BOARDMAN There will be funeral services at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Church in Boardman for Rose M. Adams, 94, who passed away Monday morning, Oct. 19, at St. Marys Alzheimers Center.
Rose was born Jan. 13, 1915, in Farrell, Pa., the daughter of Angelo and Mary Petrillo Cannone.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Charles Church.
Her husband, Fred Butch Adams, whom she married Jan. 13, 1940, passed away July 15, 1985.
She leaves two daughters, Patricia Gonci and Marlene (Joseph) Sandine, all of Boardman; four grandchildren, Dr. Michael (Janice) Cunningham, Tricia (Bruce) Schlein, Jolynne (Scott) Frommelt and Joey (Mindi) Sandine; 10 great-grandchildren, Courtney, Casey, Scotty, Lauren, Jenna Rose, Julianna, Joey Jr., and Angelina and Katie and Lucas, whom Rose did not get the chance to enjoy; three brothers, Jake, Nick and Frank Cannone, all of Farrell; and a sister, Carmel Matika.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Cannone and two sisters, Jennie Vukovich and Eleanor Delliquadri.

AUSTINTOWN Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Marie J. Anzelmo, 91, who died early Monday morning at Shepherd of the Valley Retirement Home in Boardman.
She was born June 5, 1918 in Youngstown, a daughter of Frank and Rose (Krayoski) Perish and she resided in this area all of her life.
She was a 1937 graduate of South High School. She was an employee at Strouss Department Store in downtown Youngstown, where she worked in receiving and traffic for 23 years before retiring in 1993.
She was a member of the Christ Presbyterian Church in Canfield. Marie enjoyed bowling, cross stitching, and sewing.
She married Donald A. Anzelmo on Nov. 19, 1938, and he preceded her in death Feb. 13, 1998.
Marie is survived by her four children, Donna Zeisler of Mineral Ridge, Sandra (Richard) Bieltz of Youngstown, Anthony (Patricia) Anzelmo of Bolivia, N.C. and Theodore (Pam) of Youngstown. She also leaves 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Irene Perish of Canfield.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Thomas Perish; a sister, Virginia Haney; and two grandchildren, Christian Anzelmo and Cristine Hunter.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Talitha Faye Barnes, 84
ENON VALLEY, PA After 10 years of living with the effects of congestive heart failure, Talitha Faye Barnes, 84, died at home surrounded with the love of family and friends on Oct. 4, 2009.
Faith in God and love of family and friends were the mainstays of her life.
She was born on Aug. 11, 1925 to C.V. Miller and Lottie Mae Hall in North Jackson and graduated from Waterford High School in 1943.
She married Harry Barnes in January of 1944 and they lived most of their married life in Enon Valley.
She was a long time member of the Bethel U.P. Church.
Of her many occupations, she was most remembered for driving a school bus for Mohawk District.
She was a copious reader and loved to travel, especially since her children were spread across the country. She was a very giving and loving person to all she met.
Faye is survived by one brother, Glenn Miller and his wife, Bobbi; sister, Nancy McKinley and her husband, Weldon; sister-in-law, Theda Miller; and many nieces and nephews.
Her six children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all dearly love her and miss her with all their hearts. She was predeceased by her former husband, Harry Barnes, six of her nine siblings, Esther Hivley, Wanda Milliken, Ethel Moore, Butch Miller, Edith Miller and Jane Bentfield; and great-grandson, Jonothan Trosky Fayes.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Bethel U.P. Church, 154 Pertersburg Road in Enon Valley (724-667-8031).
The gathering of family and friends will be at 10 a.m., with the service beginning at 11 a.m.

AUSTINTOWN There will be funeral services at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman, followed by a 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the Immaculate Conception Church with the Rev. Msgr. John Zuraw celebrating for Mary (Klanica) Bondi, 87, who passed away Saturday evening at Austinwoods Healthcare Center.
Mary was born Aug. 6, 1922 in Czechoslovakia, the daughter of Andrew and Anna Klanica, and came to America as a young child.
Mary had worked at General Electric before raising her family with her husband, Louis Bondi, whom she married Feb. 3, 1951.
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church.
Memories of Mary will be forever cherished by her husband, Louis of Youngstown; her daughter, Mary Ann (James) Bozdog of Hubbard; her son, Robert (Priscilla) Bondi of New Castle, Pa.; three loving grandchildren, Nicolette, Christy and Robert Jr. Bondi; her two sisters, Ann Ceglia of Cortland and Helen Sinchak of Boardman; and a brother, George Klanica of Youngstown.
Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brother, John Klanica.

