Gavin's push for points gets it done for Chaney
Sarah Pelini led Mooney's win over Warren JFK.
YOUNGSTOWN Jessica Gavin scored 24 points with seven aces to spark the Chaney High volleyball team to a 25-12, 25-9, 23-25, 25-7 win over Ursuline in a Steel Valley Conference game on Tuesday.
Eartha Terrell had 10 kills and 11 digs for the Cowgirls (8-10, 3-1). Jacquela Teamor had 25 assists.
Allison Williams led the Irish (3-13, 2-4) with six points. Jessica Yarab had six points and two aces.
Freshman Dominique Jenkins had four kills.

WARREN Sarah Pelini led the Cardinals (14-1, 5-0) with eight kills and nine digs.
Brittany Bleggi had five kills, four aces and three blocks.

MASSILLON Nikki Kovick had 14 points, three aces and 25 digs, Cassie Campbell had 13 kills and Katie Corrigan had 15 blocks for Jackson (8-8, 6-5 Federal League).
For Fitch (8-9, 7-5), Lindsay VonSchwarz had eight points and four aces, Caitlin O'Patchen had 11 kills, 10 assists and nine blocks (six solo) and Rebecca Evans had 10 digs.

HOWLAND Taylor Summerfield scored 10 points with four aces, 12 kills, 25 assists, two blocks, three digs and four saves for the Tigers (12-6, 8-1 MAC).
Kelly Barzak had 10 points, four aces, 10 kills, one assists, three blocks and two saves.
Melissa Lubert had 11 points, four aces, five kills, three assists, one block, five digs, one save.
Ashley Conger led the Bulldogs (11-6, 7-4) with four points, four kills, 11 assists and 10 digs.
Doni Muransky had two points, ace, nine kills, three blocks and three digs.

NILES Kelsey Owen had eight points, one ace and 11 kills; Courtney Rothbauer had 13 points, four aces and three digs and Rachael O'Hara had 10 points and 31 assists for Canfield (9-9, 8-3 MAC).
Junior outside hitter Kristina Pallante had six points, two aces, two kills and five digs; sophomore middle hitter Jonna Dunn had three kills, 12 blocks and four digs and junior setter Allie Moss had four points, two kills, one block, 13 digs and four assists for Niles (4-15, 3-9 MAC).
