Mary E. Liz Anderson, 60
AUSTINTOWN Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Christian Assembly in Boardman for Mary E. Liz Anderson, 60, who went home to be with the Lord Thursday evening at her residence.
She was born Dec. 4, 1948, in Youngstown, a daughter of Thomas and Mary (Pica) Hanes, and she resided in this area all of her life.
She was a 1966 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School. She worked for Delphi Packard Electric for several years as an assembly line worker before retiring in 1983.
She was an active member of the Christian Assembly in Boardman and she enjoyed camping and spending time with her family, friends, and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Keith E. Anderson of Austintown and Dain C. (Emily) Anderson of Youngstown; and three grandchildren, Jason, Dominic and Landon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Gary Hanes; and a sister, Tina Hanes.
Arrangements are being handled by the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.

James Spud Lawrence Callier, 51
YOUNGSTOWN Funeral services will be at noon on Wednesday at the F.D. Mason Memorial Funeral Home Inc. for James Spud Lawrence Callier, 51, who departed this life on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Heath Center.
Mr. Callier was born Jan. 25, 1958 in Youngstown, a son of James H. and Fannie Mae Huff Callier.
He was a welder for Youngstown Steel Door and attended Choffin Career and Technical Center.
He leaves his mother; two daughters, Dawn Callier and Chawntae Dennis; two sons, Jamar Callier and Tremond Naze; two sisters, Cynthia Callier and Tyra Whatley; a brother, Tariton Callier, all of Youngstown; and nine grandchildren.
His father; a sister, Shirley Callier; and a grandson, preceded him in death.
Viewing will be from noon to 4 p.m. on Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Edith Edie L. Christy, 90
STRUTHERS Services will be held Wednesday morning at the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers at 11 a.m. for Edith Edie L. Christy, 90, of Caprice Health Care Center, formerly of Struthers.
Edith was born April 4, 1919, in Youngstown, a daughter of Myron and Belle Moore Burns.
She attended Struthers High School and married her beloved husband, Kenneth Devere Christy on April 4, 1941.
She was a homemaker and had a great love for baking and people. She enjoyed the art of baking and was a master at it. She was a member of the Struthers United Methodist Church in Struthers.
Edith leaves her son, Robert (Connie) Christy of Boardman; a daughter, Susan (Jack) Rose of Athens, Ga.; a stepsister, Patricia Burns of Struthers; two grandchildren, Terry and Brian Rose; and one great-grandchild, Taylor.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, who died March 18, 1990 and a brother, David Burns.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the Clemente Funeral Home.

Alan L. Clark, Sr., 61
Together Again
HUBBARD Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Chapel at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown for Alan L. Clark, Sr., 61, who died Friday night at his residence surrounded by his family.
Alan was born Sept. 5, 1948, in Youngstown, to the late Millard G. Clark and Hazel Barnhart.
Alan worked for Conrail Railroad for many years until an accident kept him from working. He was a Veteran in the U.S. Army, and he served his country during the Vietnam war. Alan was an avid card player, and member of Alcoholics Anonymous.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, the former Deborah L. Harris. They married Dec. 17, 1966, she died Sept. 11, 1998.
He is survied by his two daughters, Tina M. Skruck and Lisa A. Chaibi, both of Hubbard; a son, Alan L. Clark, Jr. of Hubbard; five grandchildren, Anthony, Michael, Nicholas, Kerrigan and Chelsea; one great-granddaughter, Briana; mother-in-law, Marcella Stellato; and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

Ann Marie Falasca, 68
BERLIN CENTER A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. James Church in North Jackson for Ann Marie Falasca, 68, who passed away Saturday at St. Elizabeth Health Center Main Campus.
Ann was born Jan. 29, 1941 in Youngstown, the daughter of Salvatore and Helen (Ozello) Neri.
She was an East High School graduate, class of 1958 and had been a bus driver with the Western Reserve School System until 1985.
Ann was an active member of the church, where she was a lector, involved with the Bible study group, the Crescendo, and as a volunteer within the church, as well as a volunteer at the soup kitchen. Ann also enjoyed reading, flowers, and bird watching.
Ann leaves her husband, Joseph Falasca, whom she married Sept. 7, 1963; four children, Josie McCormick of Struthers and her fiancée, Dave Abair, Michael Falasca and his wife, Debbie of Salem, Elena Yeaton and her husband, Rob of Akron and Tracie Burnett and her husband, Ed of Berlin Center. Ann also leaves two sisters, Angie Donofrio and Helen Deley, both of Youngstown, as well as 10 grandchildren, Deanna, Dino, Jayme, Miranda, Joseph, Sammy, Lauren, Autumn, Isaac and Matthew.
Besides her parents, Ann was preceded in death by one brother, Tony Neri.