Kenneth Centorame, 56
CANFIELD Kenneth Centorame, 56, passed away Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at University Hospital in Cleveland from Leukemia.
He was born May 19, 1953 in Youngstown, the son of Tony and Madelyn (Podolsky) Centorame. He was the husband of Susan (Colucci) Centorame, whom he married Aug. 14, 1982.
His family includes his wife, Susan Centorame of Canfield; his mother, Madelyn Centorame of Canfield, whom he spent everyday caring for; his daughter, Katie Centorame, and grandson, Michael Joshua Clark of Boardman; son Michael Centorame of Boardman; sister Lu Ann Martin and brother-in-law Detective Daryl Martin and nieces Kelly and Molly Martin of Canfield; and sister-in-law Margaret Campanelli and great-nieces Gianna Campanelli and great-nephew Joey Campanelli.
He was preceded in death by his father, Tony Centorame.
Kenneth was a 1971 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School, where he played center for coach Don Buccis football team. He also graduated with a bachelors degree in applied science in law enforcement from Youngstown State University. He attended Northwestern University Traffic Institute from 1982 to 1983, receiving his certification in Traffic Investigation.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Chapter No. 3813B since 1990. He was awarded Blue Coat of the Year in 1990 and 1991, Family of the Year in 1994, Greater Youngstown Chapter Knights of Columbus Hall of Fame in 2001 and treasurer of Knights of Columbus since 1997 and the YMCA.
Prior to becoming a policeman, Kenny worked at Fitzsimmons Steel Mill, putting himself through college. He joined the Youngstown Police Department in 1975 as a patrolmen, working all sides of town. In May of 1981, he was promoted to Sergeant, and in January of 1988, he was promoted to Lieutenant. In June of 1996, he was promoted to Captain, and currently he was Chief of Detectives of the Youngstown Police Department.
He received many awards including the General Services Administration Award recognizing significant contributions to the maintenance of Law and Order and Personal Safety within the Federal Community, 2009 Excellent Police Duty Award of the most fulfilling moments came from working with other detective in solving the Gina Gae Tenney murder case and the robbing and shooting of Joe Kaluza. He also received the Meritous Service Award in 1976 and Policeman of the month in November of 1978.
Kenneth enjoyed spending time with his family and his three month old grandson. He enjoyed fishing and golfing with his son in Florida. He loved the outdoors and spent many hours gardening and working in masonry. He also enjoyed watching the Youngstown State University Penguin football games.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. and Thursday from 8:30 to 9 a.m. at the Fabrizio Funeral Home, 619 E. Indianola Ave. in Youngstown.
His services will be Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Matthias Church.
His family would like to extend a special thanks to friends Elaine and Kenny Linden and Joe Fergus for their continual support during Kennys illness.

Theodora Dee Dora (Mamonis) Economakis, 90
YOUNGSTOWN Theodora Dee Dora (Mamonis) Economakis, 90, passed away on Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at her home at 4:20 a.m.
Born in Youngstown, she was the daughter of Demetrios and Mary Mamounis.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, the Ladies Philoptochos Society and the Senior Citizens Group.
Dee and her husband, Peter, owned and operated P-Dees Restaurant in Coitsville. She also worked at McKenzie Square at the Eastwood Mall.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Economakis; her father and mother, Demetrios and Mary Mamounis; two sisters, Catherine Fentules and Argiro Nicolaidis; and two brothers, Gust Mamounis and Angelo Mamonis.
Dee was an accomplished artist, and had a love of gardening, cooking, baking and cake decorating.
She is survived by her children, Louise Gibb of Brookfield, Joann (Leland) Musquire of New Bedford, Pa. and John (Kathy) Economakis of North Jackson; eight grandchildren, Nick Gibb, Peter Gibb, Troy Musquire, David Schick, John Economakis and Christopher Jewel; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She also leaves her companion, Ted Roguski.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home on 3100 Canfield Road in Youngstown from 4 to 8 p.m. The prayer service will be at 7 p.m.

