Mary E. Fabry, 77
LOWELLVILLE Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 1429 Mahoning Avenue in Youngstown, for Mary E. Fabry, 77, who died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at Hospice House.
She was born Sept. 2, 1931, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Fernley C. and Mildred Jane Smith Popowich.
She was a graduate of Chaney High School and a member of St. John Lutheran Church. At one time, she worked for Campbell Sash, WT Grant store in the Lincoln Knolls Plaza and as an assistant for Dr. Andrew G. Babinec III.
She was very active in the church, where she was the church secretary, financial secretary and property chairman.
She is survived by a daughter, Lynda (Dave) Remias of Girard; sons, Michael (Janet) Fabry III of Lowellville, Thomas Fabry of Poland and Chuck (Rose) Fabry of North Jackson; brothers, Clyde V.W. (Jackie) Popowich of San Antonio and James Popowich of Southwick, Mass.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Fabry, Jr., whom she married Oct. 22, 1949, and who died Sept. 19, 1986.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Kirila Funeral Home Inc., 258 Poland Ave. in Struthers and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time at 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment will be at Jackson Cemetery in Coitsville.

Helen M. Miketa, 81
Together Again
POLAND Helen M. Miketa, 81, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at St. Marys Alzheimers Center in Columbiana.
Helen was born Aug. 30, 1927 in Youngstown, a daughter of Vincenzo and Catherine Mordocco Parrello.
She was a 1945 graduate of Wilson High School. Along with her husband, Helen owned and operated two Golden Dawn Food stores in New Middletown and East Palestine, retiring in 1986. She served as president of the Youngstown Area Grocers Ladies Auxiliary for two years.
An avid lover of the sun, she enjoyed spending winters in Clearwater, Fla., but her greatest joy was cooking and baking for family and friends. Helen was a member of the Holy Family Parish in Poland.
Her husband, Frank W. Miketa, whom she married July 9, 1955, died Oct. 18, 2004.
She is survived by two daughters, Cindy (Tom) Marchese of Poland and Donna (Mark) Morocco of Poland; one son, David (Rhonda) Miketa of New Middletown; one brother, Joseph (Dee) Parrello of Hubbard; one sister, Sarah (Bob) Boyles of North Lima; seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Kristian) Wymer, Jason, Kathryn and Sarah Marchese, Mark and Nicole Morocco and Stan Miketa; two great-grandchildren, Madison and Ellie Wymer; and one brother-in-law, Raymond Miketa of Lakeland, Fla.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary DeSanzo; and two brothers, Ernest and Patsy Parrilla.
Services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Holy Family Church, with the Rev. Msgr. William Connell officiating. Interment will follow at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland, where a prayer service will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.

