MARIETTA, GA. Services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 10 a.m. at the Kubina-Yuhasz Funeral Home, 5925 Market St. in Boardman, for Angeline C. Ameduri, 89, formerly of Youngstown, who passed away the afternoon of Sept. 11, 2009.
Angeline was born Aug. 4, 1920, in Girard, a daughter of Joseph and Julia Laurde Perry.
She was a homemaker.
Angeline was preceded in death by her husband, Dominic Ameduri, who died Feb. 9, 2004; her brother, Joseph Perry; and sister Beatrice Sutherland.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Barbara Fargo of Marietta, and her grandson Michael Gaffney, also of Marietta.

Kelly Brent Anderson, 55
EDMOND, OKLA. Kelly Brent Anderson, 55, passed away Sept. 10, 2009 in Edmond.
Kelly was born Sept. 27, 1953 in Youngstown to Howard E. and Irene M. Anderson.
He retired from General Motors as an autoworker and was a member of the UAW (United Auto Workers).
Kelly is survived by his wife, Barbara of the home; two sons, Kelly B. Anderson II of Boulder, Colo. and Kirk B. Anderson and wife Haley of Charlotte, N.C.; one brother, Dale H. Anderson of California; two sisters, Sandra James and Nancy Kuzma and husband Bob of Youngstown; five grandchildren, Lexingtin, Ailissa, Caitlin, Brienna and Owen Anderson; and his mother, Irene M. Anderson of Youngstown.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard E. Anderson; a niece, Amy E. James; and a nephew, Bryan Kuzma.
Services for Kelly will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Matthews Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond.

William Oscar Anderson, 61
CHINO VALLEY, ARIZ. William Oscar Anderson, 61, died Aug. 25, 2009.
He was born Aug. 4, 1948.
He graduated from Austintown Fitch High School in 1966. He served in Vietnam with the U.S. Air Force, where he received a Commendation Medal. He became a 3rd Degree Mason at Argus Lodge before moving to Arizona.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine, whom he married on June 17, 1967; his daughter, Rebecca; his mother, Margaret Davis; and brothers, Clyde (Barbara) Anderson of Columbiana and Kris (Marianne) Anderson of Poland.
He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar S. Anderson; his sister, Diane Chaney; and his daughter, Elizabeth Anderson.
Jack M. Bredel, 73
SUMMERFIELD, FLA. Jack M. Bredel, 73, died Monday, Sept. 7, 2009.
He was born in Pittsburgh, and moved to Summerfield from Akron, in 1999.
He was predeceased by his wife, Bea (Beatrice A. Bredel), whom he met while proudly serving in the U.S. Navy in the late 1950s.
He is survived by his sisters, Joanne Bachter (Bob) of Port Orange, Fla., Dorothy Grosz of Naples, Fla. and Mary Beth Mallory (Jim) of Summerfield.

YOUNGSTOWN Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 17, at 9:30 a.m. at the Kubina-Yuhasz Funeral Home, 5925 Market St. in Boardman and at 10 a.m. at St. Matthias Church in Youngstown for Mary Clark, 87, who passed away early Saturday evening at the Masternick Memorial Health Care Center in New Middletown.
Mary was born in Youngstown May 17, 1922, a daughter of Joseph and Anna Pahut Skokan.
She was employed as a waitress at the Coconut Grove for 20 years, retiring from there in 1975. She then worked as a deputy clerk in the Mahoning County Recorders Office for three more years, leaving that position in 1978.
A member of St. Matthias Church, Mary also belonged to the Infant Jesus of Prague Guild and the Sacred Heart and Rosary Society. In addition, she was a member of First Catholic Slovak Union Branch 731, Slovak Catholic Sokol Branch 54 and First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association Branch 161.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer E. Clark, whom she married Nov. 27, 1981, who died June 27, 2009; by her sister, Margaret Skokan; and by her brothers, Edward, Joseph and Robert Skokan.
She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Amadio of Struthers; her son, Bill (Denise) Schwartz of Boardman; her sisters, Agnes Kalwarcyk, Helen Olbrych and Jean Ferkula, all of Youngstown; her grandchildren, Michael (Nicole) Amadio, Kristin (Todd) Amadio Stovall and Bryan and Brandon Schwartz; her great-grandchildren, Nicolas and Nathan Amadio and Brayden Stovall; and her sister-in-law, Carol Skokan of Youngstown.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m., where a prayer service will be held at 4:45 p.m.
Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery.

