CINCINNATI Timothy James Bobo, 56, passed away Monday.
He was born Jan. 4, 1953 in Youngstown, the son of Rev. Walter and Juanita Carlton Bobo, moving to Cincinnati in 1992.
He served in the U.S. Army in Germany and was a member of the Greater Liberty Baptist Church. Mr. Bobo was the owner of PDG Group LP in Cincinnati for five years.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Vicky Bobo of Dayton, whom he married May 31, 1986; four sons, Branden Bobo and Timothy Bobo of Dayton, Darius M. (Leslie) Bobo and Malcolm X. (Cheryl) Bobo, both of Cincinnati; one daughter, Timikal J. Bobo of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one stepson, Ty A. Bobo of Cincinnati; two brothers, Lee Clarence (Ernestine) Bobo of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla. and Richard Henry (Sandra) Bobo of Southfield, Mich; three sisters, Jean Bobo White, Barbara Bobo Cooper and Sarah (Ronald) Bobo Smith, all of Youngstown; his sister-in-law, Blanche Bobo of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one aunt, Gwendolyn Page of Baltimore; special friend, Thelma Walker of Cincinnati; five grandchildren; mother of his children, Karen L. Dothard-Bobo of Dayton; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
Mr. Bobo was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Rev. Harrison and Rozalia Bobo; two brothers, Walter E. Bobo Jr. and Rev. William Bobo; and brother-in-law, Judson White.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 20, 2009, at 10 a.m. at the Greater Liberty Baptist Church.

Marie A. Carter, 93
YOUNGSTOWN Mrs. Marie A. Carter, 93, departed this life June 15, 2009 to be present with the Lord.
Marie was born Feb. 9, 1916 in Culpeper, Va., a daughter of Winfield and Mariah Lightfoot Carter.
Having been employed by the Treasury Department in Washington, D.C., she also was a licensed beautician, owning and operating her own beauty shop in Youngstown for 40 years. Years ago, she served as financial secretary while being a member of the Alpha and Omega First Baptist Church. She also was a former member of The Church in the Round in Aliquippa, Pa.
Her husband of 44 years, Lester Carter Sr., whom she married Feb. 28, 1945, passed away May 18, 1989.
Marie leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Cynthia Hendrix of Youngstown and Janice Adams of Washington, D.C.; three sons, Lester Jr. (Cassandra) of Youngstown, Sterling of Mineral Ridge and Keith of Youngstown; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and a host of family and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jewel Gatewood; a sister, Kitty Bell Curry; and two brothers, Eugene Carter and Sylvan Carter.
Friends may call Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Alpha & Omega First Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. at the church.

John S. Dobrilovic, 65
NORTH JACKSON John S. Dobrilovic, 65, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2009, surrounded by his family at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown following a sudden cardiac illness.
He was born April 14, 1944 in Ravenna, to the late John and Rose (Moderich) Dobrilovic.
John has lived in North Jackson for the past 31 years and was formerly of Ravenna.
He retired from GM in Lordstown after 36 years of service, where he was in skilled trades and was a skilled trades supervisor. He was an APCO member for 27 years and a Federal Escort at the Ravenna Arsenal.
He truly enjoyed sports, golfing, bowling, playing softball, and was also an avid hunter, fisherman, and archer. He was also a member of the Ravenna Boat Club for 46 years. In Johns spare time, he was a motorcycle enthusiast, enjoyed gardening and landscaping, and, when not traveling, spending quality time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Karen (Bescoe) Dobrilovic; son, John A. (Christine) Dobrilovic; daughter, Deborah A. (Mark) Herubin; grandchildren, Nicole, Mason and Nicholas; sister, Lynn (David) Duffy; brothers-in-law, Mike Bica and Kenneth (Joanie) Bescoe; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and aunts and uncles.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Teresa Bica; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Homer and Betty Bescoe; and nephew, Michael Bescoe.
Calling hours will be at 11 a.m. until time of funeral services at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2009, at the Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Homes, Ravenna Chapel.