Ann Moadus, 90
GIRARD Private services were held for Ann Moadus, 90, who died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at Autumn Hills Nursing Home in Niles.
She was born Sept. 7, 1918, in Girard, the daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Dabich) Rebraca.
She was a member of the Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church in Youngstown.
She married Daniel Moadus Sr. on July 25, 1942, and he passed away Sept. 25, 1995.
She is survived by two sons, Daniel (Carole) Moadus Jr. of Girard and Donald (Suellen) Moadus of Brookfield; a sister, Catherine Mikicic of Niles; three grandsons, Elliott (Tami), Matthew (Stephanie) and Wyatt Moadus; and three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Kaitlin and Kara.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son; five brothers, Joe, Pete, John, Matty and Anthony Rebraca; and two sisters, Mary Pozega and Dorothy Miles.
Arrangements were handled by the McClurkin Funeral Home in Girard.
Agnes D. Nalepa, 83
HUBBARD Agnes D. Nalepa, 83, died Sunday, Aug. 30, 2009, at Mahoning Valley Hospital.
She was born March 14, 1926, in Campbell, a daughter of John and Elizabeth Yatsco Macara and was a lifelong area resident.
Mrs. Nalepa was a nurse for Dr. Stechschultes office for 30 years and was previously a nurse at Northside Hospital for 15 years. She was a member of St. Patrick Church in Hubbard, where she was a CCD teacher and a member of the Blanket Bunch.
Agnes graduated from the Northside School of Nursing, was a member of the Cadet Nurses Corps during World War II and was very active in forming the nurses union at Northside Hospital.
She served on the parish council at St. Johns Church in Campbell, was a member of the Womens Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus, was active in the Boy Scouts, and was a member of the Retired Nurses Association and the Catholic Nurses Association.
Her husband, Rudolph W. Nalepa, whom she married April 3, 1948, died March 17, 1993.
She leaves a daughter, Laura (John) Hall of Stafford, Va.; two sons, Randolph (Peggy) Nalepa of Houston and Russell (Kathie) Nalepa of Hubbard; a sister, Dorothy Dickey of North Olmsted; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Richard Nalepa; and three sisters, Ruth Bonace, Grace Dean and Mary Domagalski.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Church.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Grace A. Sheehan, 90
YOUNGSTOWN Grace A. Sheehan passed away Aug. 28, 2009 at Park Vista.
She was born Jan. 26, 1919 in Niles, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Ciminero Ross.
Grace was a member of St. Stephens church in Niles, founder of Live-in-Grace Foundation, started N A M I Chapter of Mahoning Co., involved with Family in Touch and Helping Hands Co-Op, all volunteer organization, where she was an Advocate for the mentally challenge.
Her husband, Robert W. Sheehan, whom she married in 1939, died in 1968.
Grace leaves one daughter, Elizabeth Wilson of Girard; four sons, Robert J. of Dayton, Patrick J. of Vienna, Michael V. of Ashtabula and John L. Sheehan of Wichita, Kan.; one sister, Bea LeCursi of Niles; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Grace was preceded in death by a daughter, Gracie Killius; two grandchildren, Brenda and Chuck; two brothers, Dominic and Nicholas Ross; and two sisters, Yolanda Holt and Antoinette Ross.
Funeral services will be at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, with calling hours from 10 a.m. to noon, two hours prior to the service at McClurkin Funeral Home in Girard, with burial at St. Stephenss Cemetery.
James Alexander Tkach, 66
AUSTINTOWN A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St Joseph Church in Austintown for James Alexander Tkach, 66, who passed away Sunday morning in Hospice House.
James was born Nov. 13, 1942, in Youngstown the son of Frank and Mary (Inchak) Tkach.
Jim received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from YSU. He worked as an engineer with Delphi Packard Electric Systems for 30 years, retiring April 1, 1999. He formerly worked for four years at Dow Chemical in Findlay as a project engineer.
James was a member of the church, a member of the Packard Salary Retirees Organization and a former member of the Western Reserve Wood Carvers Club.
His wife, the former Barbara Williamson, whom he married Sept. 3, 1966, passed away Nov. 19, 2000.
Jim leaves two daughters, Lori (Stephen) Baker and Marla (Kevin) Morton; two grandsons, Connor and Dylan Morton, all of Austintown; and one brother, Frank (Sally) Tkach of Poland.
Beside his wife, Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends and family may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, where closing prayers will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

Larry T. Watson
YOUNGSTOWN Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Rising Star Baptist Church for Larry T. Watson, who entered his eternal rest Aug. 26.
Mr. Watson was born June 30, 1951, in Youngstown, the son of Vivian Watson.
He graduated from East High School in 1971 and was employed for 19 years for Delphi Packard as a HIPS Operator before retiring in 1991.
He was a member of the Rising Star Baptist Church. He loved traveling to Atlantic City and Vegas and was an avid Cleveland Browns and Cavaliers fan.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother of Youngstown; his wife of 36 years whom he loved dearly, the former Carolyn Clark; a daughter, Tia Danielle Watson; two brothers, Ray (Gina) Watson and Vincent (Belinda) Thomas; and a granddaughter, Mia Danielle Cole, whom he affectionately called his little princess, all of Youngstown; an uncle, Amos Watson of Cleveland; an aunt, Clara Axel of Youngstown; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Vicky Lynn Speed.
Friends may call today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the L.E Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home and on Tuesday one hour prior to the services from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