AUSTINTOWN Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Lawrence D. Cowen, 83, who passed away Sunday at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Lawrence was born July 24, 1926 in Rosemont, the son of Lawrence and Onita Crum Cowen.
Lawrence was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II. Lawrence was a tester leader in the Metallurgical Department at Jones & Laughlin. He was also employed at the Youngstown Sheet & Tube.
Lawrence was an avid golfer and was a member of the North Jackson Keenagers. He also enjoyed going to the horse tracks.
His wife, the former Olga Shyjka, whom he married in 1947, passed away May 5, 1999.
Lawrence leaves his daughter Nancy (Thomas) Dalton of Lake Milton; a grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents and his wife, Lawrence was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Davis; and a sister, Marion Terry.
The family will be receiving friends Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

YOUNGSTOWN Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Adventist Temple Emauel Seventh Day Adventist Church for James. M. Pimp Davis, 55, who departed this life Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mr. Davis was born Dec. 7, 1953 in Youngstown, a son of Bennie Sr. and Lillian Harris Davis.
He attended the Antioch Baptist Church, was a 1972 graduate of South High School and attended Youngstown State University.
He leaves a daughter, Sekenah Daye of Berrien Springs, Mich.; a sister, Laurie Davis, with whom he made his home; three brothers, Bennie (Debra) Davis Jr. of Coshocton, Anthony Davis of Kent and Alan (Olivia) Jennings of Youngstown; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Crumbley, preceded by a 9:30 a.m. service at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, for Jean P. DeMasi, 82, who passed away Monday afternoon, Sept. 14, 2009, at Hospice of the Valley Hospice House.
Jean P. DeMasi was born April 11, 1927 in Warren, the daughter of Marco and Adelina Mazzocco Iarussi.
She was a beautician, and had graduated from the Lewis, Wineburger and Hill Beauty School. She had also served as caregiver for her sisters and husband. Jean was a member of St. James Church and enjoyed cooking, playing cards, and dancing.
She married Michael A. Mickey DeMasi on June 25, 1976 and he preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 2008.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two grandchildren, Vinnie Varie of Warren and Cerissa (Shawn) Ruddy of Austintown; two great-grandchildren, Sebastian and Madison Ruddy; a sister, Mary Massucci of Warren; a stepdaughter, Michele (Reid) Lamport of Poland; and three stepgrandchildren, Katie (Nick) Glatzer of Boardman, Jessica Lamport of Poland and Reid A. Lamport of Kent.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Varie; a stepson, David DeMasi; a brother, Orlando Iarussi; and a sister, Josephine Phina Sferra.

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP There will be services at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home for Margaret Eckelberger, 85, who passed away Monday morning at Hospice of the Valley Hospice House.
Margaret was born July 31, 1924 in Emlenton, Pa., a daughter of William L. and Cora Belle Altman Boyer.
She was a 1945 graduate of Youngstown Hospital Association School of Nursing.
She was a Registered Nurse for Western Reserve Care System for 37 years serving in many capacities in supervision before retiring in 1986. She was a member of Liberty Senior Citizens and the Retired Nurses Association.
She was a member of the Liberty Presbyterian Church, where she had served as a deacon and an elder, was a former member of its Women's Association and the Mary Circle.
She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Warren Eckelberger, whom she married Oct. 18, 1946, passed away May 25, 1975.
She is survived by her children, Gary A. (Barbara) Eckelberger of Southington, Patricia (Michael) Bundy of Canfield, Karen (Bill) Susany of Girard and Roger (Sandra) Eckelberger of Harrisville, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She also leaves her brother, Ronald Boyer of Segal, Pa.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert Boyer; and her sister, Alice Oyler.