Vincent J. Furrie Sr., 88
CANFIELD There will be funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony of Padua Church for Vincent J. Furrie Sr., 88, who died at 5:20 p.m. Saturday evening at his residence.
He was born Oct. 28, 1920 in Youngstown and graduated from Fowler High School in 1939.
He served in World War II as a Sergeant in the 95th Infantry Division of the 377th Infantry Company in General Pattons U.S. Third Army and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He earned numerous medals, including three Bronze Service Stars and two Bronze Star Medals (one with Oak Leaf) for bravery and valor in combat.
After the war, he married Mary Louise Bruno on July 21, 1945 at St. Anns Church in the Brier Hill section of Youngstown. Together they started in the grocery business with a neighborhood store on Oakland Avenue in 1947. In 1962, he opened his first supermarket on Glenwood Avenue and joined Sparkle Markets. In 1978, he established the Village Plaza Sparkle Group with the opening of the Village Plaza Sparkle store in Columbiana. For the past 31 years, he was the managing partner and guided the companys expansion of numerous stores through construction and acquisition.
He is survived by his four children, Dorajean (Ron) Havrilla of Canfield, John (Pam) Furrie of Tucson, Ariz. and Vincent Jr. (Jill) Furrie and Michael (Sonia) Furrie, both of Columbiana; 10 grandchildren, Brian Havrilla, Tod Havrilla, Morgan Havrilla Jacob, Stephen Havrilla, Kristen Furrie Owens, Vincent Furrie, Brent Furrie, David Furrie, Amy Furrie Canada and Nicole Furrie; and six great-grandchildren, Amanda and Allison Havrilla, Lucas Jacob, Alexandra West, Dominic Furrie and Alexander Havrilla.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise in 2006 and his brother, Nicholas Furrie of Vienna in 2004.
Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday and at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the Schiavone Funeral Home in Youngstown.
Entombment will be at Calvary Cemetery.

Conrad Kovach, 73
BOARDMAN There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Saint Luke Church in Boardman with Father Joseph Fata officiating for Conrad Kovach, 73, who died Monday morning, Oct. 19, at his residence.
Conrad was born June 19, 1936, in Campbell, a son of the late Joseph and Mary Ferenchak Kovach.
He graduated from Campbell Memorial High School in 1954 and was an Army veteran. He completed the Professional Golfers Association Merchandising and Golf School.
Conrad was a professional golfer for 34 years, and was employed at the Mill Creek Park golf course for 28 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the PGA, Northeastern Ohio Chapter, and St. Luke Church.
Conrad played in many professional tournaments in Northeast Ohio and held the record for the lowest score at Hubbard Golf Course and Mill Creek Golf course. One of his most memorable experiences was being able to golf at the Augusta National Golf Club, where the Masters are held.
He leaves his wife, the former Arlene Borghetti, whom he married May 4, 1977; two sons, David Kovach and Joseph Kovach; and his uncle, Bob Ferenchak.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Bonita Kovach.
Friends may call for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.

Eugene Beans Leshnack, 71
LIBERTY Eugene Beans Leshnack, 71, of Yvonne Drive, passed away at 7:45 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, at Hospice House surrounded by his family, following a long courageous battle with Lupus and bladder cancer.
He was born July 23, 1938 in Youngstown, a son of Joseph and Catherine Melek Leshnack and was a lifelong area resident.
A 1958 graduate of East High School, where Beans was captain of the 1955 Golden Bears undefeated City Championship team. He played left guard and linebacker, where he excelled at both positions. He was also named to the 1955 All City team.
After graduation in 1958 from East High School, Beans played football for Youngstown State University under Dike Beede for 2 years.
He worked at Republic Rubber and B & B Construction before becoming a Mahoning County Deputy Sheriff under Ray T. Davis. He remained at the Sheriffs Department for 24 years retiring at the rank of Captain.
After his retirement, Beans continued to enjoy his hobbies on more of a full time basis. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He taught his children, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren the sport of fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Eagles Club in Pymatuning, NRA, and also John F. Buckley Catholic War Vets in Youngstown.
He leaves his wife of 48 years, the former Brenda Cononico, whom he married April 22, 1961; two daughters, Gina (Rick) Fortune and Christine Cordy, both of Liberty; and two sons, Anthony (Anita) Leshnack of Lordstown and Geno (Angie) Leshnack of Liberty.
He also leaves two brothers, Joseph (Helen) Leshnack of Austintown and Leonard (JoAnn) Leshnack of Campbell; and three sisters, Margaret Penk, Mary Louise Lesnak and Kay (Ted) Kalischak, all of Youngstown.
Beans leaves the loves of his life, his seven grandchildren, David and Kimmy Cordy and Leah, Ty, Joey, Kellsie and Geno Jr. Leshnack. He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews and many friends who loved him dearly.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Lesnak.

