Turocy helps Canfield shut out Fitch, 3-0



CANFIELD — Goalkeeper Jared Turocy made five saves as the Canfield High boys soccer team shut out Fitch, 3-0, Tuesday in a Division I tournament match.

Jake Gociano scored two goals for the Cardinals while Nate Merhaut netted the other.

Falcons goalkeeper Jason Hasely made four saves as Canfield outshot Fitch, 15-6.

Girls

STRUTHERS — Katie Griswold scored five goals as Mooney defeated South Range 13-0 in a Div. II sectional tournament match at Valley Sports.

Ashley Cuba added two goals and four assists for the Cardinals (9-1-5). Ashling Trewella had two goals and an assist.

Alex Sierra, Emily Groubert, Britanee Mulhall and Breanne Donoghue each scored a goal.

Ursuline 8, Liberty 0

YOUNGSTOWN — Katelyn Tondo-Steele scored three goals, while Dana Hinebaugh, Adele Koury, Rena Hinebaugh, Kelsey Price and Katie Young added one apiece for the Irish (12-2-2).

Tondo-Steele and Hannah Snyder each had two assists, while Price, Dana Hinebaugh, Rena Hinebaugh and Kaila Buckley had one assist apiece.

Liberty finished 0-14-1.

Champion 5, Struthers 0

CHAMPION — Marissa Walker scored three goals, while Katelyn Moore and Morgan Loychik each had one for the Flashes (10-4-3), who will meet the winner of today's Warren JFK-Springfield game.

Jessica Craley, Katie Saluga, Brittany Wortman and Erika Stevens. had assists. Keeper Angell Angell Lipps did not record a save.

Ashley Baron had nine saves for Struthers (7-8).