John J. Jack Gillis, 88
LEETONIA John J. Jack Gillis, 88, of 638 Columbia St., died Sunday afternoon at his home.
Mr. Gillis was born Feb. 2, 1921 in East Palestine, a son of the late Angus Patrick and Suzanne Call Gillis and had lived in this area all of his life.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He had been employed in the maintenance department for Sun Oil Company for many years. He had also served as maintenance supervisor for Crestview School District for several years.
Mr. Gillis was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church in Leetonia and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of Joe Williams Post No. 131 American Legion, York Drexler Post No. 5532 of Washingtonville and the Leetonia Italian American Club. He also enjoyed pitching horseshoes and was an avid gardener.
He is survived by his wife, the former Helen Crooks, whom he married Dec. 17, 1945; four daughters, Jeanette (Don) Stecker of Columbiana, Elaine (Vince) Hoover of Lisbon, Anita (Earl) Lancaster of Leetonia and Rosemarie (Don) Warner of Cumming, Ga.; three sons, Thomas (Nancy) Gillis of St. Petersburg, Fla., Christopher (Barbara) Gillis of Lisbon and Joseph Gillis of Leetonia; two sisters, Patricia Davis of East Palestine and Suzanne Hause of Lisbon; two brothers, Raymond (Barbara) Gillis of Houston and Peter Gillis of Citrus Heights, Calif.; eight grandchildren, Lisa Custer, Renee Kacenski, Jennifer Frank, Megan Thornton, Brendan Gillis, Kelsey Warner, Mackenzie Warner and Sydney Warner; and six great-grandchildren, Amanda and Sarah Custer, Aaron, John, and Delaney Kacenski, and Xander Thornton.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Gillis and a brother, Lawrence Gillis.

SEBRING Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday at Copeland Oaks in Sebring to celebrate the life of Vernon F. Heller, 85, who died Saturday evening in Aultman Hospital in Canton.
Vernon was born Dec. 16, 1923 in Cleveland, the son of Albert and Ann Heller and moved to Sebring nine years ago.
Vernon retired in 1984 from the U.S. Postal Service, where he had been a rural mail carrier for many years in Aurora.
He was a member of the Sebring United Methodist Church.
Vernon served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army and was a member of the VFW Aurora Post 2629. Vernon loved to build model airplanes.
He is survived by his wife, Angela Theresa (Franke) Heller, whom he married Aug. 6, 1976; stepchildren, Suzanne Minadeo of Naples, Fla., Thomas Trojan of Bedford and the Rev. Kathryn (Rev. Russell) Adams of Canfield. Vernon is also survived by stepgranddaughters, Sarah and Anna Adams and his sister, Dolly Wilce of Andover.

She was born July 9, 1918 in Monessen, Pa., a daughter of the late John and Mary Yuhasz Rivalsky.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Church. Ann enjoyed dancing, sewing, playing bingo, music and gardening. She was very active in many senior citizen groups, at St. Nicholas Church and with her late husband Emil at the Knights of Columbus. She was a hard worker, always had a smile on her face and enjoyed her family so much, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are sons, David (Elizabeth) Hrina and Raymond Hrina both of Struthers; daughters, Donna (Peter) Tamoney of Lakewood and Janice (William) Klingensmith of Berlin Center; two brothers, Edward Rivalsky of Struthers and Albert Rivalsky of Campbell; one sister, Betty Liptak of Struthers; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil Hrina, whom she married Aug. 14, 1943, and he died June 29, 2004; four brothers, John, Paul, Edward and Charles Rivalsky; and two sisters, Mary Kopkash and Katheryn Simon.
Friends will be received today, Sept. 15, 2009, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Kirila Funeral Home Inc., 258 Poland Ave. in Struthers. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery.

Edwin W. Huffman
YOUNGSTOWN Edwin W. Huffman departed this life to begin his final adventure on Aug. 2, 2009, following several years of failing health.
He was born Dec. 22, 1927.
After completing high school, he graduated from Youngstown University with a degree in education, specializing in Spanish.
He spent two years in the U.S. Army, most of it in Germany, where he became fluent in this language and conversational in many others. Thus began his insatiable love of travel and exploration.
He visited many countries worldwide and became an enthusiastic historian, fascinated by the varied cultures, customs, languages and ethnic developments of the places he saw. These pursuits fueled his love of collecting, especially stamps, unusual antiquities and coins, resulting in him being a nationally known collector, appraiser and expert on foreign monies.
During the Kennedy Administration, Ed spent two years as a Peace Corps volunteer, focused mainly in the Colombia, South American regions. There, he felt at home, among the simple customs and lifestyles of the people in the places he lived and worked. One of the many things he brought back with him was a love of cooking and of sharing meals with those he cared for and about.
Upon completing his time with the Peace Corps, he went to work for U.S. Steel and continued there until retirement age when he could once again freely pursue his many interests and hobbies, always staying active, busy and involved.
Ed was forever the number one go-to guy, no matter what the subject or question.
When he left us, he did so with a world of knowledge that will be irreplaceable to all who knew him. including a sister, Gail (Monte) Campbell; brother, Harry (Hap) Huffman; and a score of relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
A small one hour memorial service will be held Thursday, September 17, at the Edward J. Fox & Sons Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. in Youngstown, starting promptly at 2 p.m.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to Hospice of Western Reserve, whose kindness and caring were so much appreciated during Eds final days.