Together Again
CAMPBELL Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Wasko Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Croatian Church in Youngstown for Daisy Litch, 92, who passed away Sunday morning at the Masternick Memorial Health Care Center.
Daisy was born Jan. 18, 1917 in Rankin, Pa., the daughter of John and Luba Kambic Blazina and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a 1936 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and was a supervisor for W.T. Grant Company for 18 years.
She was a member of the church and was very active in many organizations including, President of VFW 7600 Ladies Aux., The Daughters of SS. Peter and Paul, Croatian Pensioners of Youngstown, CFU Lodge No. 66, St. Elizabeths Craft Club and Campbell Croatian Ladies Club.
Daisy enjoyed music, singing, dancing, traveling and reading. She crocheted many beautiful items for her family and friends and was a very hard worker, everyone knew if Daisy did it, it was done well.
Her husband, John Litch, whom she married Feb. 6, 1937, passed away on Aug. 1, 1990.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Joan Borak of Campbell, with whom she made her home; one brother, Vincent Blazic of Campbell; three grandchildren, Robert Litch of Campbell, Marissa Litch of Struthers and Nadyne (Ron) Stallsmith of New Middletown; four great-grandchildren, John Michael, Garrett, Andrew and Joseph; and a daughter-in-law, Darlene Litch of Campbell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, John Sonny Litch; two brothers, John and Charles Blazina; a sister, Zora Demchak; and a son-in-law, Bill Borak.

DEBARY, FLA. Dianne (Horvath) Remias Myers, 61, formerly of Austintown, passed away Wednesday morning, Oct. 14, 2009, in Orlando, Fla. of breast cancer.
Dianne was born Nov. 24, 1947 in New Middletown, the daughter of the late Steven and Elvira (Soriano) Horvath.
She was a 1965 graduate of Springfield Local High School. She worked for General Electric in the Austintown Coil Plant, where her co-workers enjoyed her sideline beautician services. In 1982, Dianne moved to the Central Florida area, where she was a hard working Executive Assistant for many years.
She enjoyed horseback riding and bowling.
Dianne is survived by her daughter, Julie (John) Raad of Orlando; her son, Mark (Jennifer) Remias of Debary; two granddaughters, Jenna and Julia Raad; one sister, Jean Horvath of Austintown; one brother, John Horvath of Poland; several nieces, nephews; and two great-nieces.
Dianne will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Gerald DeLucia, preceded by a 9:15 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. in Boardman for Katherine Onesti, 85, who went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, with her loving family at her side.
Katherine will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for her kind words, big heart, and the way she always tried to serve others. The two words that best describe Katherine would be humility and dignity throughout her life.
She was born March 20, 1924 in Youngstown, the daughter of John and Catherine (Klarich) Serblin, and was a lifelong area resident.
Katherine was a homemaker along with being employed at General Electric, Strouss Department Store as a clerk and model, Memory Lane Gift Shop in the Southern Park Mall, and FavorIt Hostess Shop in the Boardman Plaza.
She was a member of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Youngstown, and attended East High School.
Katherine was an animal lover and enjoyed gardening, cooking, along with baking her famous ginger cookies and kolachi. Her greatest love in life was watching her children and grandchildren grow up and spending time with them.
Her husband, Daniel C. Onesti, whom she married May 29, 1946, died Aug. 31, 1987.
She leaves behind to hold on to her precious memories her son, Thomas Tom (Tanya) Onesti of Canfield; a daughter, Dianne (Steven) Smetana of Fairlawn; two granddaughters, Tara and Dana Onesti; two step grandchildren, Adam and Rachel Smetana; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Caroline Scollen and Anne Balogh; and two brothers, John and Nicholas Orawitz.

