William (Billy) Hodari, 70

YOUNGSTOWN – There will be a funeral service held on Saturday, May 9, 2009, at 12:30 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. in Boardman, with Pastor Karl Rien officiating for William (Billy) Hodari, 70, who passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 .

Billy was born March 21, 1939 in Youngstown, the son of Stephen and Lucille Hodari.

Billy graduated from high school in California.

He was more than just your ordinary person, he was a one of a kind brother, uncle, and best friend. He never married or had children, but he was a father to his sisters six children, Julie, Kathy, Debbie, Ronnie, Stevie and Lori. He was also a grandfather to their children since their grandfather passed away before they were born. He was the heart and soul that held the family together and he will truly be missed.

Years ago he was diagnosed with Parkinson disease, but that did not stop him from living his life. A long time Cleveland fan, he spent his days listening to the radio, playing the lottery, and telling old family stories. He had many joys in his life, like going to the races, but nothing gave him as much joy as being with his family.

Many doctors told him his life was coming to an end but he never gave up the fight, he always found a way to prove them wrong. On May 6, 2009, the Lord could not wait any longer for Billy and took him home while he was sleeping. This loss has made this earth a weaker place, but heaven just got stronger.

He leaves behind, his sister, Patricia Williams, whom he lived with for most of his life. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Julie Pezzuolo (Norman), Debbie Wright (Paul), Ronnie Williams (Robyn), Lori Lude (Jason) and Ron Pezzuolo, as well as all of their children, whom he raised as his own.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Steve and Lucille Hodari; brother-in-law, David (Bear) Williams; nephew, Steven Williams; and niece, Kathy Delsignore (Williams).

Friends may call on Saturday, May 9, 2009, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:25 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. in Boardman.