NILES A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen Church with the Rev. Thomas Kraszewski officiating for Dolores R. Kramer, 89, who died Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at 5:40 a.m. at Humility House in Austintown.
Mrs. Kramer was born Oct. 25, 1919 in Fostoria, and moved here in 1942.
She was a graduate of Toledo Central Catholic High School. A member of the church, where she had served as a Eucharistic Minister and a Pastoral Care representative at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She also was a member of the Niles Catholic Womens Club and the former Altar Society of the Church. She was a former volunteer for the Birthright of Trumbull County.
Her husband, Paul J., whom she married Oct. 12, 1946, preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 2001. She was also preceded in death by a son in infancy, William Michael; three sisters, Estelle Long, Bernice Finks and Alice Bowsher; and three brothers, Ralph, Paul and John Gade.
Survivors include her children, Sandra J. Yambar of Poland, Karen A. Mallog and her husband, Richard of Niles, Renee D. Ruman and her husband, Bill of Mineral Ridge; and P. James and his wife, Joyce of Girard; 10 grandchildren, Beth, Christopher, Michele, Michael, Adam, Kevin, Samantha, Kyle, Kelsea and Karisa; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Robert J. Maiorana, 76
CHARLOTTE, N.C. Robert J. Maiorana, 76, died Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte after a short battle with cancer.
He was born Nov. 13, 1932 in Youngstown, the son of the late Antonio and Tindara (Macula) Maiorana.
He was an Army veteran. He then studied finance at a local college. He went on to become a corporate accountant for numerous CPA firms and later took the position of Comptroller for Overdrive magazine, the largest trucking publication in the world. He was most proud of his work on the board of directors for St. Jude Childrens Hospital and his assistance to Danny Thomas and his family in fund raising efforts.
He is survived by his life partner of 37 years, Michael Campanale; a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Carl Fossaceca of McDonald; three sisters, Nancy Vadino of Niles, Mary Hudak of Campbell and Donna Ledenko of Niles; his grandchildren, Julie and Matt Dion, Christopher Fossaceca, Cara and Marco Pecchia and Anthony Fossaceca; four great-grandchildren, Marco Pecchia, Parker Dion, Sophia Pecchia, and Kennedy Dion; and numerous nieces and nephews; and loving friends.
Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Joseph, Sam, Thomas, Charles and John Maiorana; and three sisters, Janet Cupan, Anna Galati and Margaret Colburn.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at the McClurkin Funeral Home in Girard.

LOWELLVILLE There will be funeral services at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Rossi-Lellio Funeral Home followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, both in Lowellville, for James J. Perry, 54, who passed away Saturday, Sept. 12.
Jim was born Aug. 30, 1955 in Lowellville, the son of Dominic and Mary (Ruozzo) Perry.
He was a 1973 graduate of Lowellville High School and was employed at Lordstown General Motors for 36 years, where he served as an E.R.T. and was on the Fire Brigade.
Jim was a longtime member of the Mt. Carmel Society, where he served as Secretary and was on the Mt. Carmel Celebration Committee. He was a member of the Lowellville Gridiron Club and was a volunteer fireman and first responder for the Lowellville Fire Department.
Jim was a Civil War history buff and enjoyed visiting historical battle fields and was a collector of Lionel Trains. He was a member of the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. Jim enjoyed spending time at Cape Hatteras and was very passionate about his family, especially his son, Jimmy and was an avid lover of animals.
He will always be remembered by his wife, the former Lisa Boggia, whom he married Aug. 30 1986; his son, James Michael Perry of Lowellville; his brothers and sisters, Dr. Joseph (Elizabeth) Perry of Florida, Marilee (Thomas) Pilkington, Dominic (Rosemarie) Perry, his twin, John (Michele) Perry and Nancy (John) Grapevine, all of Lowellville; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Dr. Mark Perry.