William Bill Phipps Jr., 69
BURKBURNETT, TEXAS William Bill Ross Phipps Jr., 69, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009.
The funeral liturgy will be conducted at 11 a.m., today, Oct. 20, 2009, at St. Jude Catholic Church with the Rev. Hoa Nguyen, the Rev. Joseph Meledom and the Rev. Severius J. Blank, con-celebrants.
A Rite of committal will follow at Burkburnett Cemetery under the direction of the Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Burkburnett.
A son of the late William Ross and Edith Marie (Bauder) Phipps, he was born on April 10, 1940 in New Castle, Pa.
He retired as a Captain from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years of service. After retirement, Bill taught Accounting and Business Data Processing at Vernon Regional Junior College.
He was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church of Burkburnett, where he was a Third Degree Knight of Columbus.
Bill was an avid bass fisherman, and greatly enjoyed fishing at lakes all over Texas. He passed the love of lakes and fishing onto his son. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert E. Phipps and stepfather, Morley North.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Wanda Phipps of Burkburnett; his son, William Bill Ross Phipps III and his wife, Amy of Stillwater, Okla.; two brothers, Albert Al H. Phipps and wife, Sally of Austintown and Joseph G. Phipps and his wife, Cindy of Oklahoma City; and several nieces and nephews.
The Christian wake service was held at 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at the Chapel of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett.

Albert M. Tarr Jr, 72
YOUNGSTOWN Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. on Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Albert M. Tarr, 72, who passed away Sunday at his home.
Albert was born Nov. 25, 1936 in Youngstown, the son of Albert Tarr and Reva (McCullough) Tarr.
Albert worked as a fabricator for Youngstown Welding and Engineering, where he retired in 1994.
Albert was an avid football fan. He also enjoyed working outdoors. Albert loved spending time with his family.
Albert is survived by his wife of 51 years, the former Mildred White, whom he married on Aug. 16, 1958.
Albert also leaves behind four children, Glen (Beth) Tarr of Maple Shade, N.J., Cheryl (Robert) of Davison of Youngstown, Albert Tarr of Austintown and Suzanne (Thomas) Vekasy of Austintown.
He also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Brooke Walker, Tiffany Davison, Steven Tarr, Krysti Pollock, Thomas Vekasy, Taylor Vekasy and Sean, Catilin and Bryan Tarr. He also leaves four great-grandchildren, Giovan and Gianna Gilbert, Savannah Davison and Phoenix Walker.
Albert also leaves behind two sisters, Cathy Dueley of Youngstown and Sally Habegger of Indiana.
Besides his parents, Albert was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith; and three brothers, Gerald, Richard and Roger Tarr.
Friends and family may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Patricia A. Trinckes, 80
BROOKFIELD Mrs. Patricia A. Trinckes, 80, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, at 3:15 p.m. at Sharon Regional Health Center in Sharon, Pa.
Mrs. Trinckes was born on Jan. 30, 1929, in Sharon, to James E. and Grace E. (Barrett) Barker.
She married Angelo V. Trinckes on Jan. 12, 1949, and together they have shared more than 60 years of marriage.
Patricia was a member of St. Bernadettes Catholic Church in Masury, where she had been a former Eucharistic Minister. She enjoyed drawing pictures, crocheting, sewing childrens clothes, making doll clothes and selling them, and she had been a volunteer at the Niles Y.M.C.A.
Mrs. Trinckes is survived by her husband, Angelo at home; two sons, Vincent A. Trinckes and his wife, Pamela of Hubbard and Daniel S. Trinckes and his wife, Christine of Brookfield; two brothers, John Barker of Hermitage, Pa. and Richard Barker of Kent; and by her two sisters, Loretta DeSantis of Sharon and Paula Orndorff of Fredonia, Pa. Also surviving are her nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, James Barker; and by her sister, Alice Canale.
At Mrs. Trinckes request, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at St. Bernadettes Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank Zanni, pastor.
Burial will follow at Brookfield Township Cemetery.
