YOUNGSTOWN - Catherine G. Bayer, 91, of Austinwoods Nursing Center, passed away on Wednesday night following a long struggle with Dementia and Alzheimers Disease.
Catherine was born April 4, 1918, in Chicago, the daughter of Stanley Irvin and Anna Helen (Nicpon) Woodford. Mr. Woodford passed away in 1920, after which Catherines mother married Leo Sattler.
Catherine was married to Lloyd Buggsy F. Bayer on Dec. 30, 1951, and he preceded her in death Jan. 3, 2000.
She moved to Santa Monica, Calif., with the B.F. Williams Tie Company from Youngstown around 1941. After a short time, she was hired as a nanny for the children of Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Daves, a movie writer and director, until the children became of age, after which her sister, M. Louise, helped her find work as a Long-Distance Operator in the Hollywood, Calif., Exchange. They both transferred home to the Youngstown Exchange in 1951.
She was a member of the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Austintown, where she was asked to form a Altar Guild to care for the Sanctuary. She was a member of SOAR, Steelworkers Organization of Active Retirees, and the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 301, where she once served as Chaplin. Catherine and Lloyd were one of the U.S. Steel families that formed the Waggin Wheels Travel Trailer Club in 1961. Together they also assisted in forming the Cornersburg Happy Seniors, and after that, Chapter 4339 of the A.A.R.P.
Catherine is survived by her son, Lloyd Jr., who married Elouise McGuckin (Miller); a granddaughter, Amy McGuckin; two sisters, Margaret Lukas and Mary Louise Sattler; a brother, Robert Sattler; a nephew, Stephen Lukas; and many other beloved cousins, nephews and nieces.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; stepfather; two children, Phillip Allen and Cynthia Kay; a grandson, Aaron M. McGuckin; a sister, Genevieve Woodford; a brother, Leo Sattler; and a brother-in-law, Stephen Lukas.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Lane Funeral Home, 5797 Mahoning Ave. in Austintown and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 162 S. Raccoon Road, with the funeral service to follow.
The burial will be at Lake Park Cemetery.

Patricia Patty Pat Bodak, 62
YOUNGSTOWN - Patricia Patty Pat Bodak, 62, of the citys west side, passed away Wednesday afternoon, July 15, 2009, at her home with her husband and daughter by her side, following a courageous and recurring battle with metastatic breast cancer.
Patty was born Jan. 30, 1947, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Michael and Stella Powlysyn Fedina, was a 1965 graduate of Chaney High School, and a lifelong area resident.
In her younger years, Patty worked at Youngstown Steel Door and Retail Credit Company. Patty married, became a homemaker and devoted her life to raising and caring for her family, each of whom she loved in a special way.
Pat was a member of Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church-Byzantine Rite, where she was baptized, raised and married. She later joined St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church-Byzantine Rite in Austintown where she was active for the past 40 years. She was a volunteer for the parish pyrohy project, annual parish festivals, and was a Eucharistic Adoration participant. Patty also enjoyed cooking for Father Walter, pastor of the church, for many years.
Patty looked forward each fall to tailgating at YSU football games with her family and friends, which she did for many years.
Patty leaves her husband, Frank Wesley Bodak, whom she married July 26, 1969, and with whom she would have celebrated 40 years of marriage next week. Patty unconditionally and amazingly cared for her husband over the past eight years, after he suffered a stroke; Patty also leaves her daughter, Holly (Tim) Rinkes of Canal Fulton; three sons, Michael Mischa Bodak of Columbus, Darren (Amy) Bodak of Struthers, and Nicholas Bodak at home; a twin sister, Dorothy (John) Barak of Avon; a brother, Thomas (Joanne) Fedina of Boardman; and her five grandchildren whom she loved and enjoyed immensely, Briana, Logan, and Alaina Rinkes, and Arielle and Kristen Bodak.
A sister, June Jenkins is deceased.
Family and friends may call today, July 19, 2009, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road in Youngstown, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 20, 2009, at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church-Byzantine Rite, 526 West Rayen Ave. in Youngstown, where Pats family will receive relatives and friends in the parish courtyard from 10 until 10:45 a.m.
Pats family expresses their sincere thanks to the staff of Grace Hospice, especially to Lory and Brandi, for the kindness and care extended to Patty during her illness. Patty also loved and respected her oncologist, Dr. Amy Awaida, truly appreciating the compassion she showed and care she gave, and Patty was grateful for the care shown to her by the staff at the Hope Cancer Center. Thanks to all who cared supported and visited Patty during her battle.
Pattys final resting place will be near her home at Calvary Cemetery.