Anna Dwulit, 86
Together Forever
MINERAL RIDGE Anna Dwulit, 86, formerly of the Brandywine Apartments in Cornersburg, passed away Tuesday morning, June 16, 2009, at Briarfield at The Ridge.
Anna was born April 15, 1923 in Stefkowa, Ukraine, a daughter of the late Ignatz and Rosalie Danylczak, and lived for the past 60 years in the Youngstown area.
She was a homemaker, worked as a part-time housekeeper for the International Institute in Youngstown, and also did housecleaning.
Anna was a member of the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Holy Trinity Pierogi Ladies and of the St. Anne Guild.
Annas husband, John Dwulit, whom she married Sept. 30, 1945, passed away Sept. 30, 1979.
Mrs. Dwulit leaves her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Mary Beth Dwulit; her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Tom Meek; five grandchildren, Michelle (Ralph) DeMichael and Kelly, Michael, Katie, and Scott Dwulit; a great-grandson, Jared DeMichael; a sister, Katherine Mazejko; and several nieces and nephews.
Anna will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Besides her husband, an infant daughter, Patricia, is deceased.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today, June 18, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road in Youngstown, where the Rosary Society will recite the Rosary at 5:30 p.m., and a prayer service will be held at 6 p.m.

Mary Lee Felder, 81
YOUNGSTOWN There will be a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Elizabeth Baptist Church for Mrs. Mary Lee Felder, 81, who went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 12, 2009.
She was the daughter of Idealia Bell-Howell and Hester Howell in Nesbit, Miss., and came to Youngstown in 1945 from Memphis, Tenn.
She united with the Elizabeth Baptist Church and was a member of the gospel choir and the usher board.
She was a 1946 graduate of East High School and attended Kent State University.
She retired in 1989 from G.F. Business and worked for the foster grandparent program as a teachers aide at Martin Luther King Elementary School.
She was a member of the Eastern Star, the Shaffettes Club, the Rockettes Bowling League and the McGuffey Center.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Joseph Jr. and Willie (Kathleen) Jim Felder; two daughters, Marlene and Joan Felder of Youngstown; eight grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Eva Freeman of Tucson, Ariz.; an adopted sister, Mrs. Mattie Clark of Youngstown; two special cousins, Edward Bell Jr. of Youngstown and Ernest Warren of Twinsburg; and a special nephew, Steven Freeman in Tucson.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three grandsons, Maurice Felder, Marques and Jamar Nickerson; and one granddaughter, Dereisha Brown.
Viewing will be Friday from noon to 4 p.m. at the F.D. Mason Memorial Funeral Home.

Leonard Ferro, 87
Together Again
STRUTHERS Leonard Ferro, 87, died Thursday, June 16, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Mr. Ferro was born Dec. 6, 1921 in Youngstown, to the late Frank and Christina Amanda Ferro.
He retired from General Fireproofing, where he worked as a paint serviceman for 62 years, retiring in 1983.
He was a corporal in U.S. Army, during World War II and was a member of St. Nicholas Church.
He is survived by two sons, Frank Ferro in Boardman and Leonard A. (Janine) Ferro of Struthers; daughters, Lucille Barbus of Boardman and Christina (Walter) Bolt of Struthers; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Delphina Valente Ferro, whom he married May 4, 1946, and who died Sept. 1, 1989; and three sisters, Pauline Palumbo, Josephine Palumbo and Patricia Ferro.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 19, 2009, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Kirila Funeral Home Inc., 258 Poland Ave. in Struthers.
Services will be on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Nicholas Church.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father and uncle. He loved baseball, especially the N.Y. Yankees. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

