Warren D. Adair Sr., 90
LARGO, FLA. Warren D. Adair Sr., 90, a native of Youngstown, died Friday Aug. 21, after a short illness from cancer under the care of hospice.
Warren was born Aug. 5, 1919 in Danville, Ill., a son of Russell and Stella Adair.
Warren graduated from South High School and attended Youngstown College.
He was in the U.S. Army Air Force, where he served as a medic overseas for more than 3 1/2 years in World War II. He was a mechanical engineer for McCay Machine Co., which later became Wean United, retiring in 1981, after more than 35 years of service.
Warrens wife, June C. Adair, whom he married in 1945, passed away in 2007. He was also preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Clarence, Norman and Marvin.
Warren is survived by three sons, Warren D. Jr. (Frances) of Austintown, Thomas F. (Judy) of Oklahoma and Timothy M. (Karen) of Florida; a daughter, Maureen F. Burke of Canfield; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a memorial service at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 28, at Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Ernest Anderson Sr., 87
LITHONIA, GA. Services will be on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the L.E. Black, Phillips and Holden Funeral Home for Mr. Ernest Ike Anderson Sr., formerly of Youngstown, who entered into eternal rest Aug. 18, in Atlanta.
Mr. Anderson was born July 22, 1922 in Abbeville, S.C., a son of Florence Anderson.
He had been employed by Republic Steel and was an U.S. Army veteran. He had been a former member of the Holy Trinity Missionary Baptist Church and had also attended the Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church, here in Youngstown, prior to relocating to Conyers, Ga.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Brenda Anderson of Lithonia, with whom he made his home; a sister, Pearl Gibson of Youngstown; a granddaughter, Tanya T. Anderson; a grandson, Harold A. McCrae; a great-grandson, Jordan McCrae. all of Lithonia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Rev. Fred D, and Florence Dillard; his wife, the former Rosetta Stanley, who passed away June 9, 2008; his son, Ernest Junebug Jr.; and his brother, Leroy Ludt Anderson.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
John Andrei, 67
CANFIELD Funeral services will be on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at 10 a.m. at the Holy Resurrection Romanian Orthodox Church in Warren with Fr. James Bartlett officiating for John Andrei, 67, who passed away Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, with his family by his side.
John Andrei was born Jan. 14, 1942 in Bucaresti, Romania, the son of Ioan and Elena Boaru Andrei.
He graduated from the University of Bucaresti with a degree in electronics. He came to the United States in the 1960s and settled in Austintown in 1970.
John retired in 2003, after 33 12 years from the GM Lordstown Fabrication Plant, where he was a robot programmer.
He was a member of the Holy Resurrection Romanian Orthodox Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, landscaping, remodeling, and various construction projects, such as building houses and garages.
John was an avid soccer fan, and had played soccer in Romania and the United States.
He is survived by his wife, Rodica Colceriu Andrei; a daughter, Alina Andrei of Los Angeles; a son, Johnny Andrei Jr. of Youngstown; his mother-in-law, Letitia Colceriu of Youngstown; a brother, Vasile (Emilia) Andrei of Tg.-Mures, Romania; two sisters, Maria Marcela Popa and Elena (Ioan) Halbes, all of Tg.-Mures, Romania; nieces and nephews, Marcel, Ovidiu, Adrian, Adela, Cristi and Calin; and cousins, John, Shirley, and David, all of Warren, and Jimmy Painter of San Francisco, Calif.
His parents preceded him in death.
Calling hours will be Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road N.E., Warren, OH 44483, where a Saracusta will take place at 7 p.m. Friends may also call Saturday morning at the church, one half hour prior to services.
Interment will be at Crown Hill Burial Park.
Stephen V. Bacon, 93
POLAND Prayers will begin Saturday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 1 p.m. at the Holy Family Church for Stephen V. Bacon, 93, who died Wednesday morning at the Hospice House.
Stephen was born Jan. 3, 1916 in Youngstown, the son of John Slanina and Mary Maslar Gresh. He made his home in Poland all of his adult life.
Mr. Bacon served as president of Poling and Bacon Inc., which he founded in 1946 and retired in 1980. The company was instrumental on such projects as the first automatic crude oil line, the first pipeline to carry coal, and fueling facilities at airports at Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Palm Beach, Fla., Dallas, Texas, Memphis, Tenn., Detroit, Minneapolis, Minn., Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, Pa. Mr. Bacon also organized a Sister Cities program with Spisska Nova Ves in Slovakia and served as its president since 1991. He was an active fraternalist in the Jednota Branch 731, Sokols No. 107, F.C.S.L.A. Branch 161, the Poland Knights of Columbus, and the Holy Family Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ghislaine; two sons, Vincent (Phyllis) of Canfield and James (Carol) of Austintown; a daughter, Shirley (Bruno) Miletta of Poland; two sisters, Anastasia Estelle Chizmar and Bernadette (Edward) Demechko, both of Youngstown; a cousin, Maria (Ivan) Hrubin; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Biroschack; a son, Stephen; a grandson, Patrick; a daughter-in-law, Geri; two brothers, John and Joseph Slanina; and three sisters, Theresa Amour, Veronica Alvarez and Sister Celine of the Vincention Sisters of Charity.