CANFIELD A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at noon at St. Luke Roman Catholic Church in Boardman for Patricia Carlomagno, 85, who passed away Friday evening at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Patricia was born Aug. 27, 1923, in Youngstown, a daughter of Albert and Marietta (Carosella) LaCivita
Patricia was a graduate of East High School and received a bachelors degree in Education from Youngstown State University. Her passion was for teaching. She was a 3rd grade teacher at St. Christine School for 25 years, retiring in 1989. Patricia would volunteer her time tutoring children in the summer. She was a member of St. Michael Church, enjoyed traveling and was an excellent cook.
The love of her life, Joseph Henry Carlomagno, whom she married Dec. of 1943, passed away May of 1990.
Patricia was a dedicated mother to her daughter, Patricia (Ralph) Moretti, and her son, Joseph Carlomagno, both of Canfield. She also leaves a sister, Ann Marie DiPasqua; many nieces and nephews; and her Goddaughter, Margaret Nigro.
Besides her parents and her husband, Patricia was preceded in death by two sisters, Rose Petrich and Margaret Grace Fata, and four brothers, Angelo, Ralph, Lawrence, and Louis LaCivita.
The family will be receiving friends from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at St. Luke Roman Catholic Church.

Thomas J. Daley Sr., 86
STRUTHERS Prayers will be held Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church for Thomas J. Daley Sr., 86, who passed away peacefully Saturday at Hospice House with his family by his side.
Tom was born Sept. 6, 1922, in Youngstown, the son of the late James M. and Agnes McCabe Daley.
Tom was a 1941 graduate of East High School. He was a clerk for the railroad at Republic Steel, retiring in 1984. Tom was a member of the Jolly Bowling League for 30 years and the Struthers Gridiron Club. He was an avid golfer and a lifetime Notre Dame fan. His greatest love was being with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Tom leaves his wife of 58 years, Patricia A. Campbell, whom he married June 30, 1951; two daughters, Beth (Mark) Carden of Struthers and Sue (Tom) Babinec of New Middletown; three sons, William (Karen) Daley Austintown, Thomas (Debbie) Daley Jr. of Struthers and Jack (Carol) Daley of Struthers; a daughter-in-law, Jane Bohrer of Poland; 14 grandchildren, Lee (Jeff) Noone, Stacy (Frank) DeMain, Kimberly (John) Yurko, Tricia (Phil) Missos, Michael (Megan) Daley, TJ (Kristina) Daley III, Kelly Daley, Melissa (Jim) Bennett, Jessica Daley, Ryan Daley, Jake Courtney, Patrick Carden, and Natalie and Rachel Babinec; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Richard Daley; a sister, Elaine Davis; three brothers, John, James, and William Daley; and an infant brother, Joseph Daley.
The family will be receiving friends Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Scott A. Dawson, 45
AUSTINTOWN - Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Scott A. Dawson, 45, who passed away Thursday morning at Hospice House surrounded by family and friends after a courageous two-year struggle with cancer.
Scott was born July 30, 1963, in Youngstown, the son of Thomas and Lois (Swisher) Dawson.
He had worked for Modern Building Supply for 12 years and later worked as a mechanic for Newhards Auto Sales. Scott enjoyed NASCAR racing and attending the Hot Rod Nationals.
Scott is survived by his parents of Austintown; a sister, Kelly Turner, and two brothers, Thomas R. (Michelle) Dawson and Richard (Marjorie) Dawson, all of Austintown. He also leaves seven nieces and nephews, Tommy Dawson, James Dawson, Brad Dawson, Brandon Dawson, Jeffrey Dawson, Sara Dawson and Cortney Turner; and a great-niece and nephew, Amber Dawson and Evan Dawson (children of Tommy Dawson).
Friends may call at the funeral home from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday prior to the services.