CANFIELD Prayers will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, June 19, at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 1 p.m. at St. Michael Church in Canfield for Frances J. Green, 87, who died Tuesday, June 16, at Hospice House in Poland, after a short illness.
Mrs. Green lived at Victoria House in Austintown, and had a home at Hunters Woods in Canfield.
She was born Dec. 3, 1921 in Meadville, Pa., one of 11 children of Frank and Loretta Guenther.
She married Charles Green on Feb. 14, 1942 and remained loving soul mates until his death in 1972.
She was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and her greatest joy was being with her family.
Before retiring, Mrs. Green worked as a mail teller at Dollar Bank.
She leaves to cherish her memory, four children, a son, Thomas (Lynn) Green of Thornville; three daughters, Joanne (Robert) Dobson of Boardman and Patricia (David) Machingo and Mary Ellen (Dale) Rhinehart, both of Canfield; and former son-in-law, Erich Schuller of Youngstown; two sisters, Joan Butcher and Alice Price, both of Meadville; eight grandchildren, Kristen Brinkman of Dublin, Craig (Cindy) Schuller of Connecticut, Evonne Schuller of Hilliard, Charles (Ronda) Schuller of Struthers, Matthew Machingo of Kent, Ryan Machingo and Breann Machingo, both of Canfield and Jay Rhinehart of Youngstown. She also leaves nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters; and three brothers.

Robert T. Hudzik, 62
MINERAL RIDGE Robert T. Hudzik, 62, of Terrace Park, died on Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Hospice of Cincinnati at Blue Ash, following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Mr. Hudzik was born June 20, 1946 in Youngstown, a son of Michael J. and Betty Gilmore Hudzik.
He was graduate of Mineral Ridge High School and the University of Cincinnati. He received his Masters Degree from the University of Iowa, where he was awarded honors from the Academy of American Poets. His poetry has appeared in Poetry Northwest, Slow Loris, and the Cincinnati Review. A collection of his work, From the Tree, was published in 1995. Bob retired in 2007 from the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County as head of the librarys films and recordings department. He instituted the librarys Poets in the Garden series that brought in poets from around the country, including United States Poets, Laureate Billy Collins and Louise Gluck. Bob was also a longtime student of the meditative from of exercise known as Tai Chi, studying under Master Mok Lau.
Surviving is his wife, the former Cynthia Thompson, whom he married on June 20, 1969; his mother, Betty of Mineral Ridge; brothers, Michael (Mary Chrys) of Niles, Donald (Mary Ann) and Charles of Mineral Ridge and Allan (Judy) of Austintown; and a nieces, nephews, an uncle, aunts and many cousins.
His father, Michael J. Hudzik, preceded him in death.
Friends may call on Friday, June 19, 2009, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Mineral Ridge, where a memorial service will follow at 7:15 p.m.

CAMPBELL Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Wasko Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, with Msgr. John Zuraw officiating, for Michael A. Kish, 79, who passed away Tuesday evening in St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Michael was born March 14, 1930 in Czechoslovakia, the son of Lona and Andrew Kiss and moved to the United States when he was 19 years old.
He was a member of the church and he retired from Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company and the Civic Tool Company as a Blacksmith.
Michael leaves to cherish his memory his siblings, Margaret DiPinto and Betty (Larry) Matzye, both of Struthers, Paul (Dorothy) Kish of Campbell, Sue (Gerald) Macala of California, Robert Kish of Baltimore, Md. and Shirley (Rudy) Zura of Campbell; 16 nieces and nephews; and 21 great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his mom, Elise Kish; a niece, Linda Kish; and an infant nephew, Zura.

Edgar J. Dutch Leeper, 92

EDINBURG, PA. Edgar J. Dutch Leeper, 92, of Countryside Estates, passed away the evening of June 16, 2009 at Jameson Memorial Hospital North Campus.
Born Oct. 23, 1916, in Edinburg, he was the son of Iona Spinx and Emma Pitts Leeper.
He married Virginia Pitzer Leeper on July 11, 1934. She passed away July 24, 2000.
Mr. Leeper was employed by Bruce & Merrilees Electric for 17 years and American Cyanamid Co. for 37 years.
He loved baseball, and was a baseball manager for many years for several county leagues, played city baseball, and loved his cat, Blackie.
Mr. Leeper was a life member of the Edinburg United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Joe Feil of New Bedford, Pa.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Zane E. and Margie Leeper of New Castle and David E. and Carolyn Leeper of New Castle; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Elizabeth Felger, Ethel Kuhn and Olive Book; one brother, Joseph Leeper; and one grandson, Tim Dieter.