BERLIN CENTER Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 550 N. Broad St. in Canfield for Ronald J. Barto, 66, who died Wednesday morning at Forum Health Northside Medical Center.
Ron was born April 12, 1943 in Youngstown, the son of the late John Phil and Anna (Fusek) Barto.
He retired from General Motors in Lordstown, where he worked in the Van and Auto Plant and had previously worked for U.S. Steel and enjoyed farming. He was a charter member of the Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Lake Milton American Legion, served in the Army as a Ranger during the Vietnam Era, had been a volunteer for Alzheimer Network and also Camp Frederick.
Ron is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Cool, whom he married Oct. 10, 1975. He also leaves two sons, Steve (Janeen) Barto and Jerry Barto, both of Berlin Center. Ron leaves his twin sister, Loretta (Mike) Kniseley of Livingston, Texas and Karen (Larry) Eastman of Canfield.
Friends may call at the Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday at the church.

Ralph K. Dain Sr., 73
NEW SPRINGFIELD Ralph K. Dain Sr., 73, died at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at his home.
Mr. Dain was born May 1, 1936 in Pittsburgh, a son of John and Mabel Woodcock Dain Sr. and had lived in this area since 1975.
Ralph worked as an electrician for Youngstown Sheet & Tube and Chrysler Corp. in Twinsburg retiring in 2000, and was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Columbiana. He served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam and was honorably discharged after 22 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, the former, Barbara Tims, whom he married Feb. 27, 1960; four daughters, Sandra Hoff and Deborah Ritchey, both of Columbiana, Karin (Tim) Weingart of Hurricane, W.Va. and Kelli (Steve) Nyers of Columbiana; a son, Ralph K. (Tennille) Dain Jr. of Archer, Fla.; a sister, Beverly Milnick of Baden, Pa.; and 14 grandchildren.
Ralph was preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas, John and Joseph Dain.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home in Columbiana with the Reverend Thomas G. Ziegler officiating.
Burial will follow at Columbiana Cemetery, where the Benjamin Firestone Post No. 290, American Legion will accord military honors.

Anna Ann M. Debozy, 80
BOARDMAN Anna Ann M. Debozy, 80, passed away Tuesday evening at Beeghly Oaks in Boardman.
Ann was born Feb. 16, 1929 in Youngstown, a daughter of Milan and Anna Bogovich Lemich.
She lived in the area all of her life and was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Steve, whom she married Jan. 8, 1960 and who died on Jan. 17, 1988.
She is survived by a son, Dennis Debozy of Findlay and a daughter, Debra Debozy of Boardman. She also leaves three precious grandsons, Dino, Dustin and Dylan Cenneno, whom she always praised in years past for taking turns caring for her yard.
Ann enjoyed going to flea markets, dining in restaurants and taking pictures.
At her request, there are no services and cremation is to take place.

