YSU projected starters: Forwards Jack Liles (6-8 sophomore, 7.1 points per game) and Dwight Holmes (6-6 senior, 2.9 ppg); guards Quin Humphrey (6-4 senior, 18.2 ppg), Byron Davis (6-2 junior, 8.7 ppg) and Keston Roberts (6-4 senior, 16.2 ppg).
Detroit projected starters: Brandon Bell (5-10 junior, 6.0 points per game); Brandon Cotton (6-0 junior, 18.3 ppg); Chris Hayes (6-8 sophomore, 5.4 ppg); Muhammad Abdur-Rahim (6-4 senior, 2.3 ppg); Ryvon Covile (6-9 senior, 13.3 ppg).

Coaches: Jerry Slocum (The King's, N.Y. '75) is 17-36 in his second year at YSU and 597-361 in 32 seasons overall. Perry Watson is 252-172 in his 14th season with the Titans.

Notes: The Penguins had one of their worst shooting games last Thursday night in a 55-46 loss at UW-Green Bay. The Penguins shot just 27 percent from the field and top scorer Humphrey was held to just six points on 2-for-13 shooting. Slocum said that the Penguins had 18 uncontested shots, some were layups that didn't go in. The Penguins are trying to gain a split with the Titans after dropping a 66-51 contest at Detroit on Jan. 6. The Penguins have won just twice in 19 meetings with the Titans and both wins have come at Beeghly Center. The last was in 2005 when the Penguins won 59-55. Detroit is on a three-game losing streak coming into the contest including a 75-67 loss to UIC on Saturday. The two teams are both 5-8 in the Horizon League standings and deadlocked for fifth place.

Next: YSU will stay at home Saturday afternoon when they take part in the ESPN Bracket Buster event hosting Eastern Kentucky in a 4:30 p.m. tip-off at Beeghly. The game will be part of a doubleheader with the YSU women meeting UW-Milwaukee in the first game at 2:05 p.m.