Antoinette was born March 20, 1925 in Pittsburgh Pa., the daughter of Alfred and Martha Acierno Squillante.
She was a graduate of South High School. Antoinette was employed at Anco Company, a bus company in downtown Youngstown and General Electric. She was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church and the Teamsters Union.
Antoinette enjoyed crocheting, watching movies, spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and most of all she loved cooking for her family.
Her husband Armand, whom she married Nov. 6, 1948, passed away Feb. 24, 2007.
Antoinette will be missed by her son, Vincent (Joyce) Marco of Boardman; a granddaughter, Kelly (Robert) Havrilla of Boardman; great-grandchildren, Vincent and Jenna Havrilla; two stepgrandchildren, Kelly (Bill) Donnadio and Justin Donofrio; four stepgreat-grandchildren, Austin and Cameron Yemma and Dayna and Ryan Donnadio; a sister, Mary (John) Locketti of Youngstown; and a brother, Anthony (Lana) Squillante of Columbus.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Angie Squillante and an infant brother, Dominic.

POLAND Michael Clayton McGaughey, 51, died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 14, 2009, in Huntington, Pa.
He was born Dec. 10, 1957 in Sewickley, Pa., the son of Fred and Sylvia Capozzoli McGaughey of Bell Acres.
He was currently employed as a sales manager for National Shelter Products of Hudson.
Surviving in addition to his parents is his wife, Chris Reese McGaughey; two daughters, Jessica Ashley McGaughey of University of South Carolina Upstate and Sara Allison McGaughey of Otterbein College in Westerville; a brother, Stephen McGaughey and his wife, Michaelene of Economy, Pa.; a sister, Kathy Ferguson and her husband, Richard of Dublin; two nieces, Alex Ferguson of Dublin and Kristy McGaughey of Economy; two nephews, Steve McGaughey of Ambridge, Pa., and Jeff McGaughey of Economy; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law, Doris Reese of Euclid.
Preceding him in death was his maternal grandparents, Queenie and Helen Capozzoli and paternal grandparents, Fred and Romaine McGaughey.
Friends will be received today from 2 to 8 p.m. at the John Syka Funeral Home Inc., 833 Kennedy Drive in Ambridge, where a service will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m.

Dr. William C. Shook, 81
AUSTINTOWN Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Dr. William C. Shook, 81, who died Tuesday afternoon.
Dr. Shook was born Jan. 5, 1928 in Youngstown, the son of Clarence and Flora Bell (Roth) Shook.
He was a graduate of Austintown Fitch High School in 1946, Youngstown State University, The Ohio State University and Cleveland Podiatry School. Dr. Shook retired in 1993 from his Podiatry practice. He operated on Mahoning Avenue for many years.
He was a member of the Youngstown Masonic Lodge No. 615 and a former member of the North Jackson Kiwanis Club.
Dr. Shook is survived by several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Dorothy Bishop; and brothers, Robert and Dale Shook.

James Michael Jim Smith, 39
TUCSON, ARIZ. James Michael Jim Smith was born July 16,1969 in Youngstown and went home to be with the Lord June 15, 2009.
Jim leaves his wife of 18 years, Alicia (Daniels) Smith; four boys, Zachary (18), Luke (17), Matt (13) and Brennen (10); his parents, Jack and Margaret Smith; brother, Bob (Patty) Smith; sister, Mary (Tony) Daniels; nephews, Jake, Justin and Jonah; and nieces, Katie, Peyton and Audrey.
Jim was raised in Austintown and attended Immaculate Heart of Mary School to 8th grade and graduated from Austintown Fitch High School in 1987, where he met his wife, Alicia. The two were married Sept. 29, 1990.
Jim lived his life to the fullest, always putting his family first. He was a trusted friend and a hard worker.
Jim moved his family to Arizona in 2001, where he worked for Foxworth-Galbraith Lumber Company and served as general manager of the Yuma and Tucson locations. During his eight years with the company, Jim earned several awards, which included the most prestigious Zenith award. His location was also chosen as supplier of the year by SAHBA in 2005. Jim was a gifted manager who simply lit up the room when he entered.
Jim was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in August of 2007. He fought a courageous battle and ultimately won the race as a true servant of God.