Rita Fox, 78
YOUNGSTOWN Services will be held at 11 a.m. today in the Agrenovitz Chapel at El Emeth Coitsville Cemetery for Rita Fox, 78, who passed away Tuesday at Heritage Manor.
Mrs. Fox was born in Youngstown on Sept. 26, 1930.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Gus Cohen; her husband, Leon Fox; her daughter, Sherry Helaine Fox; and her brothers, Art Cohen and Jerry Cohen.
She is survived by her son, Les Fox and his wife, Cindy; and grand-daughters, Lauren Fox and Lindsey Fox, all of Houston. She is also survived by her sister, Sandra Rosenberg and her husband, Mendel of St. Louis; her sisters-in-law, Jean Cohen and Grace Cohen, both of Youngstown; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Rita graduated from South High School in Youngstown in 1948. She worked as a bookkeeper at Storm Sash and a number of other manufacturing companies. She married Leon Fox in 1955. For several years, she was a full time Mom, active in various organizations, including Temple El Emeth Sisterhood. She particularly enjoyed her weekly canasta games and her bowling league. She reentered the work force in the late 1960s, working as office manager at Mahoning Sparkle Markets Inc. until 1981.
Rita was an enthusiastic volunteer at Heritage Manor and Temple El Emeth for many years. Due to her chronic illness, she was unable to commit as much time and energy to her volunteer efforts as she would have liked. Suffering through a series of health issues since 1981, Rita confounded the experts time after time, with her inner strength and will to live.
When her granddaughters were born in 1986, Rita found her greatest joy in being a grandmother, visiting them in Houston regularly and traveling with her girls to various places and family functions.
The family wishes to express its sincere appreciation for the care provided to Rita over the last several years by the staff at Levy Gardens and Heritage Manor. Special thanks to the nurses of Unit 2 at Heritage Manor.

Dominic (Byrd) Giampetro, 95
YOUNGSTOWN Dominic (Byrd) Giampetro, 95, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, in Youngstown.
He was born April 1, 1914 in Manhattan, N.Y., the son of the late Joseph Giampietro and the late Maria (Spagna) Giampietro.
His family includes his sister, Rose Matasic. He will be lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews who cared for him, Carla and Jim Catheline and Chris and Mike Cunningham. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; his brothers, Charles, John, Thomas, Vincent and Joseph; and his sisters, Ann Frankino and Donna Provenzale.
He first worked at Republic Steel and then worked as an assistant recorder in the county recorders office. He was an avid sportsmen, he held titles as ARCO Club Billiards Champ, ARCO Club Bocce Champ, Curbstone Coaches Man of the Year in 1973, and Mahoning County Softball League Champs.
He loved bowling, golfing and most of all cheering on his beloved New York Yankees. He was a member of Youngstown State University Penguin Club and was involved in numerous YSU organizations. He was a proud penguin fan.
He was an entertainment promoter with LCGY Productions, bringing big name entertainers to Youngstown. He belonged to the Vestibule Club and Curbstone Coaches and he was also the Youngstown Boxing Commissioner. His deep faith and love of God, love for his family and devotion to supporting a variety of charities was his true legacies.

BROADVIEW HEIGHTS Livio L. Giudici, 80, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2009.
He was the beloved husband of Shirley Fell Giudici (Glover) and the late Shirley Giudici (Acks); devoted father of Roger Giudici (Susan), Ronald Giudici (Wendy), Susan Rutherford (Edward) and Nancy Robinson (James); stepfather of Deborah Stollings (Mark), Cheryl Yaros and Lawrence Fell (Sharon); loving grandfather of Douglas, Russell, Nicholas, Michelle, Samantha, Kimberley, Gerald, Krystal, James and Cristina; and step grandfather of April, Julie and Jacob.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.

Together Again
NORTH LIMA Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Wasko Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church for Theresa M. Kraynack, 76, formerly of Campbell, who passed away Tuesday evening at the Assumption Village Nursing Home.
Theresa was born May 11, 1933 in Campbell, the daughter of Martin and Mary Heldt Yablonsky and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a 1951 graduate of Ursuline High School.
Theresa worked for Dr. Oles in Campbell as a Dental Hygienist and was the official Popcorn Lady at Hills Department Store in the Lincoln Knolls Plaza for over 20 years. She enjoyed crocheting and making and sharing with her family and friends her famous Halupki.
She was a member of the church, its Ladies Guild, Altar and Rosary Society and the Infant Jesus of Praque Guild. She was also a member of the Married Peoples Club of the church.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Susan (Michael) Schudel of Columbus, Ann Marie (Joseph) Bernard of Stow, Andrew John AJ (Patti) Kraynack of Stow, Terry Simon of Poland and Karen (David) D'Apolito of Canfield; 11 grandchildren, Sarah, Ralph, Eric (Jen), Christine (Joe), Lauren, Nathan, Dana, Casey, Samantha, Alli and Gianna; five great-grandchildren, Dominic, Anthony, Lucia, Stella and Roma; a brother, Fr. Gabriel Yablonsky of North Lima; two sisters, Helen Blasko of Poland and Dr. Jude Yablonsky of Hawaii; and a sister-in-law, Sophie Yablonsky of Parma.
She was preceded in by her parents; her husband, Andrew Kraynack, whom she married Aug. 22, 1953, and passed away on July 15, 2001; three brothers Fr. John Cyril, Martin and Frank Yablonsky; two infant brothers, Joe and Paul; and two infant sisters, Mary and Ann Yablonsky.
The family would like to thank the staff and her extended family at The Assumption Village in North Lima for the excellent care that they gave to Theresa.

