Goldie E. Andino, 85
WARREN Funeral services will be Wednesday at 9:45 a.m. at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Church at 10:30 a.m. for Goldie Andino, 85, who passed away Saturday morning.
She was born Nov. 21,1923, the daughter of the late David and Elizabeth (Rubenic) Vrancich.
Goldie was a graduate of Wilson High School and had a Nursing diploma from Youngstown Hospital Association.
She was a Surgical Registered Nurse in the operating room for Youngstown Hospital Association, currently Forum Health, retiring in 1989.
Goldie was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Croatian Catholic Church, a member of the Daughters Club at church, Catholic Nurses Association & Retired Nurses of Youngstown Hospital Association, and the ACC Club in Youngstown.
She is survived by her three daughters, Judith (Joe) Pecorelli of Warren, Elizabeth (David) Ghioldi of Boardman and Diane (Randy) Paliga of Lynchburg, Va.; three sisters, Madeline (James) Allison of California, Elizabeth (Rocco) Secre of Cleveland and Theresa DeMarinis of Florida; and five grandchildren, Joseph Pecorelli, Matthew (Roslyn) Pecorelli, David Ghioldi, Michael Paliga and Rachel Paliga.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dominic Andino, whom she married July 28,1951, who passed away June 12,1984; four brothers, Michael, David, William and Matthew Vrancich; and two sisters, Mary Ann Vrancich and Jennie Delanzo.

James Jacoby, 57
GIRARD James Jacoby, 57, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
James was born on Feb. 20, 1952 in Youngstown, the son of Richard G. and Doris E. Call Jacoby.
Jim worked for GBS Computers in Youngstown as a computer and printer technician. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Girard, the Fish and Game in Vienna, IFH Club in Girard, National Rifle Association and the Amateur Radio.
Besides his father of Girard, he is survived by his wife, the former Marlene Ser, whom he married June 25, 1994; his mother-in-law, Margy Ser of Farrell, Pa.; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Joseph Ser.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 11 a.m. at the Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.
Interment will follow at Girard City Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family requests that any material contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or the church memorial fund.
Aurel J. Kozma, 88
YOUNGSTOWN Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Thompson Funeral Home for Aurel J. Kozma, 88, who died early Saturday morning at Forum Health Northside Medical Center.
Mr. Kozma was born Sept. 27, 1920 in Youngstown, the son of the late Joseph and Bertha Daniels Kozma.
He was employed for 27 years at Sealtest Dairy and for 12 years at SKF Industries.
A 1939 graduate of East High School, Aurel was also a World War II veteran, serving in the Pacific Theatre as a Sergeant with the 20th Army Air Corps. He was one of Jehovah's Witnesses for 56 years with the Youngstown South Unit Congregation and served in several capacities for the congregation.
He is survived by his wife, the former Jeanne Dellinger, whom he married Jan. 8, 1944; a son, Paul (Barbara) Kozma of Fombell, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Thompson Funeral Home, 4221 Market St. in Youngstown.
Mary F. Lund, 71
YOUNGSTOWN Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Mary F. Lund, 71, who died early Saturday morning at Mahoning Valley Hospital in Boardman.
She was born Aug. 29, 1937 in Fairmont, W.Va., a daughter of Robert and Ethel (Keener) Willis, and she came to this area as a child.
She spent her adult life as a homemaker raising and caring for her family.
She enjoyed taking trips to Mountaineer and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Mary was a kind and loving lady and she will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She married Robert L. Lund Oct. 13, 1956, and he preceded her in death Nov. 19, 1993.
She is survived by four children, Jeffrey Lund of Youngstown, Leeanne (Donald) Wade of Youngstown, Jeannine (Daniel) Lute of Struthers and Mark (Diane) Lund of Lordstown. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Patricia McCammon of Columbus; and a stepsister, Helen (Art) Keener of Golden Valley, Ariz.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Lloyd Pardee; a son, Rance Lund; a brother, Robert Willis; and a stepsister, Janet Prologo.

