Roseann Theresa Baca, MS, MT(ASCP), SM, 49
CANFIELD There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Youngstown with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio officiating, preceded by a 9:15 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. in Boardman for Roseann Theresa Baca, 49, who went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, with her loving family and many friends at her side at the Hospice House after a courageous battle with breast cancer..
Roseanns friendly smile and the hello she always spoke to everyone will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She was born July 12, 1960, in Warren, the daughter of Alberto Francesco and Norma (Fiore) Baca and was a lifelong area resident.
Roseann was employed with Humility of Mary Health Partners for 31 years. She started at the age of 18 as a clerk in the Laboratory Department. She went on and became a Medical Technologist along with Microbiology Manager. Roseann was currently the Laboratory Manager at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren, Lab Manager for St. Elizabeth Emergency and Diagnostic Center in Austintown, and Laboratory Manager for the Microbiology at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Roseann also was a limited service faculty member at Youngstown State University in the Health Professions, where she taught microbiology and other health care courses.
She attended St. Charles Elementary School, and was a 1978 honors graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society and received many awards in Biology, Mathematics, Psychology, English and Chemistry II. Roseann then went on and graduated with her Bachelors Degree of Science in Medical Technology in 1980 and received her Masters Degree in Chemistry in 1987, both from Youngstown State University.
Roseann held certifications as a registered Medical Technologist and a specialty in Microbiology, both from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
Roseann was a very active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, where she was an extraordinary Minister, participated in Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration, belonged to the Mothers of Crucifix Society and was past secretary, the St. Monica guild and was past treasurer, past CCD Teacher, helped with coffee and donuts, the spaghetti dinners, past member of Parish Council, was on the committee for New Members, and was a chairperson for the annual festival with the bar tickets.
Roseann loved competing in ballroom dancing and traveling, especially going to Canada and to Chautauga with her close friend, Sandy Ross and family. She enjoyed cooking, reading, working in the yard, all types of crafts, and cross stitching, which she has many of them on her walls at home.
She leaves behind to hold onto her precious memories, her mother, Norma Fiore Baca; a brother, Michael Baca; aunt, Rose Marie Fiore, all with whom she made her home; her aunts and uncles, Tony (Verna) Fiore of Hubbard and Betty Baca and Andrew Onder, both of Warren; and numerous cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.
Friends may call on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. in Boardman.
Entombment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown

Adam Kenneth Bequeath, 86
McDONALD Services will be held at noon on Monday at the Pleasant Valley Evangelical Church in Niles for Adam Kenneth Bequeath, 86, who passed away Thursday at Forum Health Northside Medical Center's emergency room.
Adam was born Nov. 23, 1922 in McDonald, the son of Harry and Rachel (Richards) Bequeath and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a graduate of Mineral Ridge High School and retired from Republic Steel as a rigger foreman after 35 years of service.
Adam was a member of the church and enjoyed farming and wood working.
Adam leaves his wife, the former Loretta Powell, whom he married April 16,1966. He also leaves four children, Cynthia (Gary) Seifert of Liberty, Sheri Powell of Columbus, Richard Powell of Girard and Robert (Connie) Powell of Tallmadge; four grandchildren, Jason (Lynn) Seifert of Cleveland, Kristin (Robb) Watson of Columbus, Stephanie and Bobby Powell, both of Tallmadge; two great-grandchildren, Grace and Cameron Seifert of Cleveland, as well as two sisters; Charlotte Daniels of Champion and Eunice (Phil) Richley of Youngstown; and several nieces and nephews which he enjoyed.
Besides his parents, Adam was preceded in death by four brothers, Garfield, Homer, Russell and Ellis Bequeath.
Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of services on Monday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hernan Family in care of the Pleasant Valley Church in Adams name.

Robert E. Fenton, 84
DIAMOND Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Robert E. Fenton, 84, who died Tuesday at his residence.
Bob was born Aug. 19, 1924 in Berlin Center, the son of Eugene and Pauline (Barringer) Fenton and was a lifelong area resident.
Bob retired from General Motors, where he had been employed as a machinist in tool and die for many years. He was a member of the Berlin Center United Methodist Church, and a life member of American Legion Post 737 of Lake Milton, where he had served as Commander. He was also a member of CBI until the organization ceased to exist, and the Mahoning County Farm Bureau. Bob was very active in Milton Township, where he had been a Township Constable before becoming a Deputy. He served several terms as township trustee and received an award in Washington, D.C., for his recycling program for the township. Bob also served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army and was a graduate of Jackson Milton High School.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lola (Mountain) Fenton, whom he married Oct. 4, 1946, and children, Charles (Betty) Fenton, Richard Fenton, Carol (Ron) Clark and Judy (Bill) Hammond, all of Lake Milton. Bob is also survived by grandchildren, Christine Ballentine, Bob Fox, Lea Ellis, Jayne Fenton, Carly Hammond and Chad Hammond; great-grandchildren, Brendal and Nash Ballentine and Brandi and Kaitlyn Varner; and his sister, Viola Holub of Las Vegas.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Stanley and Delmar and sisters, Ruth Wedding and Thelma Byrnes.

