Hubbard's Schultz hits game-winner
Elizabeth Srock threw a one-hitter to lead Western Reserve.
HUBBARD Hubbard sophomore Megan Schultz hit the game-winning line drive in the right-center gap to score sophomore Jessica Lunt with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Eagles upended Champion 1-0 in a Trumbull Athletic Conference softball game on Tuesday.
Schultz had two hits and junior Kelly Kollar tripled in the seventh for the Eagles (4-2, 1-1). Winning pitcher Kara Egelsky (3-0) tossed a five-hitter.
Jackie Knepp had three hits for Champion (2-3, 0-2).
Newton Falls 8, Liberty 2
LIBERTY Senior Kirsten Berry had two hits including an RBI triple and senior Emily Montgomery also had two hits for Newton Falls.
Blaine Chapman was the winning pitcher.
Sophomore Melissa Dykes double and singled for Liberty (1-3, 1-1 TAC) while junior Jessie Szakacs' double netted the Leopards their lone RBI.
Campbell 13, Rayen 0
YOUNGSTOWN Briana Koval pitched a five-hit shutout, striking out three and walking one, to lead Campbell. Delilah Benedis doubled and scored three times. Popi Zembillas added a double for Campbell (1-3).
Massillon Perry 9, Boardman 5
BOARDMAN Perry (4-0, 2-0 Federal) scored four times in the first inning and added four more in the fifth.
Lizzie Padgitt homered, Katie Hawkins doubled, Shannon Marrow singled three times and Kelsey Ford had two hits for Boardman (4-2, 1-1).
Jackson-Milton 3, Sebring 2
SEBRING Senior Krista Kiraly had 13 strikeouts and no walks in a six-hitter for Jackson-Milton (4-3, 4-1 ITCL Tier Two).
Kiraly also had two hits including a triple, while senior Carrie Fiol had two hits including a double.
Dani Seidel doubled for Sebring (2-6, 2-3 ITCL).
Western Reserve 10, Leetonia 0
LEETONIA Elizabeth Srock threw a one-hitter over six innings, striking out nine and walking three, to lead Reserve in an ITCL Tier Two game.
Macy Marra homered and doubled for the Blue Devils (3-6, 3-2), while McKenzie Mowery added three hits and Kailyn Mowery and Srock each had two.
Lowellville 19, Wellsville 1
Freshman Brooke Pallozzi also had two triples for the Rockets, who have four win in a row.
Senior starter Carla Blinsky pitched the first two innings, followed by Pavlicko in the third, fourth and fifth. Each pitcher gave up one hit. Pavlicko earned the win.
Mineral Ridge 11, Crestview 5
COLUMBIANA Junior Heather Reinhart had four hits including a double, while sophomore Brooke Brdek had four hits for Mineral Ridge.
Brdek struck out seven for the Rams (5-4, ITCL 3-2 Tier One). Freshman Jenna Smith added three hits, while sophomores Dabra Danadic and Mara Bellard had two hits apiece.
Kelsey Richards and Jen McElroy each had two hits for Crestview.
Springfield 4, East Palestine 3
EAST PALESTINE Leah Noel had two hits, one a home run, for the Tigers (4-2, 4-0 ITCL).
Amber Hill doubled for East Palestine.
Southeast 8, Ravenna 1
RAVENNA Shannon Hamilton pitched a five-hitter for Southeast.
Lindsay Speidel had a triple and a double for Southeast (5-2, 0-4 Portage Trail Conference).
Ravenna is 0-4 and 0-3 PTC.
Late Monday
Poland 10, Hamilton West (N.J.) 0
ORLANDO, Fla. Junior Liz Maher pitched a no-hitter with seven strikeouts for Poland in a game at Disney World.
Ashley Conger had a triple, two singles and one RBI to lead the Bulldogs, while Allie Patton added two singles.
