Tiffany Nichole Clark, 24

OLMSTED FALLS – Services will be Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home for Ms. Tiffany Nichole Clark, 24, who entered her sunset on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009.

Tiffany was born Sept. 18, 1984 in Youngstown, a daughter of Robert L. and Cynthia Cashwell Clark.

She was a 2002 graduate of The Rayen School. Tiffany was also a proud 2004 graduate of ITT Technical Institute. She held a degree in Web Development and was currently employed at Hyland Software as a Quality Assurance Lead. Computers were her passion.

She enjoyed playing and watching baseball. Tiffany played T-ball in her early childhood years, continued playing softball through high school, and also played coed softball while living in Cleveland.

Tiffany is survived by her father, Robert L. Clark of Youngstown; her grandmother, Georgianna Fultz of Youngstown; two sisters, Victoria L. Cashwell of Fayetteville, N.C. and Natasha Clark of Boardman; three brothers, Antwan Grissett, Robert L. Clark Jr. and Steven Clark, all of Youngstown; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Tiffany was preceded in death by her mother, Cynthia A. Cashwell-Clark; her brother, Robert E. Clark; grandmother, Annie Mae Clark; grandfathers, R.B. Clark and E.L. Fletcher.

Friends may call Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Dorothy J. Damore, 96

YOUNGSTOWN – Dorothy J. Damore, 96, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, Aug. 19, 2009, at Hospice House in Poland, with her family at her side.

Dorothy was born May 2, 1913 in Boiano, Italy, a daughter of the late Michele and Anna Marie Jannetto Mignella. She immigrated to America in 1920 at the age of seven with her family, settling in Struthers, and lived most of her life in Youngstown.

Dorothy was a graduate of Struthers High School, and was a member of the National Honor Society. She became a homemaker and dedicated her life to raising, educating, and caring for her family.

Mrs. Damore was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ in Austintown, was a Sunday school teacher and a member and teacher of the Ladies Circle. She enjoyed reading the Bible, and prided herself on learning about the Bible and about her church.

Dorothy’s husband, Joseph C. Damore, whom she married Nov. 23, 1931, passed away Aug. 18, 1986.

She leaves two daughters, Rita (Robert) Fusco and Ruth (William) Zemko, both of Youngstown; a son, Joseph M. (Carol) Damore of Youngstown; eight grandchildren, Bob (Lori) Fusco, Tom (Andrea) Fusco, Kim (Mark) Wadman, Bill (fiancé Cassie) Fusco, Karen (Terry) Ray, Christine (Bob) Gerst, Joe (Lisa) Damore and Angela Damore; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Bridget “Annie” Fortunato of Struthers; and a sister-in-law, Sarah Mignella of Niles.

Dorothy will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Besides her husband, a daughter, June T. Loewenthal; a grandson, William D. Zemko Jr.; a brother, Tony Mignella; and a sister, Mary Walts, are deceased.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Aug., 21, and from 9:30 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road in Youngstown.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown.

Chester J. Dlwgosh Sr., 51

McDONALD – Chester J. Dlwgosh Sr., 51, passed away early Thursday morning, Aug. 20, 2009, at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Chester was born Nov. 2, 1957 in Youngstown, a son of the late Emil P. and Veronica M. Sefcik Dlwgosh, and was a lifelong area resident.

He was a 1975 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and subsequently worked for GF Business Systems from 1975 until 1980. For the past 27 years, Chester has been employed at the Kmart Distribution Center.

Chester was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, fishing, marksmanship and riding his motorcycle. He was also a stagehand at Powers Auditorium and Stambaugh Auditorium for 35 years, assisting with many area productions.

Mr. Dlwgosh leaves his beloved wife and high school sweetheart, Marie A. Short Dlwgosh, whom he married May 6, 1978; three children, Jennifer (Sam) Hinerman of Cincinnati, Angela (Andrew) Bell of Gettysburg and Chester J. Dlwgosh Jr. of McDonald; a granddaughter, Kalina Bell; two sisters, Deidre E. Vanish of Youngstown and Kathleen A. (Albert) Guesman of Columbiana; and a brother, Keith E. (Karen) Dlwgosh of Youngstown.

Chester will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 21, 2009, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road in Youngstown.

Funeral services will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Diana Leslie, 88

TARPON SPRINGS, FLA. – Diana Leslie, 88, died of cancer on Aug. 19, 2009 under the care of Hospice.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Leslie.

Formerly of Youngstown, she is survived by daughters, Lin Leslie of Reistertown, Md. and Judith Isaly of Palm Harbor, Fla.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren

Words of comfort may be expressed on Aug. 22, 2009 between the hours of 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Allegro Senior Living in Tarpon Springs.

Ruby L. Charity Njoroge, 75

COLUMBUS – Ruby L. Charity Njoroge, 75, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, at the Zusman House in Columbus.