Elaine K. Quigley, 83
JOHNSTON Elaine K. Quigley, 83, died on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009.
She was born on Sept. 30, 1925, in Morrisville, Pa., the daughter of Florence M. (Harrington) and William J. Reed. Formerly of Trenton, N.J., Mrs. Quigley was a 1945 graduate of Trenton High School.
On March 11, 1950, she married Robert Phillps Quigley and in 1963 they moved to Johnston. She was a member of the Johnston Federated United Methodist Church and the womens Suzanne Circle. Mrs. Quigley enjoyed quilting, knitting, sewing, going bowling and collected bells.
Mrs. Quigley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 35 years, Robert P. Quigley; an infant daughter, Barbara; a daughter, Elaine Way; and a brother, William Reed.
Survivors include two sons, Robert J. Quigley of Cortland and Kenneth P. (Christine) Quigley of Johnston; a sister, Florence Durand of Stewartville, Minn.; a brother, Frank Reed of Avon Park, Fla.; a son-in-law, Charles Way of Flagstaff, Ariz.; and four grandchildren, Charles R. Richard A. Rathburn Sr., 76
MINERAL RIDGE Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home, Mineral Ridge Chapel for Richard A. Rathburn Sr., 76, who died late Saturday evening at his home.
Richard was born June 23, 1933 in Johnston, the son of the late Walter A. and Lottie Mae (Grove) Rathburn.
He was the founder of T.D.D.S. Technical Institute in Lake Milton, which he owned and operated for 36 years. Previous to operating T.D.D.S., he had driven trucks for 20 years.
He was an attendant of the Mineral Ridge United Methodist Church, the Niles McKinley No. 794 Masonic Lodge and was a former member of the ODD Fellows of Mineral Ridge. He was a graduate of Mineral Ridge High School. He was a member of the Campfire Street Rodders and had served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Richard was an avid golfer, enjoyed restoring antique gas pumps and antique pedal cars.
Richard leaves his wife, the former Hannah Roberson, whom he married June 25, 1955; three children, Pamela Kitt of Sarasota, Fla., Gail Sewell at home and Richard A. Jr. (Christine) Rathburn of Mineral Ridge; a sister, Georgie (Steve) Hapsic of Mineral Ridge; a brother, Douglas E. Rathburn of Youngstown; seven grandchildren, Sara (Brian) Linger, Amy Parker, Stephanie (Bryan) Calhoun, Dina Rathburn, Alexandra Rathburn, Edward Kitt and Isabella Rathburn; and three great-grandchildren, Michael DiTosto, Travis Calhoun and Jonathan Calhoun.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
The Masonic Lodge will hold a service at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home

Stella C. Romain, 97
LORDSTOWN Stella C. Romain, 97, passed away peacefully at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, at Humility House in Austintown.
She was born Feb. 5, 1912 in Cecil, Pa., the daughter of Frank and Antonia (Kovaleska) Lemanek.
An area resident for most of her life, Stella was employed in the winding department at Peerless Electric for 10 years, until 1957, and later was employed as a custodian at the Lordstown Village Fire Department for 10 years, until 1986.
She was a member of the Christ Our King Catholic Church of Warren, the Lordstown Firemans Auxiliary, and Blue Star Mothers Chapter 69 of Lordstown.
Her husband of 50 years, Albert J. Romain, whom she married Dec. 25, 1928, preceded her in death March 4, 1979. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Stephana Stematz; three brothers, Chester, Steve, Frank; and son-in-law, Joseph Linert.
She will be sadly missed by her son Albert P. Peno Romain and wife Donna of Lordstown; her daughter, Patricia Ann Linert of Mineral Ridge; and nine grandchildren, Albert Romain Jr., Jeff Romain, Shelley (David) Wack, Sharon (Enoch) Evinsky, Scott (Marie) Romain, Greg (Sherry) Romain, Kim (Randy) Snowden, Joseph Linert and Michael Linert. She also leaves 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Richard Murphy will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, at St. Marys Church of Mineral Ridge.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren.
Interment will be at Pineview Memorial Park.