Mary Gnip, 79
YOUNGSTOWN Mary Gnip, 79, passed away early Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 5, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown after suffering a sudden heart attack.
Mary was born July 25, 1930 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Wasil and Paraska Sawczuk Soroka, and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a 1948 graduate of East High School, was a homemaker, and worked as a clerk for Revco Drugs for 15 years, retiring in 1992 from the Boardman store.
Mrs. Gnip was proud of her Ukrainian heritage and was a member of Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Byzantine Church in Youngstown. She was a pyrohy worker, a member of the churchs St. Anne Guild, the Senior Sodality, and was a volunteer for many church projects.
Mary leaves her husband of 51 years, John Gnip, whom she married Nov. 10, 1957; five daughters, Karen (Jeff) Fullerman of Twinsburg, Joyce Gnip of Youngstown, Janice Gnip of Youngstown, Susan (Ron) Strom of Boardman and Patricia (Bill) Thompson of Boardman; six grandchildren, Greg (Aliesha) Fullerman, Stephanie Strom, Lindsay and Lauren Fullerman, Stephen Strom and Matthew Thompson; and two brothers, John Soroka of Poland and Steve Soroka of Vienna.
Mary enjoyed her family immensely, and adored her grandchildren, who were the love of her life. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Two brothers, Peter and Theodore Soroka are deceased.
Family and friends may call from noon to 2 p.m., today, Aug. 8, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road in Youngstown, where funeral services will take place at 2 p.m.
Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.

Clara Ann (Pontuti) Horvath, 85
YOUNGSTOWN Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church for Clara Ann (Pontuti) Horvath, 85, formerly of Calvin Street.
Clara was born Nov. 20, 1923, a daughter of Attillio and Severina Nico Pontuti.
She was a member of the church, a graduate of the Rayen School, a homemaker, and worked for the Board of Elections for 20 years as a presiding Judge for the 3rd Ward.
She is survived by a daughter, Andrea Sabino of Canton; a son, Lawrence (Christine) Horvath of Youngstown; four grandchildren, James Sabino of Columbus, David Sabino of Canton, Samuel Horvath of Youngstown and Jill Sabino Savchenko of Canton; and three great-grandchildren, Vanson Savchenko, Jacob Sabino and Anthony Sabino.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Andrew A. Horvath, whom she married Oct. 10, 1942, and he died Jan. 22, 2008; and four brothers, Arthur Pontuti, Rocco Pontuti, Anthony Pontuti and Bernard Pontuti.
Family and friends may call Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at the Schiavone Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Regina Frances Levine, 86
YOUNGSTOWN Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, at the Rodef Sholom Cemetery Chapel at Tod Cemetery for Regina Frances Levine, 86, who was affectionately known as Frances. She passed away peacefully Thursday morning, Aug. 6, at Hospice of the Valleys Hospice House after a brief illness.
She was born Nov. 20, 1922, to Samuel and Ruth Mohilewsky-Stolmack in Ashtabula.
She graduated from The Rayen School and then married the love of her life, Abraham Levine. They made their home in Youngstown, where they raised their two sons.
She worked all of her life for the railroad, starting at the Pennsylvania Railroad when she was 17, and ending at Con-Rail, 44 years later in 1983.
She and Abe shared well over 50 years of the happiest marriage when he passed away in 2006.
Frances enjoyed boating with her family, bowling and bingo with friends, and meeting with her lunch bunch ladies. Even though she worked full time, she found time to be involved with the Sisterhood Rodef Shalom to crochet and paint, and to be a devoted grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Ruth and a sister, Rose and her husband, Abraham. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory two sons, Samford Levine and Howard Levine (Beth); two brothers, William Stolmack (Molly) and David Stolmack (Harriet); a sister, Joann Schwartz (Robert); seven grandchildren, Joseph (Clarissa), Rachel, Christopher, Brandon, Cheyanne, Kyle and Chelsea; two great-grandchildren, Aaron and Eli; and a host of cousins and friends.
She will be remembered most as a kind, loving, and generous person and will be greatly missed by all who came to know her.
Leo Francis Uncle Nif McTigue, 80
BOARDMAN Prayers will begin Monday morning at 9:15 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Edwards Church in Youngstown for Leo Francis Uncle Nif McTigue, 80 who died Thursday afternoon at Greenbriar Care Center.
Leo was born Feb. 27, 1929, in Youngstown, the son of John and Mary Billock McTigue.
After graduating from Ursuline High School, he had served in the Army during the Korean War, and later earned his bachelors degree from Youngstown State University. Leo had worked for the State of Ohio as a supervisor for the Bureau of vocational rehabilitation of the blind for over 27 years, retiring in 1989. He had been a member of St. Edwards Church, the Croatian Home and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his daughter, Ethel M. (Frank J.) Talbot of Allison Park, Pa.; two brothers, Edward (Ann) McTigue of Sharon, Pa. and Joseph (Carol) McTigue of Poland; and two grandsons, Frankie and Patrick Talbot.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Miskell Campbell and John and Donald McTigue.
