.
The Korecki family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home, and will receive friends Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Monday, one hour prior to the service.
Ethel Lovas Menning Krichbaum, 95
AUSTINTOWN Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Ethel Lovas Menning Krichbaum, 95, who died Friday morning at Briarfield Manor.
Ethel was born Aug. 16, 1913 in North Jackson, the daughter of Louis and Mary (Varga) Lovas.
Ethel retired from the Packaging Corporation of America in 1974 after 22 years. She was a member of the Lord of Life Lutheran Church, and a 50-year member of the Eastern Star.
Her first husband, Michael C. Menning, whom she married in 1934, died in 1955. She then married Karl Krichbaum in 1966. Karl and Ethel then moved to Florida in 1984, following Karls death in 1990, Ethel moved back to the Canfield area in 1991.
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Raymond Menning; six brothers; one stepbrother; and a stepsister.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Delores) Menning; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Ethel will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Winifred C. Lloyd, 94
BOARDMAN - Winifred C. Lloyd, 94, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at Hospice House.
She was born May 13, 1914 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late George F. and Grace Muxlow Camm.
She was a graduate of South High School. She was a member of St Dominic Church.
In the 1950s, she worked for the Strouss Store and later for Livingstons in Boardman Plaza and the J.C. Penny Store in the mall, where everyone knew her as Sunny.
She loved music, especially singing. She and her sisters, during the Vaudeville years, performed at Keith-Albee in Youngstown. She loved crocheting afghans and telling stories. Education was very important to her, but more than that, she loved her family and her church.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie (Larry) Ungar in Strongsville; two sons, Robert W. Lloyd in Durham, N.C. and James K. Lloyd in Boardman; a sister, Evelyn Hohne in Abington, Md.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Lloyd, whom she married Jan. 14, 1939, and died March 13, 1999; a son, Roger T. Lloyd; and three sisters, Sarah Mary Adams, Grace Margaret Kulewsky and Hilda Horn.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 3, 2009, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Kirila Funeral Home Inc., 258 Poland Ave. in Struthers.
Services will be on Monday at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home and at 10 a.m. at St Dominic Church.
Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.

Doris Elaine Miller, 77
POLAND - Doris Elaine Miller, 77, of Chesterton Drive, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at the Hospice House.
Miss. Miller was born Jan. 1, 1932 in Poland, a daughter of Leon and Mable Mosley Miller. She was a lifelong area resident.
She was a 1950 graduate of Poland Seminary High School and attended Youngstown College. Doris worked as a Real Estate Agent for Burgan Real Estate for over 20 years, before retiring in 2001.
She was a lifelong member of the Poland United Methodist Church, where she was a member of its Singles Club.
She loved to bowl and golf and belonged to numerous leagues. She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends on Saturday nights. Doris was also a member of the Youngstown-Columbiana Association of Realtors.
She is survived by two sisters, Leona (Don) Simpkins and Peggy Moore, both of Poland; four nieces, Terry (Ray) Scharrer, Barbara Moore, and Cindy Moore, all of Poland and Kathleen (Tom) Joyce of New Springfield; one nephew, John (Karen) Simpkins of Youngstown; two great-nieces; five great-nephews; and a dear friend, Beryl Neiheisel of Poland.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Reedy; a brother, Robert S. Miller; a niece, Jeannie Shiminsky; a nephew, James Reedy; and a brother-in- law, Robert A. Moore.
Family and friends will be received Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland and Monday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the Poland United Methodist Church, where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Poland Riverside Cemetery.

Diana (Shuluga) Urichko, 51
YOUNGSTOWN Diana (Shuluga) Urichko, 51, passed away the morning of Friday, May 1, 2009 at Hospice House in Poland.
Diana was born in New Castle, Pa. on Feb. 28, 1958, the daughter of Thomas and Rachel (Cracraft) Shuluga.
She was a graduate of Mohawk High School in Bessemer and completed her nurses training at Youngstown State University School of Nursing.
Diana was employed by St. Elizabeth Health Center as an RN.
She married her best friend and soul mate, John Urichko, on Sept. 14, 1985.
Diana loved life, had a big heart for animals, and enjoyed walks in the parks.
She leaves behind her husband, John Urichko of Poland; her mother, Rachel Shuluga of Hillsville, Pa.; sister, Mrs. Brenda and husband Jeff Anglin of Poland; brother, the Rev. Russell and wife Nancy Shuluga of Sewickley, Pa.; and dearest friend, Roger (Doc) Marquette of New Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Shuluga and brother, Tommy Shuluga.
Arrangements are being handled by the Terry A. Cunningham Funeral Home, 203 Oak St. in Bessemer, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2009.
The funeral service will be at the Terry A. Cunningham Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2009, with her brother, the Rev. Russell Shuluga officiating, assisted by chaplain, Paul Hawkins
Graveside services will be at Bessemer Cemetery in Bessemer.

Violet Angeline (Savage) Wesolowski, 81
BESSEMER, PA. Violet Angeline (Savage) Wesolowski, 81, died Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at UPMC Presbyterian-University in Pittsburgh.
She was born on May 6,1927 in Mahoning Township, the daughter of the late Harry and Mildred (Pavlich) Savage.
She had attended Bessemer High School and was a devoted member of the Christ the King Parish, St. Anthony Church.
A homemaker, wife and loving mother, Violet was a devoted caretaker of her husband until his passing six months ago. They were married on Nov. 14, 1952.
Her favorite activities when time allowed, were flowers and birds.
She is survived by her three daughters, Dawna Tayebi and husband Ahmad of Houston, Susan Krulich and husband Joseph of Cleveland and Gail Calamerao and husband Michael of West Mifflin, Pa.; one sister, Virginia Hodzcak of Greensburg, Pa.; one brother, Harry Savage of Pacoima, Calif.; and two granddaughters, Ashley and Amanda Tayebi of Houston.
Arrangements are being handled by the Terry A. Cunningham Funeral Home, 203 Oak St. in Bessemer, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2009.
The funeral service will be at the Christ the King, St. Anthony Church at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009, with Fr. James Downs officiating.
Interment will be at St. Anthony Cemetery in Bessemer.

YOUNGSTOWN Graveside services will be today, May 2, 2009, at 9:30 a.m. at Tod Homestead Cemetery for Infant Jeremy C. Whitfield Jr., who was stillborn April 23, 2009, at Forum Health Northside Medical Center.
Infant Jeremy is survived by his loving parents, Cierra A. Harris and Jeremy C. Whitfield Sr.; a brother, Jordan Xavier Jackson; grandparents, Craig and Kimberly Whitfield and Jerome and Marie Penny Harris, all of Youngstown; great-grandparents, Martha Eldridge of Youngstown and Annie Harris of New Castle, Pa.; aunts and uncles, Craig Whitfield Jr., Mark Whitfiel, Tierra Hall, Jayshree Whitfield, Tiara Harris, Brian Harris and Jerome Harris Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was greeted at Heavens gate by his great-grandparents, Henry and Dorothy Hall, John H. Eldridge Sr. and Stanley Harris; and an aunt, LaWanda Vaughn.