Thomas H. Fahringer
BROOKFIELD Mr. Thomas H. Fahringer, 53, of 7851 Fairview Ave., died peacefully Friday morning at his residence after an extended illness.
Mr. Fahringer was born in Sharon, Pa., Nov. 21, 1955, the son of the late William d. Fahringer Sr. and Helen R. Hart.
He was a 1973 graduate of Brookfield High School and a 1978 graduate of the Dana School of Music at YSU with a B.S. in music.
He was a member of Liberty Presbyterian Church in Youngstown and was the former organist and choir director for 30 years. He was a system operator at Alltel/Verizon Communications in Boardman and had worked at Dollar Bank in Youngstown.
Tom was a gifted vocalist and pianist and entertained at area functions and benefits using the stage name of Tom Hart. He had played with the band Prime Time at the former Schusters Restaurant in Masury for many years. He truly enjoyed music and performing.
Survivors include his aunt, Virginia Fahringer of Boardman; his sister, Connie Crandell and husband Jack of Virginia Beach, Va.; his brother, William D. Fahringer Jr. and wife Frances of Prospect Heights, Ill.; a niece, Anna Fahringer; two nephews, Jeff and Christian Pierce; two great-nephews, Branden and Dillon Pierce; and his faithful dog, Sailor.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home in Sharon. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Phillips, Mineral Ridge and Presbyterian Church officiating.
Interment will be at Brookfield Township Cemetery.

Martin S. Farkas, 75
UPPER ARLINGTON Martin S. Farkas, 75, born Nov. 22, 1933, entered into eternity July 14, 2009.
He was preceded in death by his father, Martin Steven, and mother, Mary (Yavorsky) Farkas, and his sister, Mary Louise Bryant.
Martin is survived by his wife, Lucille Farkas; brother James (Margaret) Farkas of Boardman; son John (Renee) Farkas of Brentwood, Tenn.; daughter Cecilia (John) Shave of Lake Forest, Ill.; and grandchildren Bennett Farkas, Luke Farkas, Lauren Farkas, Madeline Shave and Sullivan Shave.
Born in Youngstown, Marty graduated from Warren Harding High School and went on to complete his undergraduate degree and a Master of Science and Metallurgical Engineering degree from The Ohio State University. He worked for the majority of his career at the Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus. He enjoyed his involvement in several investment clubs and also enjoyed providing volunteer tax preparation for those in need. He attended St. Andrews Catholic Church in Upper Arlington.
Marty was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2009, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1899 McCoy Road at Reed Road, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, with Fr. Michael Watson as Celebrant.
Private interment will be at a later date.
Family will receive friends at a reception immediately following the Mass at Bryce Eck Hall.

FOWLER Private services were held for Lucy I. Folio, who passed away Sunday, July 12, 2009, at Meadowbrook Manor. She was 91 years of age.
Lucy was one of eight children born to Italian immigrant parents. She grew up in Warren and later moved to Youngstown, where she resided for most of her life.
Lucy is survived by a son, Floyd Folio. She is also survived by two sisters, Hermenia Gaylog and Inez Sarni.