Elmer John McMullen, 87
WALKER, W.VA. Elmer John McMullen, 87, died Aug. 24, 2009 at his residence.
He was born in Parkersburg, W.Va. on Jan. 23, 1922, a son of the late Sherman McMullen and Mettie (Allen) McMullen.
He was a heavy equipment operator and engineer with Union Local No. 1, and had retired with 50 years of service. He also was a U.S. Army veteran, who served his country faithfully in World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Louise (Perkins) McMullen of Walker; daughter, Linda Herman and husband, Larry of Canfield; three grandchildren, Lisa Headley and husband Joe, Jodi Danes and husband Jeff and Brent Herman; four great-grandchildren, Autumn, Noah, Brianna and Lily; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bud McMullen; two sisters, Maxine Sis Toothman and Gladys McMullen Reed and infant Patrick McMullen.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg, with the Reverend L. Norman Butler officiating. Interment will follow at McMullen Cemetery.

Norman was born June 30, 1965 in Youngstown, the son of Calixto and Carmen Rios.
He was employed at Iron Metal and A.J. Ross. Norman was a hard worker and dedicated to his job and family. He especially loved cookouts. Norman will always be remembered and loved for his kind heart and angelic smile.
He will be sadly missed by his son, Brandon Ortiz; his three stepchildren that he raised, Jessica Byrd, Natasha Byrd and Michael Byrd; his siblings, Rosemary Delgado of Youngstown, Maria J. Rios of Campbell, Calixto Rios Jr. of North Carolina, Haydde C. Rios of Cleveland, Edwin Rodriguez of Youngstown, Medeli Rodriguez of Youngstown and Hector Pagan, who was raised with him; many nieces and nephews; and his co-workers and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Noel Rios; a sister, Carmen Santiago; and his stepfather, Pasquale Rodriguez, who raised him.

Darell L. Buck Roberts, 69
YOUNGSTOWN Darell L. Buck Roberts, 69, formerly of Beaver Falls, Pa., died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
He was born March, 21, 1940 in New Eagle, Pa., the son of Hilda Breakwell Roberts of Patterson Township and the late Clarence J. Clinks Roberts.
He owned and operated his own architectural business, Blackhorse, LTD.
He graduated from Beaver Falls High School in 1958 and Kent State University in 1965, with a degree in Architecture and was a member of the Order of DeMolay, Kappa Delta Rho Fraternity, Penn State and was in the Navy ROTC and Marine Reserves.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Shawn Chapman; and a step grandson, David Chapman.
Surviving in addition to his mother, is a daughter, Daphne B. Curtis of Pittsburgh; two sons, Giovanni G. Roberts and John B. Roberts, both of Youngstown; a sister and brother-in-law, Rebecca R. and George Grau of New Galilee, Pa.; four nieces; a step nephew; step niece; five great-nephews; two step grandchildren; and former wives, Theodora Dorrie Roberts and Janice Bedard.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 10th Street and Eight Avenue in Beaver Falls, with the Reverend David Alleman officiating. Full military honors will be observed.

He was born Aug. 24, 2009 in Youngstown, a son of Mitchell and Sarah Simon Zagorski.
He leaves his parents, Mitchell and Sarah of Hubbard; four brothers, Logan, Hunter, Owen and his twin, Landyn Zagorski all of Hubbard; grandparents, Tom and Karen Zagorski of Hubbard and Duane Simon of Florida; and great-grandparents, Patricia Sauceman of Masury and Ivan Kachelries of Hubbard.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