Ana Medina, 64
CAMPBELL Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday afternoon at the Wasko Funeral Home with Father Gerald Delucia officiating for Ana Medina, 64, who passed away Friday afternoon in St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Ana was born April 24, 1945, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Francisco and Rosa DeRosa Rivera and moved to Campbell in 2002 from Long Island, N.Y.
She was a homemaker and was of the Catholic faith.
Ana leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Anibal, whom she married on June 3, 1967; two daughters, Eileen (Ruben) Valentin and Janice (Ramon) Figueroa, both of Campbell; five grandchildren, Shanice-Rae, Aaron, Medina, Ariana and Ramon; one brother, Carmelo Agosto of Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Ana was preceded in death by a sister, Ada Campos and her father-in-law, Octavio Medina.

Ruth Nazario, 76
YOUNGSTOWN Ruth Nazario, 76, passed away Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at her residence.
She was born April 9, 1933, in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, a daughter of the late José Nazario and the late Margarita Lopez Nazario.
Ruth enjoyed singing and will always be remembered for her smile.
Family includes her sons, Carlos and Lisette González of Florida and Ricardo and Nellie González of Youngstown; her daughters, Carmen Muñiz of Florida and Elizabeth and Robert Work of Lorain; her brothers, Jose and Olga DelGado, Nestor and Carol Nazario of Lorain and Ruben and Nancy Nazario of Hershey, Pa.; her sister, Lydia Nazario of Puerto Rico; her sisters-in-law, Marsha Nazario of Akron and Petronella Nazario of Lorain; and six grandchildren, Ricardo González Jr., Adriana González, Carlos González, Kyle Work, Rachel Work and Alejandra González.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Heriberto Nazario, José Ramon Nazario, and Rafael Nazario; her first husband, Siro González; and her second husband, Francisco Muñiz.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at the Fabrizio Funeral Home, 619 East Indianola Ave. in Youngstown.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Albert Scarpine, 89
YOUNGSTOWN There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at 11 a.m. at St. Christine Church in Youngstown with the Rev. Msgr. David Rhodes officiating, for Albert Scarpine, 89, who passed away on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009.
Albert will always be remembered and loved by his family and friends.
He was born Dec. 28, 1919 in Youngstown, the son of Anthony and Marie (Modarelli) Scarpine, and was a lifelong area resident.
Albert was employed for over 40 years as a layout man for William B. Pollock Steel Fabrication Company and retired in 1981.
He was a 1937 graduate of The Rayen School, and was a member of St. Christine Church, its St. Vincent DePaul Society, along with being an Usher at the 7 a.m. Mass on every Sunday.
Albert was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he was stationed in Europe and earned the rank of First Sergeant with the 30th Chemical Company. He was awarded the following decorations, EAME Theater Service Medal with two bronze stars, the Good Conduct Medal, the Victory Medal, and the American Theater Service Medal.
Albert enjoyed playing golf and tennis, along with doing woodworking.
His wife, the former Carmella Alfona, whom he married July 3, 1948, died Jan. 17, 2006.
He leaves behind to hold on to his precious memories his three sons, Albert R. (Patty) Scarpine of Lancaster, Calif., Anthony R. Scarpine of Youngstown and Allan (Louanne) Scarpine of Sandburn, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Daniel A. (Kimmy) Scarpine, Paulette Scarpine and Vincent, Nicholas and Dominic Scarpine; and three great-grandchildren, Hathaway, Harmony and Orion.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Busty Scarpine; and three sisters, Victoria Josephine Scarpine, Carmel Jane Coppolla and Rose Marino.
Friends may call on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, from 10 a.m. to 10:55 a.m. at St. Christine Church, 3165 S. Schenley Ave. in Youngstown.

Together Again
AUSTINTOWN Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Austintown for Richard W. Zorn, 81, who died early Sunday morning at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boardman.
He was born Jan. 18, 1928, in Berlin, Pa., a son of Harold and Ruth (Clapper) Zorn and he came to this area in 1950.
He was a 1946 graduate of Brothersvalley High School in Berlin and he was also a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War.
He worked for Ohio Bell as a cable splicing supervisor for 32 years before retiring in 1986.
He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. He enjoyed boating, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
He married the former Alice Werner on June 8, 1953, and she preceded him in death on March 30, 2002.
He is survived by two children, William H. (Barbara) Zorn and Debra (Steve Bobalik) Zorn, both of Austintown; and three sisters, Delores (Jay) Whipkey of Berlin, Pa., Ginny (Tony) Tattarelli of Sun City, Fla., and Phyllis Kendall of Trenton, N.J.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Eugene.