June Arlene Gruber, 84
NEW WATERFORD Private funeral services were held on Friday, July 17, 2009, at the Thompson Funeral Home, 4221 Market St. in Boardman, for June Arlene Gruber, 84, who died Wednesday afternoon, July 15, 2009, at Saint Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
She was born June 3, 1925, in New Castle, Pa., the daughter of the late Julius and Pearl Brown Huber, and moved to the Youngstown area as a child.
June graduated from Wilson High School. She was a member of the Heritage Presbyterian Church, formerly John Calvin St. Paul United Church of Christ.
Her husband, Leland A. Gruber Sr., whom she married March 22, 1947, died Nov. 13, 1998.
June was survived by a daughter, Darlene P. (Ralph) Goist of New Waterford, with whom she made her home; three sons, Leland A. (Rene) Gruber of Phoenix, Charles E. (Janet) Gruber of Pekin, Ill. and Timothy M. (Esther) Gruber of San Dimas, Calif.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Dorothy Sheridan; and a brother, Roy Huber.

Mary Margaret Marni Heyer, 72
LAKE MILTON Mrs. Mary Margaret Marni Heyer, 72, of 3611 Blue Lagoon Drive in Ruskin, Fla., formerly of Hermitage, Pa., died peacefully Wednesday at 3:56 p.m. at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh after a brief illness.
Mrs. Heyer was born in Warren on June 30, 1937, the daughter of the late Ralph and Marcella (Tipper) Bixler.
She was a 1956 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and attended Lake Erie College for three years.
She married Arthur E. Heyer on March 19, 1960. He survives at home.
Besides her husband, her survivors include her daughter, Kristan Ashby of Sharon, Pa.; her son, Jeffrey Allen Heyer of Tampa, Fla.; along with her grandchildren, Ashley Eicher and Maria and Daniel Ashby, along with her foster grandchildren, Ashley, Tiffany and David Brock.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph E. Bixler.
Family will greet friends on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to noon at the Sharon First United Methodist Church.
Memorial service will be at Sharon First United Methodist Church at noon on Tuesday, July 21, with the Rev. Richard Carlson officiation.

Kathleen Lynn Kline, 38
LAKE WORTH, FLA. There will be a memorial service at 1 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2009, at the Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home for Kathleen Lynn Kline, 38, formerly of Hubbard, who passed away Thursday, July 16 from injuries suffered as a result of an auto accident.
Kathleen was born July 8, 1971, in Cleveland, a daughter of Jack R. and Frances M. Drown Kline.
She worked in the hospitality industry in Lake Worth, most recently working at Sneakers Bar and Grill.
She is survived by her siblings, Kimberly Kline of Hubbard, Scott Kline and Todd Kline, both of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Jack Kline of Hubbard. She also leave her two nephews, Landon Kline and Nathan Kline; and her nieces, Raychel Kline and Kayla Kathleen Kline.

STRUTHERS Private services were held at the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers on Saturday for Margaret Louise Mulgrew who died Wednesday, July 15. She resided in Struthers with her daughter, Michele Bodine.
Margaret was born July 7, 1926, in Youngstown, a daughter of Michael E. and Catherine Miller Dugas.
She married James J. Mulgrew on Jan. 20, 1947. She was an avid bowler, loved cards, bingo and knitting and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family.
Margaret leaves behind three sons, James (Rumjuan) Mulgrew of Valdosta, Ga., John Mulgrew of Struthers and Thomas Mulgrew of Youngstown; four daughters, Michele (Gino) Bodine of Struthers, Catherine (Cam) (Gary Sovik) Terrago of Poland, Melissa (Jim) DiBacco of Boardman and Danielle (David Shears) Mulgrew of Jasper, Texas; one sister, Barb Opritza of Struthers; 11 grandchildren, Christina Lyles, James Mulgrew III, Nathaniel Mulgrew, Samuel Mulgrew, Matthew Mulgrew, Jan Salsedo, Jason Mulgrew, Carie Snyder, Ashley Hackett, Brian DiBacco, Andria DiBacco; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, James, who died Jan. 27, 1982; two brothers, Robert Bohl and Michael Dugas; and one sister, Jane Fauls.
Donald C. Olliges, 75
CINCINNATI Donald C. Olliges, 75, devoted husband of Marlene Olliges (Hofmann) for 53 years, loving father of Lynne (Ed) Friel, Laurie (Joe) Kaufman, and William (Rebekah) Olliges and dear grandfather of 10 grandchildren, passed away suddenly July 17, 2009.
He was preceded in death by one grandson and his sisters, Ann MacFarland and Joan Babe Young.
Visitation will take place at St. Michael Church, 11144 Spinner Ave. in Sharonville, Ohio, on Tuesday, July 21 from 9 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m.