She was a 1953 graduate of East High School in Youngstown.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; and one sister.

She is survived by her husband, professor Nganga Njoroge; her children, Cynthia D. Bartley, Craig L. (Karla) Palm, Njoroge Nganga and Wambui Nganga; and her grandchildren, Brittany Bartley, Craig Palm II, Chelsea Bartley and Kara Palm; four brothers; and five sisters-in-law. 

Funeral services are on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Evans Funeral Home, 4171 E. Livingston Ave. in Columbus, where friends may call one hour prior to the service, with the Rev. Karen Terada officiating.

Alonzo H. Potts Sr., 78

BOARDMAN – Services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Monday at the Fox Funeral Home for Alonzo H. Potts Sr., 78, who passed away Wednesday morning at Beeghly Oaks Nursing Home.

Mr. Potts was born March 9, 1931 in Youngstown, the son of Clarence and Lillian Chaney Potts.

He was a 1948 graduate of South High School.

He was a plumber with Local No. 87, now known as Local No. 396. He was president and owner of Suburban Plumbing from 1965 to1984 and then with Scholl-Choffin as an estimator.

Alonzo was a member of Plumbers & Pipefitters 396. He enjoyed going to football games, especially Ohio State University, Pittsburgh Steelers and Boardman High School.

He was a veteran of the Navy, serving as a Chief Petty Officer First Class, from 1948 to 1954.

Besides his wife, the former Betty Ann Dixon, whom he married July 18, 1981, he leaves five sons, Todd (Wendy) Potts of Boardman, Alonzo (Colleen) Potts of New Springfield, James (Susan) Potts of Palm Harbor, Fla., William (Abby) Potts of Winter Springs, Fla. and Robert Potts of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Cissy (Kevin) Coleman of Apopka, Fla. and Geraldine Congemi of Youngstown; three sisters, Betty Arkwright of Tampa, Fla., June Cimmento of Austintown and Carol Rollins of Eugene, Ore.; nine grandchildren, Jeffrey Potts and Brenna Potts of Winter Springs, Lauren Potts, Gavin Potts, Catilin Potts and Alonzo Potts III, all of Boardman, Karrie (Jason) Mumaw of Poland, Melodie (Wayne) Charimonte of Boardman and Shannon Congemi of Youngstown; and two sisters-in-law, Edna Getsy of Youngstown and Ginger Laird of Boardman.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, George Potts and Clarence Potts; and five sisters, Edith Moyer, Margaret Smith, Lillian Sullivan, Dolly Blattman and Florence Reble.

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Domenico Ricchiuti, 92

“Together Again”

CAMPBELL – Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Wasko Funeral Home and at 9 a.m. at St. Lucy Catholic Church for Domenico Ricchiuti, 92, who passed away Wednesday afternoon surrounded by his family.

Domenico was born April 9, 1917 in Carovilli, Italy, the son of Angelo and Maria Parisi Ricchiuti.

He was a Prisoner Of War while serving under the Italian Military during World War II. After moving to the United States, he became a citizen and was employed by the Calex Corporation as a nightwatchmen, retiring in 1983.

He was a member of the church. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, gardening, playing bocce, checkers, magic and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

His wife of 55 years, Giovannina Ricchiuti, whom he married on Feb. 2, 1936, passed away on Sept. 1, 1991.

His memory will be cherished by his son, Angelo and his wife, Elvira (Falasca) Ricchiuti, with whom he made his home; three grandchildren, Anthony Ricchiuti of Campbell, Patrizia Ricchiuti of Willoughby Hills and Cinzia Ricchiuti of New Waterford; two great-grandchildren, Anthony Steven Ricchiuti of Boardman and Gianni Paul Bezusko of Willoughby Hills.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two infant daughters; and a grandson, Steve Ricchiuti.

The Ricchiuti family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends today, from 6 to 8 p.m. with a 5:45 p.m. prayer service.

George Williams, 84

HUBBARD – There will be services at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, at Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home for George Williams, 84, who passed away Thursday, Aug. 20, at home.

George was born Nov. 17, 1924 in Hubbard, a son of George H. and Clara Hagerman Williams and was a lifelong Hubbard resident. He spent many winters in Polk City, Fla.

He was a self-employed carpenter/contractor for 37 years and was a member of the Central Christian Church. He also was a member of the Hubbard Volunteer Fire Department.

He enjoyed auctions and going to area flea markets.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II.

His wife, the former Juanita LaVerne Fair, whom he married June 5, 1948 passed away March 2, 1998.

He leaves his children, James A. (Reanee) Williams of Champion and Linda G. (James) Ashton of Raleigh, N.C.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; brothers, Lowell Williams, and Harold Williams.

There will be calling hours Saturday, Aug. 22, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512.