Dr. Manuel Snyder, 92
BOARDMAN Services will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Shriver-Allison-Courtley-Weller-King Funeral Home, for Dr. Manuel Snyder, 92, who died early Saturday morning.
Dr. Snyder was born Feb. 9, 1917 in Youngstown, a son of Meyer and Anna Garrett Snyder.
He was a graduate of East High School and Indiana Tech.
In 1942, Dr. Snyder began his career with the U.S. Defense Department, attached to the U.S. Navy. He started as a Naval Aircraft Inspector at Wright-Patterson and progressed to work on many Navy programs. His projects included deployment devices for nuclear subs, development of the F-15 fighter plane, and the early age space program, including the Gemini and Apollo projects. In commemoration of his work as project manager for the Lunar Rover, his name is engraved on a plaque that remains on the moon.
His wife, the former Beatrice Louise Faber, whom he married in 1945, died Nov. 5, 2005.
Manuel is survived by his three daughters, Rochelle (Larry) Marks of Boardman, with whom he resided, Lauren Tillman of Sewickley, Pa. and Denise Ehrenberg of Boardman; three grandchildren, Jessica and Jason Ehrenberg and Bradley Marks; and two sisters-in-law, Roberta Aronoff and Matilda Faber.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters; and a brother.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and may also visit at the Marks residence.

Nora Lee Stewart, 83
YOUNGSTOWN Nora Lee Stewart, 83, passed away early Saturday afternoon, Sept. 12, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center, following a brief illness.
Nora Lee was born Nov. 2, 1925 in Salem, a daughter of the late Everett and Mary Rodgers Stewart, and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a Chaney High School graduate, was a homemaker and worked as a dental technician for Deeley Dental Lab in Youngstown, later becoming the companys bookkeeper. She retired as a bookkeeper in the early 1980s from the Madison Machine Company in Youngstown.
She was a member of St. Christine Church, enjoyed attending bible study, playing cards with her friends, and immensely enjoyed baking. She was noted for her delicious cookies, cakes and pies that she generously shared with her family and friends.
Her beloved husband, Thomas L. Stewart, whom she married May 29, 1948, passed away Oct. 1, 2005.
Mrs. Stewart leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lee and Robert Houston of New Castle, Pa.; her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas E. and Catherine Stewart of Columbus; three grandchildren, Maggie, Rachael and Trevor; three sisters, Louise Morgan of Boardman, Jean Hughes of Boardman and Joann (Chuck) Foster of East Palestine; a brother, James (Lucille) Stewart of Youngstown; and her son-in-law, Kenneth Brownlie of Cleveland.
Besides her husband, a daughter, Jeanne Brownlie and a brother, Robert Stewart, are deceased.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a memorial service at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17, at St. Christine Church in Youngstown.
A memorial luncheon will be held immediately following the church service Thursday morning at the St. Christine Parish Center. It was Nora Lees wish that all family and friends join her immediate family for a celebration of her life at the memorial luncheon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nora Lees name to The Lupus Foundation or to St. Christine Church.

Maria Margareta Williams, 87
POLAND Prayers will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Holy Family Church for Maria Margareta Williams, 87, who passed away Saturday at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Boardman.
Maria was born Sept. 18, 1921 in Oberursel Am/Taunus Germany.
Maria left Germany at the age of 16 on the last ship to leave to New York prior to World War II.
She married during the war to Ensign Philip Williams on Oct. 27, 1944.
Maria was a parishioner of the Holy Family Church for 37 years, serving as a volunteer in her early years in the school cafeteria. She belonged to the Knights of Columbus Womens Guild, Holy Family Senior Citizens and the Saxons Women Branch.
Her life was devoted to her family and church. She spent the past 12 years wintering in Florida with her son and his wife, Mary, and her husbands family.
She lived in Poland for 37 years moving from Fairfield, Conn. She traveled extensively throughout the United States and made numerous trips to Europe.
Maria leaves her husband; her son, Philip (Mary) Williams of Minnesota; her daughter, Loretta (Helmut) Maier of Germany; three grandchildren, Eleanor Kuhns, Edward Williams and Michelle Maier; four great-grandchildren, Joseph and Edward Kuhns and Philip and Lily Williams; and 11 nieces and nephews, four of whom reside in Germany.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
The family will be receiving friends Wednesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
She was always kind and gentle. She will be sorely missed. God has chosen well.