Mr. Robinson was born May 30, 1971, in Youngstown, a son of Floyd Davis Jr. and Mary Ann Robinson.
He attended East High School and was presently enrolled at Youngstown State University, where he was majoring in Business Administration. His passion was working on automobiles, and he was a mechanic by trade.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his mother, Mary Ann Robinson Thomas, and father, Floyd (Cynthia) Davis, both of Youngstown; six daughters, KiAsha Robinson, FloAsha Robinson, Brittany and Whittany Robinson, KeyMarra Robinson and Shakayla Robinson; four sons, Terel Carter, Delonte Carter, Clevael Workman and James Barnes; two sisters, Jasmine (T J) Rodgers and Sparkle Sanders, all of Youngstown; three brothers, Dwayne Robinson of Indianapolis and Tyrone Robinson and Clay (Pamela) Sanders of Youngstown; two grandchildren; his best friend, Brian McClain; and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Bertha Robinson and Eli and Creola Davis.
David J. Romberger, 70
WARREN Memorial services will be held at a later date for David J. Romberger, 70, who died early Friday evening at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.
He was born Nov. 14, 1938, in Higgins, Pa., a son of George F. and Sadie (Lucas) Romberger.
He was currently working as a cook for Dinos Restaurant in North Jackson. He was a member of the Victory Christian Center in Coitsville. He enjoyed woodworking, and he loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, the former Sandra J. Beckley, whom he married June 25, 1976. He also leaves behind two sons, Thomas (Glenda) Adams of Lordstown and Timothy (DeAnna) Adams of Niles; six grandchildren, Willy, Joey, Bethany, Damion and Sabastian Adams and Dina Baxter; one great-granddaughter, Chloe Baxter; a brother, Jack (Mildred) Romberger of Allentown, Pa.; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Romberger of Williamsport, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Rev. Arland Romberger.

Joseph C. Sekerak, 66
NEWTON FALLS Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at 10 a.m. at St. Nicholas Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church, with Fr. Kenneth Bachofsky officiating, for Joseph C. Sekerak, 66, who passed away Friday morning, July 17, 2009, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
Joseph C. Sekerak was born April 26, 1943, in Warren, the son of Joseph and Helen Kunichko Sekerak.
He was a 1961 graduate of Niles McKinley High School. He moved to Newton Falls in 1973. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Vietnam Conflict, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He retired in 2000, after 33 years, from Delphi Packard Electric, where he was a beloved electrician.
He was a member of St. Nicholas Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church, where he enjoyed working with his fellow parishioners in the Kitchen Crew. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling and was a handyman.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Hummer Sekerak, whom he married Oct. 19, 1968; two sons, Joseph R. (Patricia) Sekerak of Lordstown and David M. (Jessica) Sekerak of Philadelphia, Pa.; three grandchildren, Faith, Joseph and Erin Sekerak; and two brothers, Michael (Lynn) Sekerak of Port Orchard, Wash., and John Sekerak of Niles. He also leaves a Goddaughter, Veronica (Jack) Zurcher of Warren.
His parents; a son, Matthew James Sekerak; and a sister, Barbara Sekerak, preceded him in death
Calling hours will be Monday, July 20, 2009, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel where a Panachida service will take place at 8 p.m. There will also be calling hours Tuesday morning at the church, one hour prior to services.
Burial will be at Pineview Memorial Park.