YOUNGSTOWN Services will be Saturday, June 20, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church for Mr. Thomas Washington Sr., 83, who entered eternal life Monday evening at Hospice House.
Mr. Washington was born July 17, 1925 in Morgansville, Ala., a son of Andrew and Ida Hurst Washington.
He attended Youngstown State University, where he received a certificate for Private Police Training. He had worked at Federal Foods, National Security, was a maintenance supervisor with the Cafaro Company, and worked for LTV Steel Youngstown Sheet & Tube for 38 years, retiring in 1985.
He was a member of the Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church and its Usher Ministry. He was also a member of VFW Donald Locket Post 6488.
He enjoyed fishing and traveling, and was a World War II Army veteran, having served in the Invasion at Normandy.
He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, Marcia L. Washington, with whom he made his home; two sons, Thomas (Robin) Washington Jr. of Cincinnati and Ronald (Lillian) Parker of Jamestown, N.C.; five grandchildren, a brother John (Margaret) Washington and two sisters, Belma Johnson and Mollie Pippens, all of Youngstown.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Alma Johnson, Beatrice Phillips, Fannie Hendricks and Annie Mae Moore; and four brothers, Claude, Dudley, Gurtha and George Washington.
Friends may call Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Gerald L. Weimer, 72
LAKE MILTON Private services were held for Gerald L. Weimer, 72, who passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at his home.
Gerald was born Dec. 14, 1936 in Cleveland, the son of Harold G. and Cora V. (Fern) Weimer.
He was an installer and foreman with Ohio Bell for 30 years, retiring in 1985. Jerry and his wife also owned Weimers Dairy Stop in Lake Milton for 14 years, and he was the owner of Jerrys Flag Car Service for nine years.
Gerald was an Army veteran, serving during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and was of the Methodist faith.
He leaves his wife, the former Sharon K. Stanison, whom he married Aug. 8, 1959; four children, Russell L. (Nan) Weimer of Lake Milton, Timothy W. (Lori) Weimer of Ocean Springs, Miss., Jeffery A. Weimer of Lake Milton and Beth (Narci) Munoz of Findlay. Jerry also leaves one brother, Lawrence (Jackie) Weimer of Walton Hills and 11 grandchildren.
Jerry was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and enjoyed the time he spent with his family and his dogs. Jerry was a well-known member of his community, known for his kindness, willingness to help others, and the joy of conversation. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
There were no calling hours.

Edward J. Zaskey Sr., 86
YOUNGSTOWN Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 19, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Christine Church in Youngstown with the Rev. Msgr. David Rhodes celebrating for Edward J. Zaskey Sr., who passed away Tuesday morning, June 16.
Edward was born Nov. 30, 1922 in Youngstown, the son of Anthony and Sally Cibroski Zaskey.
He served his country with pride, during World War II in the U.S. Army Air Force. Edward was a draftsman and worked for Siebert, Worley & Kirk.
He was a member of St. Christine Church. Edward enjoyed watching football and model planes.
His wife, the former Norma Bartolome, whom he married Oct. 4, 1955, passed away Nov. 24, 1997.
He is survived by a son, Edward J. Zaskey Jr. of Youngstown; two sisters, Josephine Luscri of Georgia and Mary Clemente of Boardman; and a brother Joseph Zuchowski of Arizona.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Stella DeAngelis and Vicki Miralia; and a brother, Anthony Zaskey.
Edward will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery with full military honors provided by the great men of our local V.F.W. Post No. 9571 in Ellsworth.