Kenneth R. Orr, 74
BOARDMAN There are no services or calling hours for Kenneth R. Orr, 74, who passed away Saturday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center..
Kenneth was born Oct. 13, 1934 in Washington, Mo., a son of the late Robert and Katherine (Martin) Orr, and came to Canfield in 1966.
He worked in supervision at General Motors from 1966 until his retirement in 1981, was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed fishing, boating, and collecting old western guns.
Upon his death, Kenneth was an organ and tissue donor.
He is survived by his wife, the former Jacqueline Cummings, whom he married Oct. 11, 1952; four children, Debra Northcott of Boardman, Vicki Keck of Boardman, Douglas (Franca) Orr of Boardman and Richard (Sherry) Orr of Austintown; one sister, Darlene Kopsicker of Villa Ridge, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Jason, William, Doug Jr., Danielle, Zackary, Nicholas and Abigail; and six great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by a daughter, Stacy Orr and two brothers, Don and Raymond Orr.

Patsy Pollifrone, 77
BOARDMAN There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Aug. 19, 2009 at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Church in Boardman with the Rev. Philip Rogers officiating for Patsy Pollifrone, 77, who passed away on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 15, 2009, with his loving family by his side after an extended illness.
Patsy will always be remembered and loved by his family and friends.
He was born Oct. 5, 1931 in Youngstown, the son of James and Margaret (Malie) Pollifrone and was a lifelong area resident.
Patsy was a 1950 graduate of The Rayen School, received his bachelors degree in Biology from Youngstown College, where he played football and then received his masters degree from Kent State University.
He was a lifetime educator in the area, where he began his teaching career at Cardinal Mooney High School and was inaugural football coach, and then taught at Canfield High School, The Rayen School, Ursuline High School, Kent State University and finished his career at Lordstown High School while also being the Athletic Director and the president of the Teachers Union. He coached at the other high schools football, track and cross country.
Patsy was a member of St. Charles Church, the Penguins Club, and the Ohio Federation of Teachers.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, where he obtained the rank of 1st Lieutenant.
Patsy loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, and would drive anywhere to watch their sporting events. He also enjoyed watching Sunday football and rooting on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He leaves behind to hold onto his precious memories, his beloved wife of over 53 years, the former Mary Bellino, whom he married on Sept. 24, 1955; five children, Dr. James (Pamela) Pollifrone of Arlington, Texas, Patrick (Nita) Pollifrone of Salem, Va., Dr. David (Lynne) Pollifrone of Fort Wayne, Ind., Linda (Scott) Knox of Boardman and Michael (Tracey) Pollifrone of Howland; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Jennie Greco of Orange, Calif. and Victoria Billett of Florida.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John Pollifrone and a sister, Tillie Cizmar.
Friends may call on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. in Boardman, and again on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, from 10 to 10:50 a.m. at St. Charles Church, Boardman.
Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Trumbull County American Legion.

Patricia A. Zimmer, 71
WARREN Patricia A. Zimmer, 71, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, at University Hospitals of Cleveland.
She was born April 30, 1938 in Warren, the daughter of the late Amos Charles Thomas and the late Elma McDonald Thomas
Patricia was a member of St. William Church, the Ladies Guild, and volunteered at their festivals, catering and fish dinners, and Diapers to Dates, a CCL organization. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, Charles Zimmer, whom she married May 9, 1959, Patricia is survived by her daughters, Shelly (Scott) Hamler of Newton Falls, Kathleen (Frank) Shockey of Newton Falls and Suzanne Propst of Niles; son, Gregory Zimmer of Champion; grandchildren, Jason Propst, Kyle Hamler, Jessica Shelko, Bethany Shockey, Olivia Hamler, Nicholas Shockey and Alexandria Propst; one unborn great-granddaughter; and brother, Amos Charles (Joan) Thomas of Cortland.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009, at St. Williams Catholic Church, where friends may call one hour prior to the services.
Calling hours will also be held at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, 2009. Fr. Michael Smar will officiate.