YOUNGSTOWN - Prayers will be held Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at Higgins-Reardon Funeral, Poland Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, for Emily Sharkey, who died peacefully at Trumbull Memorial Hospital July 17, 2009, surrounded by her family.
Emily was born in Youngstown Jan. 24, 1920, daughter of Helen and John Lonczkowski, and was a lifelong resident of Youngstown.
A 1938 graduate of The Rayen School, she was employed over the years in the credit department of he Strouss-Hershberg Department Store, the H.J. Heinz Co. and 12 years in the Admissions Office of Youngstown State University, retiring in 1985. She was a member of St. Nicholas Church in Struthers.
Emily was a member of the Gold Torch Chapter of ABWA, Womens Retiree Group of YSU, Public Employee Mahoning Chapter, and the YSURA State Chapter. She was honored by the Gold Torch Chapter of ABWA as Woman of the Year in 1987.
Her husband, Mathew, whom she married in 1951, passed away in November 1964.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Regina Hetman, Helen Duda, Louise Slepski and Theresa Beckley, and brothers Zigusmund Kajawski and Henry Lentz.
She is survived by her children, Sally (Joseph) Levine of Solon, Thomas (Sharon) Sharkey of Austintown and Carole (Robert) Manley of Roswell, Ga. There are four grandchildren, Kristen and Kayla Sharkey, Kate Manley and Nicholas Levine. Emily also leaves many nieces and nephews and dear lifelong friends.
Emily loved to spend quality time with her grandchildren and family. She will be sadly missed by many.
The family will be receiving friends Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Elvina Skinny Tareshawty, 78
POLAND Elvina Skinny Tareshawty, 78, of Jupiter, Fla., and Poland, Ohio, passed away June 4, 2009, at the Hospice House, after a courageous five-year battle with neurovascular disease.
Born in Youngstown on Aug. 3, 1930, she was a daughter of Lucia Saccorsi and Sante DAppollonio.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene; her four children, Sandra Williamson, Darlene Heckman; Camille Tareshawty and Dr. Eugene Jr. Tareshawty; her sister-in-law, Veneta Tareshawty; six grandchildren; and four great-grandsons. She also leaves her brother, Joseph Dapple.
There will be a Memorial Mass at 11 a.m. Thursday, July, 23, 2009, at St. Edward Church in Youngstown.

Walter Bird Bud Turner Jr., 86
BUTLER, PA. Walter Bird Bud Turner Jr., 86, formerly of Youngstown, died peacefully at his home on June 24, 2009.
He was born Dec. 18, 1922, in Youngstown, the son of Dr. Walter B. Turner and Helen (Jennings) Turner.
His early years were spent here, attending Yale School and graduating from The Rayen School.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in both World War II and the Korean War as a captain in the Medical Corps. Following the service, he became a sales manager for the Castle Rubber Company in Butler. A position he held for 40 years.
He was a former member of the Butler Country Club, the Butler Elks, the Butler Rotary and a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.
Bud was an excellent golfer and even in his later years, he and his friends formed their own golf group called The Dirty Dozens, playing on all the local golf courses.
He is survived by three devoted sons, Walter B. Turner III and his wife, Vickie of Butler, John Turner and his companion, Karen Frye of Butler and Thomas Turner of Butler; two grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and a stepgreat-grandchild.
He also leaves two sisters, Sallie McKelvey of Youngstown and Helen Grayce McNeish of San Marino, Calif.; a brother, Dr. John Jacob Turner and his wife, Carolyn of Youngstown; and a lifelong dear friend, Dr. Robert Bo Edwards also of Youngstown.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Gladys L. (Gage) Turner, who died March 25, 1993.
Private services for Walter Bud Turner were arranged by the Young Funeral Home in Butler and burial was at the Northside Cemetery also in Butler.
A memorial service will take place at a later date.
